Someone thought the gift card will be like the birthday cards they are giving out, you can only use them for merchandise at certain shoppes and no they aren't good for food or drinks or to put on ressie bill...so basically they are for souviners if that is the case.

If that is the case I'll look for someone making a purchase and ask them if they want a discount..lol...is that illegal?

I can see where that would be a problem if you dont' want to buy souvenirs. I wonder if you could outright sell it to someone else? Or if your name would be on it?

I would prefer a percentage off of room rates or packages, free dining, or discounted park admission to the 7 for 4 deal. I already have my airfare booked, and various reservations made with a AAA discount, and this deal would actually cost me quite a bit more than what I'm currently paying (i have four nights at POP right now with dining plan and 2 day park hopper). I guess I'll just cross my fingers really hard and hope for a different or alternative discount!

So are you guys thinking you will be able to apply the AAA discount on top of the Disney discount code???

My AAA TA didn't know, but typically you can't use more than one discount.

I don't think you can usually use more than one deal at a time.

I received a 40% off room only PIN that is currently applied to my ressie. If this deal comes out, I think I have to scrap the PIN entirely to go with the the 4 nights 3 free deal. I suspect the same is true for the AAA discount, the AP discount and the FL Residents discount.

I hope its not only for souvenier stuff. We don't plan on buying much this trip as we are cruising the week after and would rather have some stuff from the cruise, not the parks.

I talked to my AAA TA this morning and got a price for a 7 day trip. She is calling me back at 5:30 with an updated price for the same trip. She said she didin't know what the offer was but she got an e-mail saying that it was coming out at 5:00 tonight.

I just tried to call my TA but she won't be back from lunch for another 10-15minutes. LUNCH? Who can eat at a time like this Our TA is really great, she's not always aware of deals/promos going on, but if I tell her about it, she will get right on it and find out all the details, she generally tells me everything, even if she's not supposed to So I will call her back in a little while, and if she gives me details, you all will be the first to know!

Yes, I am already booked - just thought that the post about the deal stated that if you booked prior to 1/4 there was not a gift card and if you booked after 1/4 there was.

I was thinking this as well--no stacking discounts. We have 40% off at WL for 8 nights. I wonder if they would let me use the 40% discount on the 1 extra night above the 4 for 7 offer?

I have been doing some math, and seeing as we already have 2 APs and the 40% off at WL, I can't see where my savings would be with this new offer. Anyone have any input? We are 3 Disney adults and 1 child--(2 of the adults have APs already.)

I believe what was meant was if you book before 1-4 for vacation between january 4th and some time in march, you get the giftcard...if you book now for anytime between whatever day in march and whatever day it is in june, you do not...its based on vacation dates, not booking dates... based completely on the speculative rumors about what may or may not be released tonight at 5pm EST.

Ok, my brain is foggy - does this sound right to you...

Right now I have this booked:
Jan 3-10 POFQ 1 Adult/1 Jr (lets just say 2 adults)
I have a rate of $938.77 for the 7 nights (AAA rate)
Tickets for the 7 nights would be $444 (But I actually already have 3 day base tickets and need to spend $40 to upgrade them to a 5 day, which is all I need, but CAN sell them on ebay and lets ballpark after fees I come out with $375 on them for later in my equations).
So total I am spending on tickets/room is 978.77 (assuming I have the free ticks and upgrade at $40 to a 5 day)

Now...
Since the deal comes out Jan 4th, I would have to pay one night AAA rate for Jan 3rd.
That is 134.11
Then add 4 days regular rate (incl tax) 670.52
Tickets are $438
Total is 1242.63
Now, lets take off the 375 I can sell the tickets on ebay for, for a grand total of 867.63

So I am still saving 111.14 plus I get a $200 gift card.

Ok does that sound right? I swear my brain is in a fog today.

I haven't even thought about total costs and everything - good for you all who have done that, maybe I will have to give it a try!

We are only booked 3 nights at WL for a pre-cruise stay. If the offer is 4 nights/ 3 free, I didn't think my DH would even consider it - this would be a 2 week vacation! I just called to run it by him and he says "sure"!!
So now I better get pricing! I'd be checking in Jan 4. What are the odds of me being able to add the additional nights to my reservation? Agh! So much to think about, like if my boss will even give me those extra days off!
