Jan 2010 Code Watch

Thank you to everyone who mentioned 'Magical Lisa'. :flower3:

We were planning for our usual WL and the best price I could find was through WDW UK, which I was about to book. I looked at Lisa's website and saw they had offers for the Poly, mentioned it to DH and he said, ask for a quote. Which I did - and have now booked a Garden Club room for less than a woods view at WL.

When we first visited WDW 20 years ago I wanted to stay at the Poly but DH wanted the Contemporary, and he won. Since then we've stayed at several resorts, with WL being our favourite. We've visited the Poly but always thought it seemed very busy, so have never wanted to pay the cost in case we spent our time wishing we were at WL.

But this great rate allows us to 'risk it'. So finally, 20 years late, I'll be staying at the Poly. :cheer2:

I love the DISboards.

Yeah Lisa does seem magical :) and I bet she is enjoying the recent surge in business.

I just got my confirmation for our 2 Poly Garden rooms for the January marathon and couldn't be more excited. $199 before tax is an awesome 56% savings.

POLY - here we come

Magical Lisa is not so magical. I've been waiting two weeks for her to get back to me and not a peep. Is she picking and choosing who she responds to or is the wait time longer than two weeks?

Hi, Perhaps your message didn't get through, she responded to my request this from this Monday, in one hour! Although unfortunately the offer didn't suit my dates, unless I did a split stay.

We booked our Jan trip at rack rate, AP with dining. I'm hoping for some AP rates for moderates to come out that we can apply! If there anything like the rate they've been offering for most of 2008, our savings will more or less pay for our dining plan. Wooo!

I noticed that her name is the default option for the TAs named on the enquiry form.
I would have 'ticked' her name because of seeing it on here. But I did think that perhaps it was a little unfair for the other TAs listed, because unless you already know one of them and make a point of choosing them, Lisa will get all the enquiries.
Perhaps she's the boss?

Try her again, she may not have received it.
Or perhaps you haven't received her reply.
Things do go astray, and e-mail addresses can easily be mistyped.

I sent my enquiry late Sunday (UK time), after the end of office hours listed on the website. When I checked Monday, I found she had replied almost straight away. But she did say that they were very busy with enquiries about the new DCL itineraries. And she has taken longer to respond since, but still generally within 24 hours (possibly less, the time difference complicates things).

I am pretty sure you are correct based on my recent phone conversation with her.

I did want to point out to everyone to consider contacting Disney to verify the information in your Disney profile. I had another reservation for the same time as the one I just booked with Lisa, so I called Disney to cancel it and Lisa's TA email was now in my profile email address. Just an FYI .....

More rumor from Len Testa at the UG:

"Details are still being worked out, but we’ve heard from multiple, usually-reliable sources that Disney’s Buy-4-Get-7 deal will return next week. The announcement may be made as early as Monday, but could be as late as Thursday. Value resorts will have a slightly different “Buy-5-Get-2″ deal. Travel dates, we hear, could be October 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010. Book by December 20, 2009 (we think that’ll be extended). And you must purchase Magic Your Way tickets to match the number of nights of your stay.

Take all of this with a grain of salt, in particular the announcement dates. "

I'm wondering how the tickets = nights part will work. If the 4/3 works the same as last year, we were planning on 10 day non-expiry tickets, to use for a short Flower & Garden or Christmas trip later. I wonder if this means they won't be allowing that this time, or if it is just that they're ending the option of getting 1 day tix like passholders sometimes do to take advantage of Disney's better offers.

That's strange. Just checked mine and it is as it should be.

(I also verified that my reservation appears on the WDW web site. All is OK. Just as if I made it myself.)

Wonder if they will do the $200 gift card....

I have a AAA discount on a club level room at AKL right now for 1/20 to 1/27. If the AP discount is the same as last year this 7 for 4 deal would be about $40 more but I would have over $450 worth of tickets for the future. The gift card would make it better.

ETA....I forgot that I would only have to purchase 4 day tickets so it is only about $20 more than last years AP rate-using the $96 off rack from last year.

I checked my reservation on the WDW website, logged in with my own e-mail address, and it is there. Although I am a little concerned that it doesn't specify my room type, neither does the confirmation. I'm waiting to hear back from Lisa about that.

(By the way, love your DISname and avatar :) )

Online was fine - both information and reservations checked out. It was when I speaking with CRO to cancel my other reservation she was verifying information and my profile email address there was different.

I was curious about the lack of room type (water view ) also. Please share what you hear.

I misread. If changes need to be made, can they be done directly with CRO or must they go through Magical?
