We are driving but my parents are flying SW and according to the Unofficial Guide SW is not a participating airline this year. When they flew SW in 2004 they used it and loved it.

Not being a participating airline only means that you can't do the check-in at the resort for your trip home. It has nothing to do with the pick up and delivery of your bags on the way to Disney.

Perhaps you can call Southwest directly and ask?

Yes, I knew they weren't a participating airline for the Resort Airline Check-in for departure. But the CM told me that they now do not allow WDW to pick up our bags at MCO upon arrival. . . Doesn't make much sense to me. I think she is misinformed or confused. . .

I'm not surprised you knew! There have been so many reports of CM's getting details wrong that I wouldn't be surprised if she got this one wrong, too.

Just checking back in, and I see that no GP codes have been released. . I will do the morning ritual checking in, but I am completely bummed that nothing has come out. I read that codes have not typically been released over the weekends, but anything can happpen right? Still thinking positive!

You can upload your photos from your PC to a free photo hosting service such as photo bucket, then you can link the image from there (that's how these forum boards work).

Yeah, I didn't get ANY treats today.. unless you count the keg of Octoberfest beer my homebrewer hubby hooked up today.

One thing she said though that I didn't understand was that SW no longer lets ME pick up your luggage for you. She said that we will have to retrieve it ourselves before taking the ME bus to the resort. . . Has anyone else heard this? We just flew with SW in May and they did it then. . .

We always fly SW and this is the only way that I remember using ME. We last went to Disney in Nov. 2007 and we had to get our lugguage and bring it to the ME check-in. They loaded it onto the bus and then brought it to our resort later. It made me feel a little more at ease just knowing that it made it to Orlando and then made it on the bus. Hope this helps.

Sorry it took me so long to see this! Had to go to work. I'm in the east end of the GTA...I work downtown. Where are you?

I'm still waiting for a code, but I'm really excited because I've been watching for an MK view room at the Contemporary for one night at the beginning of our trip, and nothing has been available, but tonight I got one!!! This is a huge dream of mine, to stay in the Contemporary, so I'm REALLY excited! Now, if I could get a 40% code off my 5 nights x 2 rooms at the AS, it would pay for the one night at the Contemporary!!

On late January 2008, I did NOT pick up my luggage from the SW baggage claim and it turned up in my room exactly as expected within a few hours. I am confident Disney or its contractors have always and will continue to deliver ME luggage arriving from SW airlines. I believe the ME contract with the airport requires all yellow-tagged luggage to be picked up by Disney ... it has nothing to do with the airlines, that requirement is between MCO and Disney.

They also wouldn't put a two week hold on my reservation. He said they could only do one week hold?

I read in another post that Disney was changing their hold policy from two weeks to one week for reservations in 2009. This would seem to confirm it.

Well, it seems our hopes of a code have been dashed 'til Monday. In the meantime I can obsess over trying to win the Orbitz sweepstakes!

Let's hope Disney puts out a code Monday! I was actually sort of relieved they didn't post one yesterday because I (and so many other parents, I'm sure) was swamped with Halloween activities and I wasn't sure how I would squeeze it all in!
