I spoke to my TA earlier......basically, my friends, it sounds like we're out of luck for today.

I don't want to share too much of what she said without her permission, but basically it sounds like discounts open up at 7 a.m. on the date they are released. Now being past noon in my neck of the woods, she pretty much told me to go home, relax and have a nice weekend.

Ugh. Another few days to wonder what the discount will be!

That said, it certainly did sound as if there would, eventually, be something. And she mention that bookings were down for the month of January, which suggests that the discount may be attractive.

So hope springs eternal for all us faithful code watchers. But it doesn't sound like there will be any treats from Disney in time for Halloween.

as i would say to my kids.......oh poopie!!!!! ok now that that's over with.... as they say all good things come to those who wait. It seems to me with all the waiting we've done we're in for a pretty good prize! come on disney we'll be really good if you just throw us a bone - you know like an early christmas present. pretty please !

I agree!! A very nice christmas present PLEASE! Not to mention 12/28 is my birthday! Maybe they'll throw in a nice birthday present too!

But, didn't the Florida resident discount come out at 4pm yesterday? Maybe there is still hope?

I just called. No code for me. I went ahead and booked my package anyway. Got tired of waiting. The CM assured me that *IF* a code comes out later I can call back and they can make the adjustments to my ressie.

One thing she said though that I didn't understand was that SW no longer lets ME pick up your luggage for you. She said that we will have to retrieve it ourselves before taking the ME bus to the resort. . . Has anyone else heard this? We just flew with SW in May and they did it then. . .

As long as we're driving ourselves, and loved ones, and the refresh buttons on our computers crazy, and because it is Halloween and election time...time for some theories, conspiracy or otherwise.

1. Evil spirits have escaped from Haunted Mansion and have possessed the person responsible for releasing the codes. Where, or where is Zelda Rubenstein when you need her?

2. The powers (or bean counters) that be have done a secret polito-economic research on upcoming election and our codes will not be released until Wednesday, or when they have finished re-counting the vote in whatever state mucks up the electoral college this year. There are two possible codes, one if Florida goes red, one if it goes blue. Come on Obama, share the wealth! Make GF affordable for everyone! (Disclaimer: The preceding statement is not an endorsement.)

3. I don't really have a number 3, but I'm sure the tag fairy is somehow responsible.

Come on already! My fingers have been crossed for so long I'm not sure I'll be able to uncross them.

So I called today and put a hold on a reservation for double the price of our December trip. The last four or five agents I've talked to have been adamant they cannot look for codes. I wonder if that's just because they "know" there are no codes out yet or something else is going on. They also wouldn't put a two week hold on my reservation. He said they could only do one week hold? I wonder if Disney is reading this thread and torturing us. Grrrrrr. I think we're gonna have to go in December because my dh is getting tired of waiting for the January codes to come out. Come on! It's November!! (ok, not yet, but it will be the next chance for codes to come out is) I want codes for January please!!!! I'll take any I can get at this time.

Oh, and the guy tried to sell us on Animal Kingdom! I told him coming in that we were looking for a budget vacation. I humored him. I'm having enough trouble with a Value resort. Geez!

We are driving but my parents are flying SW and according to the Unofficial Guide SW is not a participating airline this year. When they flew SW in 2004 they used it and loved it.
