Jan 2009 Code Watch

Okay, getting this slowly but surely...

So Disney will make the codes available to the public? Do you have to mention them when making reservations or do they automatically give you a discount because the code is out for the public, or what? I've heard of people being emailed codes for free dining or whatever...now how do you get in on those kinds?

You'll have to call and get them to add the code. The emailed/mailed codes are completely random.

Subscribing! :goodvibes

Sitting here in my little corner of Canada, hoping and praying for a good discount for us Canucks to help offset our plummeting dollar

Ticket upgrades, room discount, package discounts, whatever......any incentive will do!

I forgot all about AAA- duh./...
Can I check AAA rates on line or do I have to call?
Does anyone know WL a night w AAA or Pop a night AAA (we are going 1/28 to 2 /1 I hope_)

Jill:cool1:

I just got a rate quote today from AAA for 5 nights (Jan 27-Feb1) at the Port Orleans Riverside, 6 day park hopper (not including the water parks), and disney dining for 2 adults and the quote was about $1,650. The AK price was about $2,000.

I'm wondering if there will be any Jan "codes" that will beat that price? Does anybody have an opinion on whether that's a good price of if I should wait? I recently got a postcard for free dining but that was just through certain weekends through December. I called and asked if there would be any values (didn't know I should have asked for codes) in January and they told me that they don't find out about specials until the general public does - so that wasn't much help!

General public codes are not a sure thing , sometimes they don't offer one at certain times of the year. Same thing goes for AP discount codes, that said, with the economy the way it is, and Disney already advertising on TV for the 2009 promotion (I even saw a food and wine festival add in Michigan for the first time) I think there is a good chance they will put out codes. Keep your fingers crossed for some pixie dust!:wizard:

Now that we're in mid-October, does anyone know what day of the week codes historically come out?

Well, we just changed our room only res. from 2 cabins @ FW to 3 rooms @ Pop. We've stayed at both resorts before, and love them both. We decided to go Pop b/c of cost.
We also had to change our dates from Jan 2-9, to Jan 10-17, due to work schedules. I'm still very happy about going, just really wanted the cabins this time. Oh well, maybe next year....................;)

We just changed from Por to pop to. The water heater broke last week, so the savings is enough to replace it. I'm sure I'll love POP.

POP is great! We have a little group of us staying there for the marathon. I'm hoping for an AP rate.

I love pop more then the deluxe resorts I've stayed at. Sorry to hear about your water heater.

Last year AP rates came out on Halloween-a Wednesday. I hadn't checked the boards all day and checked after the kids were done with trick or treating. I was worried I missed out but ended up getting a super rate at Pop ($49). We were there 1/6 to 1/11.

Anyone have any idea if the AP rates, IF they come out, will be for dates starting on Jan. 1?

Mousesavers indicates that the stays were from Jan. 1 to ....

Any idea?

No, usually the first couple of days are blacked out. It would probably start for Jan. 3 to Feb 12. Plus the weekend of Jan. 17-19 will probably be blacked out of any discounts too.
