kind of related... anyone know if any airline has their discount rates out for Orlando in Jan yet? From the West Coast? Budget setting on the rack or AAA rates goes only sofar without airfare and Disney's quote was freightenlgy high.

Southwest released their rates a few weeks ago. I booked ours but hope they will still go down. Their prices were about 1/2 the price of other carriers.

ETA: We are still waiting for a code too!!

Subscribing to this thread as we are currently planning our next trip for either January or February - depending on my daughter's school schedule. Either month is fine with me... I'm not picky when it comes to going to Disney!

Backtracking for just a sec. I'm really sorry to say this, but I agree with hoping for no free dining. I just took on a second (seasonal) job at the Disney Store where 3 different managers were at WDW over the past few weeks for free dining. They said it was a nightmare. CM's were cranky and guests even crankier. Horrible crowds even at the snack carts.

I'll gladly take a discount code or pass upgrade.

We were there last Jan for Martin Luther King weekend and the waits were not like April or Christmas but Peter Pan was never under 40 minutes and Soarin was always an hour. But I am sure that after that long weekend the lines maybe thinned out a little. We are staying longer this year so that is why I am hoping they don't offer free dining because then it will stay crowded past the weekend and we wouldn't want that.

We're booked for January 6-14. Since booking, I realized we'll be there for the marathon weekend and the varsity cheerleading/dance competition/MLK Jr. weekend . I guess we'll hope to get all the "headliners" done during the non-weekend period and spend the crowded weekend times going round and round and round on something like Tomorrowland Transit Authority or the Liberty Square Riverboat!

Subscribing. Our dates aren't firmed up yet, but I think that we'll arrive around 1/5 and leave 1/12, before the MLK rush. Would love to stay at AKL again, but waiting to see how any discounts pan out! This will be DS2's first trip (he'll be 11mo) and Grandma & Grandpa's first trip with DS1 (he's been there twice before).

DH is running the 1/2 this year. We missed last year - but I NEED codes!!!!!!!! I forgot about MLK weekend, it is AMAZING the difference in crowds come Friday.
