Jan 2009 Code Watch

Last year they came out 3rd week of October. I re-booked my package for the Canadian deal on Oct 19th, which was a Friday, so it is POSSIBLE that next Friday the Canadian deal comes out, and then the general code came out a couple of days later I believe.

I am looking for a great FL ressie AP rate for Jan 24-27 for my DD's 7th birthday..I dont care what resort we stay at just a good rate-subscribing;)

Okay, at the risk of making myself look like a total and complete fool...I'm just going to ask, since I've read through most of this thread and am still obviously missing something. I get that there's some perk to this, but that's about it. LOL

PLEASE enlighten me when it comes to this code stuff. What are you referring to? Can anyone benefit from this stuff, and how?

some codes everyone can, it's a code to get a discount on a room or Disney Package.

Okay, so how can I play along? We're going in Jan, too. The rest of our group of 18 is staying at POR but I think my family will have to stay at a value resort since we probably won't be able to afford that. :( Would these codes help me at all?

When you read here that code is out call 407-W-Disney and see if it covers your dates and if the resort you're looking for is included. It could be anything from a 30% off room code to a discount if you book a package. We'll have to wait to see what they offer.

It really depends on what codes are released and what the discounts are on.

It's a big waiting game, no one knows until they come out.

To give you an idea though, the fall 'codes' are at www.disneyworld.com

That's the kind of deals that they're offering to the general public.

sitting on pins and needles, praying we get some kind of code we can use...We don't need the hopper plus upgrade they have offered other years---Id love a package deal---or even a room discount.

Come on Disney---Id hate to have to switch to AAA again (bad experience last trip with them).

I'm hoping for free dining or a decent package discount. Ticket upgrades won't help me much because we're already leaving off the water parks since it will be January when we go and one of the waterparks will be closed anyway.

Checking for codes daily is AGONY!!! Come On Disney! :headache:

I called for ressie acouple of days ago and she said it would be november before codes for jan. came out that seemed late to me what do you guys think.

I think Disney is always very conservative with their dates -- that way when it comes early, it is a "wonderful surprise:. ;)

The last time we went in January was 2006 and we happened upon a code- the CM who helped us book was awesome! We booked in October for January and the code was available then. That year the discount was free park hoppers and more. We definitely used the hoppers, but we were too busy to use the water parks.

We are going in January - using a travel agent to book room and tickets (no discounts so far, but she will look for them).
My sister and brother in law want to go at the same time. They have AAA. Should they go ahead and book their room and tickets with AAA, just their room using AAA discount through the travel agent, or wait to see what other discounts come out?
Trying to figure out what to do. Thanks!

IMO, they should book now, then if a better deal comes out the AAA travel agent can add the code and see if it is a better deal.

At least that's the advice we received :)
