When we cruised last April we left from Port Canaveral and did the 4-night Bahamas cruise on the Dream with my parents.
Flew to FL on Saturday, arrived at MCO, and drove straight to
Legoland. The boys LOVED legoland. We stayed at the Port Canaveral Radisson Resort at the Port on Saturday night. It was convenient and we were able to make a Publix run to pick up some wine and groceries before boarding the ship. The breakfast at the Radisson was a bit hectic as EVERYONE is trying to eat and catch shuttles to board their cruise. The pool at the hotel was large and it entertained the boys while we killed time in the am.
The cruise was great. We did the Atlantis water park excursion in Nassau bc my little one was only 2.5 at the time. He had a great time at the water park and my older son loved the water slides. They both still talk about the massive school of fish they saw at the Dig aquarium. I ran the 5k. We did not choose to eat at either Remy or Paolo. Frankly, the cruise went by so fast that we hardly did any "extras." We are looking forward to having more time to try more activities on this cruise.
One of my favorite memories of that cruise is my little one saying, "Peter brings me crackers." Peter was our main waiter and Dean thought that we would get to bring Peter home with us. The backstory: I had ordered a cracker/cheese plate (All Hands on Deck) from room service while Dean was napping. The next day we requested one of these plates at dinner for Dean. The head waiter, Vlad, and our waiter, Peter, made sure that this appetizer was waiting for us when we arrived for our seating time the following night. This was one example of the Disney magic we experienced.
