My youngest will probably prefer AP. However, I need to look at menus and see which one they would prefer to eat. Going strictly off ambiance, I would have to the middle or last one.

Thanks Dis_Yoda. Off to read menus :):goodvibes

UGH! Julie would pick Enchanted garden the most times, Sam would pick AP, and I would pick RC. LOL!

I think in the end, they picked the cruise and the activities and the excursions. Maybe I should be able to pick the restaurants, I mean, since I am paying and all. :rotfl2:

My DH and oldest son are off to Detroit for an overnight trip to the auto show so I can get caught up here.

Family last name: Lewis
Cabin #8122
favorite character/color of each person in cabin:
Derek/Blue/Cars movie
Felicia/Green/Aladdin
Brendon/Red/Lightening McQueen
Dean/he's three and his favorite everything changes daily...today he was a red power ranger. He likes Dusty Crop Hopper (today, lol.)
favorite disney songs: currently, the boys are stuck singing minecraft parodies which is comical considering that they don't play the game. Skylanders rule here.
age of kids at time of cruise: Brendon (7) and Dean (3)

*It's doubtful that my ILs will participate in the actual FE exchange.

When we cruised last April we left from Port Canaveral and did the 4-night Bahamas cruise on the Dream with my parents.
Flew to FL on Saturday, arrived at MCO, and drove straight to Legoland. The boys LOVED legoland. We stayed at the Port Canaveral Radisson Resort at the Port on Saturday night. It was convenient and we were able to make a Publix run to pick up some wine and groceries before boarding the ship. The breakfast at the Radisson was a bit hectic as EVERYONE is trying to eat and catch shuttles to board their cruise. The pool at the hotel was large and it entertained the boys while we killed time in the am.

The cruise was great. We did the Atlantis water park excursion in Nassau bc my little one was only 2.5 at the time. He had a great time at the water park and my older son loved the water slides. They both still talk about the massive school of fish they saw at the Dig aquarium. I ran the 5k. We did not choose to eat at either Remy or Paolo. Frankly, the cruise went by so fast that we hardly did any "extras." We are looking forward to having more time to try more activities on this cruise.

One of my favorite memories of that cruise is my little one saying, "Peter brings me crackers." Peter was our main waiter and Dean thought that we would get to bring Peter home with us. The backstory: I had ordered a cracker/cheese plate (All Hands on Deck) from room service while Dean was napping. The next day we requested one of these plates at dinner for Dean. The head waiter, Vlad, and our waiter, Peter, made sure that this appetizer was waiting for us when we arrived for our seating time the following night. This was one example of the Disney magic we experienced.

Maybe you should really treat yourself and escape with some DISfriends to Palo or Remy?? I'm pretty sure I mentioned it before... when Sabrina and her BFF Meghan were nine, they dined at our table in the rotational dining room while we four parents went to Palo. The night before we had told our servers not to expect us for dinner. Our servers offered to "take care of the girls" so we could go to Palo and the girls wouldn't miss a good meal (and have to go with the Club to the kiddie buffet). We settled them in then went to Palo. Then the hubbies went down between our meal and dessert to move the kids to the Club.

Brunch would be easy... do breakfast with the girls... then slip off to Remy or Palo while they're at the Club / Edge with the Sabrina and their other DISfriends. :dance3:

So which excursions did the girls decide on? :moped:

Wow, that sounds like fun. We usually stay at DW, spend a day at a park then drive over to Port Canaveral the day of the cruise... with a stop for Vanilla Rum. We return the car in Port Canaveral and shuttle to the ship. It's worked great.

We've never done a cruise that included the Bahamas. We'd love to visit Atlantis. The comercial for it looks great. We've talked about doing a 3-day and 4-day cruise back-2-back so we could go there. We can't see doing a short cruise after doing long ones ... you're going to love the 7-day :cool1:

I would love to join my DIS friends at Remy or Palo. I've never done either because I always have a child with me. I can talk to Sam, but she doesn't leave my side usually. I really don't want to have her uncomfortable. It may be that at 9 (almost 10) she would be willing to go to the clubs. Thus far, she has never wanted to go to them. We went to the open house at the Lab when she was 8, but she didn't want me to leave and then I wasn't allowed to go back with her. So, that was it. She liked the little fairy game they had on the computers on the Dream. That is what she played when she wanted me to sit right next to her at the open house.

Maybe this is the year... with both your girls together on the cruise

Sabrina's been happy in the DCL kid clubs since she was 3. She can't go into the Oceaneers Club/Lab at 13 (She's an Edge kid now). With Julie being 12, she has the option to spend time in The Edge (11-14) and Oceaneers Club/Lab (3-12) with Sam. Looking at the DIScrusiers list, I see a number of girls Sam's age on the cruise. I saw Sam posted on the KIDS ONLY thread. She will likely have some DISfriends by then too. :dance3::dance3:

It's ok if she isn't comfortable. I was hoping a little one her age would join the kids thread, so hopefully some will. Julie is all about the Edge. She went into a cooking class in the Lab and I picked her up and she was saying it all was too young for her. She needed to be in an older club. So she is excited to so to the Edge. Sam wouldn't go to the Lab even when Julie went. ;)

I think they want to do the bobsled. I read that the line can be up to 20 minutes and you only get one ride, but they didn't seem to care. We will see what other things they want to do.

I found the AquaDuck has the smallest lines while in Port. We tend to wait until its in Castaway Cay & go to the Duck that afternoon while everyone is on shore still.

This is really good to know. Julie loves the aqua duck and I hate wearing a swimsuit around people. So, maybe that will be the best idea. She wants to go parasailing as well, but Sam will do that too. Maybe I will book that first thing in the morning and then come back on the ship.

Thanks for the help Melissa. You are a wealth of information :worship:

I changed rooms. I read the review for 7064 and it was Maiyoli (I think) and the room was smaller. Normally I wouldn't care, but I was able to move for less that $200 to a 4C. So, I am in 7100. My kids like deck 7 or 6 because I prefer not to use the elevators. So it is the same distance if we go up or down;) And I requested the third rotation for dining. :)

Edited to add: I got cut off before I could confirm the dining. But the room is confirmed

Hi everyone!!! I'm getting ready to start looking into what gifts I should give for the FE but I noticed that on the list we are still missing some cabin numbers as they are "TBA". By when should the list be updated/finished?

Another question.... What is the dinner rotating about? I'm confused please explain:)

We knew a while back that Ja_rule_lover420 changed cruises, but I just confirmed that michele195981, her Mom and Dad, changed too. I wish some of the others that we haven't heard from for months would check in. :wave2:

I just noticed this:
7106 - Maiyoli - DW Maiyoli, DH Mike, DD15 Oceana, DD10 Zoe
7100 - Sweetlovin' - DW Bernadette, DD12 Julianna, DD9 Samantha

Zoe and Julie are about the same age and your cabins are now are 3 doors apart. I think Oceana and Zoe share the DISname "oceanazoe" and one or both of them have posted on the KIDS ONLY thread using it. Time for the girls to become BFF :yay::yay:

Thank you for doing this Lise. I hope they check back soon and reply.
