Time with my kids and Mom. We have been running around like crazy and still trying to process the loss of DH in March. We all need this healing voyage after the Christmas season....

Packing Concern--
This year, I am buying a portable scale for luggage. I always worry it is too much to fly.....

Tip:
If you don't want a sit down lunch when you first get on the boat, ignore the waiters guiding you to a restaurant and you can go to the Cabanas so you have a fast meal and could sit on a chair to watch the take off....

I do not want to make the decision but I am sure others have created their fish extender gifts and can not add another. I have not made the gifts so I would be okay but I need at least three other people to weigh in on it. Please understand that is that we are not trying to exclude anyone, it is just I did say Final list and others are more organized than I am and have made their things.

Sitting here looking and realized we leave 3 weeks from TOMORROW!!!! Flying down a few days early because that's what was cheapest for us. Girls still don't know and I don't know how or when we are going to tell them. The older one is expecting something, so we are discussing drawing out her torture as long as possible. It would be fun to tell them we are going to the amusement park for the day and drive to the airport instead, but I'm not sure I can pack successfully for a 14 y/o for a week.

Sitting here looking and realized we leave 3 weeks from TOMORROW!!!! Flying down a few days early because that's what was cheapest for us. Girls still don't know and I don't know how or when we are going to tell them. The older one is expecting something, so we are discussing drawing out her torture as long as possible. It would be fun to tell them we are going to the amusement park for the day and drive to the airport instead, but I'm not sure I can pack successfully for a 14 y/o for a week.

One of our trips to Disney, we threw the kids in the car at 4:30 and told them we were going to meet grandma and grandpa at a "park." After waking up around 7:00, they began to realize we were not heading in the direction of their grandparents, so I began a game with them - every 10 minutes, I'd give them a clue as to where we were going. They were very obscure clues that could have been interpreted hundreds of ways (i.e., "See the bears" was a clue, referring to Country Bears, but one son though was referencing a zoo, while the other though we were going to Chicago to see a football game).

The final clue (after many, many miles) was to take the first letter of each answer (which they had to write down) for the answer of where we were headed. We still love watching the video of the kids putting together W-A-L-T D-I-S-N-E-Y W-O-R (screams)...

We leave in a little more than two weeks, taking the long drive once again, this time without the kids. Enjoy these years - they go way too quickly!

So, no winter coat, but pretty much everything else! Think it need to go shopping.

So in order to finalize Christmas shopping, I first had to figure out what all I had been stowing away since I started in August. So, we started wrapping after the kids went to bed tonight. Good news all around! Not much left to buy; I was as surprised as they will be by what all I had and we decided how to tell them. We are going to go ahead and tell them on Christmas.

DD is getting a Snow White dress for the cruise and the niece is getting a wet suit (as are DH and I). They are getting a special joint BIG gift, wrapped in Mickey paper that's layered with wetsuits, beach towels, cruise booklets and a beautiful Snow White dress. We decided we're too excited to keep it from them any longer and want them to build up the excitement for the final week with us.

I notified the school today...Oh yeah, that first day back? Yeah, we won't be here.

Yeah - DW is a teacher (who NEVER takes time off) who gladly told her school the same thing!

We're packing now, which is easier when you're not wearing your warmer-weather clothes. We've turned our daughters (who's at Disney on the college internship) bedroom into a convenient "staging area." The lady bought a new "Palo" dress (is that really a thing? That's what she tells me). What's cool on this trip is that we WON'T be flying so packing is a whole different story.

So who else is also packing already?

I too will be including you on my fish extenders. I haven't made them yet anyway, I just wanted others not to feel a pressure if they had already made theirs.
