Wow I didn't realize remy has a brunch we did palo for brunch my in-laws and husband love it. Me not so much, I'm allergic to peanuts And they wouldn't let me eat anything unless they served it to me

Julie has a peanut allergy as well. Not severe, but enough that we stay away from nuts. She can sit next to people that are eating nuts, just not consume it herself.

It is Terrible, I. Have to Carry an EpiPen everywhere I go. But I'm only allergic to peanuts, I go nuts when I see people eating raw peanuts because they leave the shelves everywhere and they touch everything. On theDisney cruise they are so good with people with allergies.

I think Remy will be on Monday for us, Palo on Wednesday. We're also going to book Remy Brunch. Skipping Palo brunch this trip,

Now to figure out spa and excursions

That sounds great... We've enjoyed dinner and brunch at Palo on Magic and Wonder. Have you been to Remy? We're "gold" so I have still a while before we can book.

I've been to Remy twice so far. It is amazing!

Remy on the Fantasy in Sept 2012: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?p=46177968#post46177968

Our last trip, we did Palo Dinner twice and I did the brunch with some friends from the board. When we did brunch in Feb 2011 together, my husband wasn't a huge fan with some of the selections and felt dinner was more worth the up charge.

The brunch at Remy is something only about a year old. It was in testing during our last trip for $75 but we had something else planned at the time it was going on.

I have the FE spreadsheet up-to-date. Those who've joined the FE need to provide your missing info ASAP. Currently I have DISname, most individuals names and ages, most cabin numbers, some family names. No favorite characters.

Please check out the first post and you can see what I currently have for you. If you don't want you cabin # publiclly listed please send it to me in a PM and I will add it to the spreadsheet. (A few of you have already done this, thank you)

Email addresses - I will have the spreadsheet available in excel and PDF format. Please post or PM me your email address.

Thank You,

Lise

Wow, Melissa!

I love your reports expecially all the food photos! Makin' my mouth water :yay: My hubby always teases me about taking photos of food.

This will be our first time on the larger ships, so we want to enjoy all the restaurants in the rotational dining. I'd love to go to Remy and Palo. If we can't make it to Palo, it would be OK as we've enjoyed brunch and dinner there a number of times. Is Palo on the new ships pretty much the same as on Magic?

Glad you enjoyed them! After almost 6 years of marriage, my husband is just used to my photo taking of food at Disney. He even always waits & reminds me when I forget. My food porn is one of the reasons I upgraded to a DSLR & a prime lens.

I haven't been on the Magic since 2007. From what I remember, it is similar. I think the Brunch is slightly different but not enough to warrant a visit.

If you've done week long cruises before, many of the menus from night 4 to 7 are the same as the old Magic Cruises with a few updates - save the appetizer for whenever you go back to AP for the second time (you get a set appetizer there) As we've done RP, EG & AP before for their basic menu, we don't feel bad missing it. The Pirate Night menu was our least favorite meal on the trip last time so we don't feel bad skipping that either.

My hubby has been putting up with nearly 20 years of waiting for me to take the photo before he takes a bite. Maybe I should look at a new camera for my anniversary present :cool1:

I wish we knew our dining rotation before making Palo/Remy reservations. It's always seems to be a shuffle once we get onboard. Any suggestions?

Here's a shot form Sabrina's Bday 2009 on Magic.

If there's a specific restaurant you'd rather miss could you not request that restaurant to be on a specific night so you know when to book? ( I have no idea if they'll do this, I've never cruised before)

I haven't been on Fantasy, but I think things are the same as on Magic/Wonder as far as dining rotations. Sombody please jump in and correct me please!

When you arrive on board you have tickets in your cabin that list when you dine at each restaurant. There are 3 restaurants in the rotation so with 7 nights you go 2-3x to each restaurant. After checking in and boarding there is a window of time when you have opportunities to arrange for a variety of things... Spa, check kids into Oceaneers Club/Lab, reservations for adult dining (usually waitlist is all there is) ... and I think to switch early/late dining and dining rotation. The trick is that prior to boarding DCL has painstakingly figured out who are early dining and those who are late dining and paired up cruisers to share tables. They work hard to have great table mates picked out. Our first cruise we were assigned to table of 6. We both had little girl the same age. The second cruise we were at a larger table with a family with multiple kids. It was still a good fit. Our third and fourth cruises we traveled with another family and sat with them.

If one cabin switches it can be a domino effect of who's impacted. Of course Disney figures this all out and makes things work the best they can. Last cruise we ended up at a table with 5 empty seats. Our servers expected them, so I assume the other family switched rotation or to early seating at the last minute. Or maybe they just ate at the buffet all the time :confused3

The first time in Animator's Palate they do "the show" but I'm not sure if Formal Night impacts that for the folks who will be assigned there on Sunday. We love Pirate Night and although it’s our anniversary, so we don't want to go to Palo/Remy that night. I’m thinking Tuesday might be good for us 

My boys LOVED doing the FE. They felt like it was Christmas everyday and we did not have to buy a single souvenir!!!

Can't wait to have time to read this whole thread.

Thanks Bernadette... here's our schedule. Time to plot and plan!

I'll add it to the first post as well.

Thank you so much for this! I want to book my daughter for BBB, and this helps me figure out the day.

Is it correct that Palo is only open for brunch on sea days? I'm sorry if that's already been answered here.

A new camera is always a good idea! I need to upgrade my lens but my work bonus comes the first week of August so I know what its going to :)

You can always request a certain rotation.

The rotations should be:
RAERAAE
AERAEER
ERAERRA

Sat. - Rotational Menu
Sun. - Rotational Menu - Formal Night
Mon. - Rotational Menu
Tue. - Prince and Princess menu
Wed. - Pirates menu - Pirate night
Thu. - Captain's Gala menu - Semi-Formal Night
Fri. - See Ya Real Soon menu

I haven't figured out which one I want to request yet. I do need to request my private table though.

If there's a specific restaurant you'd rather miss could you not request that restaurant to be on a specific night so you know when to book? ( I have no idea if they'll do this, I've never cruised before)

Yes you can do that. I did that last cruise as I felt Animator's had the weakest rotational menu so I will try to avoid it if possible >< It was the least favorite of our Dream cruise.

This is an awesome group ... a good mix of seasoned DIScriuisers and newbies too. On which DCL ship and itinerary did you sail the first time?

I'll get you added to the Cruisers List on the first post and the FE List. We may wind up with two FE groups the way it looks. I'm reconfirming folks and we'll see where we're at. :scratchin

:love:AWESOME INFO

Thanks so much. I just added the menu and rotation info to the first post.

I'm amazed how much I learn that's new to me here on the DIS before each cruise. I always find out something fun you can do... like bring a photo mat or pillow case for the characters sign (drop it at the desk and they'll handle it), you can bring you own alcohol on board for consumption in private (we like vanilla rum & coke)... and now I learned can request a specific dining rotation (thank you, Melissa). That's a small miracle. :cloud9:

I want to see Fantasy's version of Animator's Palate. I've been staring at the drawings since they announced the new ships. We can enjoy an OK meal to see the show :3dglasses
