Jan 2009 Code Watch

Looks like we are having an early dinner tonight!! LOL!!! My eyes will be stuck to this computer by 4:45!!! Who am I kidding I will be here all day!!! LOL:lmao:

What advice do you guys have for those of us working with TA's?

Since we don't know what the actual deal is, would we be best off saying, here's my budget amount, get me the best hotel, tickets and dining you can for less than $x?

Or would it be best to go ahead and book whatever it is and then go through the process of transferring the reservation to the TA over the weekend?

Well if your dates fall within the time of the offer your TA should just be applying the discount to your reservation. If you are staying for less then 7 days and are willing to change I would advise them of that so that they are aware of your options. They can't read your mind on what you would like them to do

that's what we're saying to our TA. I told her two various options, but with a price cap on both. She's going to go ahead and upgrade our room from AS Movies to either Coronado or AKL if the coupon will allow her to while keeping us in our budget.

Just your normal lurker here.... :)

I've gone through and read about this possible deal 4 w/ 3 free.
What are the chances that this would apply to a club level stay? We are already booked for Jan 18-24 (6 nights) at WL. We would gladly stay an extra night if it were free, but I believe we would also have to change our dining plan from a 6 night to a 7 night and pay that at full price, which is no big deal. DH said that if this discount doesn't apply to club rooms then he wants it changed to a courtyard view at WL :sad1: He said he'd rather keep the money and down grade instead. If we did that, does anyone know what would happen to all our adr's that the club level staff has booked? Would we loose those? We got every adr we wanted at the times we wanted, and I would hate to not be able to keep them. Anyone have any insight?

BTW, everyone on this thread is always so happy and helpful. You all make waiting for a code a very magical event pixiedust: I may just have to stop lurking all together!

:goodvibes I think I'm going to email her and ask her to do this for me. Right now we're at ASMu with a family suite and deluxe dining, but I can see scenarios with the 4/3 where we can stay within our budget and upgrade to AKL w/two rooms.

Does anyone think, that if it is a buy 4 get 3 free deal, you could apply it to a split stay at two resorts? Thats how I'm currently booked. First 5 nights AKL last 4 nights WL. (January 1-10)

Good Morning, :goodvibes

I am happy to hear the potential deal of 4/3. That sure would help.
That plus the $200.... I'll take it for sure!!! :cool1: :cool1:

My DH has tumbling until 5, but we live pretty close. I expect I'll be logged on by 5:20 !! Supper can wait until after I am done, she can eat some popcorn if she's hungry ~popcorn::

I too will be like other... logging on during the day ( just in case ! ) :surfweb:

See you all later !

We always stay club level and so far have been lucky enough to get discounts each time we have gone. I do know the rooms available in CL at each resort is limited, so call early.

As for your ADR's, they are yours to keep, no matter if you move to a reg room or not. HTH

My guess as it would not work as a split stay. Isn't that 2 packages? I don't think Disney would give people 3 nights free at a different resort then the one they paid 4 nights for, but that's just my opinion.

Good morning everyone! So if this deal turns out to be THE deal, it sounds like no blackout dates? Like Presidents Day?

If the tickets are Magic your way, I couldn't use them as they would expire when we leave, right? We have AP's, and if I could use the passes on a later trip, I might consider it. Also, if it is MYR, if they charge you at the rate for the nights you will be paying for (4), not the per night rate at 7 nights, the savings goes down, because the daily price for4 days is much higher than that of 7. Am I figuring this right?
Tickets expire 14 days after first use. If you don't use them they shouldn't expire.

LOL:rotfl: I've been refreshing that page at mousesavers....and I didn't even notice the 5 pm release time! I think I need double shots of coffee here.

It so figures....I have my son's conferences at school with his teachers at 5:00:scared1:

I already have my reservation made with the AP discount....so I'm not worried about room availability from the hotel I want....just hoping the package is available there....it should be though....you think? lol
Have you checked to see if your room is available for full price on the Disney website? I checked CR for my dates 1/28 to 2/3 and couldn't find any tower rooms.

No. You'd have to switch to 7 nights AKL (3 free), 2 nights WL.

How many days of passes would you end up with if it was 4/3 free? Total of 7 days because it would be 7 nights 8 days or 8 days? I'm confused!

I am not sure if this would be financially better for us or not.

I am asuming every member of your party has to have the tickets to get the package deal. ??

We are a family of 5, 3 Disney adults, 1 child, 1 free 2year old.

My 11yo DS and I already have Annual Passes. Plus, we also have 2 single day single park tickets.

I wonder if these 4 for 7 tickets would still be good for a later time?

I am going to be so confused by the math with this offer.

It is a great one, esp since we are in the $200 gift card window!! We are going Jan 19-27th

Right now we have WL at 40% off for all of the 8 nights that we have.

Any mathematicians out there that could help me figure this out??

Mary, if your out there....I have WL 7 nights standard with AP discount right now. Our passes are expiring right after this trip. Can you tell me if I should bother calling later if I have an activated AP with discount applied. I totally understand if letting me know this would compromise your confidentiality.:goodvibes popcorn::

Can you use less of the free nights if this is what it is? Because we can't change our airfare, but we would be one night "short" of their deal.

I should be jumping for joy, but really I am bummed about this "huge" deal, since most likely we won't be able to take advantage:confused:. We booked our air in August, and can't change ($350 change fee) plus I can't drag my kids out of school any longer than what we already planned 5 nights. Really, I am happy for those of you that can get this "huge" deal, but if this is really what is shaking down, I feel disappointed. Anyone else in the same boat? I guess we'll all know by 5:00 p.m but I suspect that the reliable sources quoted on this board probably know what is to come.

Nobody knows yet.

But I'll take your extra free night ;)

We need an 8 night/7 day package.

I am already booked for 6 nights and can't stay the 7th night because of my son's school. I plan on adding the extra night anyway...we will just check out late that last day in a sense giving us an extra day and fly out late that night. Since our savings would be over 1200.00.

Okay, my dilemma with the 4/3 deal is that we are booked for 6 nights, Jan 19-25 at POR, and to change my airfare to stay the additional night would be $300 (mind you, the airfare for flying home Monday might be cheaper than what I paid to fly Sunday, so that might offset the $300 a bit...I need to check into that!)

So: I booked 2 adults/2 kids, 7-day park hoppers, no waterparks, no dining (c'mon free dining!) for 6 nights at POR = $2,410. Breaks down to $401 per night for room & hoppers. (I am NOT as savvy about these numbers as many of you are! I am sure I am simplifying things...but bear with me?)

If I did the pay 4, get 3, I would be paying around $1604 for 4 nights AND getting 3 more nights free, which is AWESOME in my book. Then to change my airfare it'd be possibly $300 for a total of $1904, still way under my original booking, plus maybe getting a $200 gift card!? (It's early, I just had my coffee, so if I am waaay off please don't flame me!)

ADDING AN EDIT HERE: I just realized that since I didn't purchase DDP in my original booking, my 4 nights would have to be rebooked to include it. So my savings will not be quite as bit as I figured here. But still worth it probably??

Does this make sense? I want to be prepared! I wish I knew how to break down my price to just my room rate, because I want to know if I could possibly upgrade to deluxe. But hopefully I'll get a good CM who can walk me through. YAAAHHHOOOOOOO! C'mon 5:00!!
