Hey everybody,

Still holding out for a good rate, DD has a gymnastics meet @ WWS weekend of Jan 22 - 25, I got a quote from Dreams unlimited and I got the same price on the Disney World site, 1343.28 for 3 nights @ AK with one day hopper W/dining. for 2 adults (dd's 12). Hoping a for a lot better price or its on to the Mod's or Values..

The person that created this site must just love the Poly. You can look at descriptions of each longhouse and look at potential views from various rooms, location on the property, etc. It was helpful. I requested Samoa because I thought the kids would like being by the Volcano Pool (and I want to be close to the GCH).

TikiMan's site is just fabulous! If you read his trip reports, you get an idea of just how much he loves that resort, even though he does stay at others. The best pictures I've come across of an AKL 1 bedroom suite (not villa) came from his site, in addition to all the great information that have me completely in love with the idea of the Poly for our Jan trip even though my kids both want the Beach Club.

we stayed at the poly last trip -Jan 2009. i am very excited to maybe get it at a better rate this january. thank you for the "magical lisa" tip. I just emailed her. I used tikiman's web site last year it is fabulous.

I am taking my DD for her 7th birthday 1/20 to 1/27. Right now I have AAA discount on a room at AKL. I'm hoping I can get a better deal on that room or I'll have to change resorts. Last year I had AAA on AKL for late Jan and I couldn't get AP discount when those came out late Oct or 4/3 deal when that came out in November so I switched to Poly. I did however book AKL for the first week of May with 4/3 deal. I took my older 2 (now 8 & 10) for their 7th birthdays and stayed at Pop so I really should be booking there.

Just checking in after being away from the thread for a while...
So the conventional wisodom is that any WDW codes/discounts for January 2010 will probably/maybe be released later in September. Right?

(I ask because I'm really looking for a good reason to book)

Last year is was mid-October. I would love to see it sooner, but not really looking for it until next month.

I am gonna die at this rate! Because I don't wanna miss the beginning of it I am trolling these boards every day looking for it to come out.. I do know I am at least three weeks early, but that is just my anxious nature.. Too excited for my own good!

I am expecting late October/early November as well, but I have started to wonder wether they might not come out with something once the current free dining promition which runs until December expires... That ends 9/26. In recent months it seems that Disney always came out with a new promotion within days after one ended. Of course they might just extend the booking window for free dining as offered now for month and only offer deals for 2010 in late October.

I did not realize that if there is a free dining offer, it is only QS meals in the values. We had planned to stay at POP. Am I better off reserving a moderate, in the chance the offer is free dining? OR should I stay with POP, because with a 4/3 offer that is what I would prefer?

ACK - I thought it all was set in my head until now!!

I think you can pay the difference to upgrade to the regular dining plan, you would just have to figure out that cost and see if the discount is still worth it. I'm thinking 4/3 is more likely than free dining, though.

Usually, it would be late Oct/early Nov, but since the fall/winter offer came out a few weeks earlier than usual this year, I do think there's hope for an earlier release of 2010 codes as well.

I think she was talking abt upgrading the dining plan, not the resort Although a $24 upgrade charge to a mod WOULD be a sweet deal!

I am trying to be an optimist, I am hoping the day after the free dining promo ends, they go right into another. Can't hurt to think positive!!
My DD has her 9th BD in Jan. when we plan to go. Does anyone know about the Birthday box you can order and how much it is?
