Jamie's Journal (comments welcome please!)

Hi Jamie, I am glad your dad is doing better. I can understand your being frustrated regarding the smoking issue! It has to be his decision but keep prodding him along to help him make that decision.

It sounds like you are really on track with food, exercise and water. You WILL make this goal. And don't say you weren't healthy last summer, even though you did not make your total goal, you have made some really huge strides and have maintained that inital loss. Don't be so hard on yourself! You have five months I see before your next trip, you can do it. Spring and summer are just around the corner and longer days, lots of nice fruits in season all help with that.

Keep up your great work, you are doing so well!

Hi Jamie
Glad your dad is doing better :)
Well done for getting on track with food & exercise, i think we appreciate it more when we've taken a break!
We did WDW late may early june one year & the heat was horrible, even with DCL vacation in the middle of the holl - i hope i can cope!!!
Thanks for the tips :)

 Jamie,

I'm glad to hear that your dad is feeling better. :goodvibes We will keep him in our thoughts and prayers.

You did a great job with your food and exercise yesterday! Keep up the good work!:woohoo:

Have a great weekend!:cool1:

Good Monday morning.....What a weekend!!!

Talked to my mom this weekend and my dad is still in the hospital...they are hoping the doctors will release him today. My mom is hoping too. She does not work, so she sits at the hospital all day with my dad. She said that he is very bored and just wants to come home. They get him up about three times a day to take short walks around the hospital and then he has to get back in bed. So far though, no fluid had built up, so they are hoping that they go whatever was causing that. Thanks everyone for keeping my dad in your thoughts.

The weather here this weekend was absolutley gorgeous. We were in the mid 70's. Saturday DH and I got out on the motorcycles, ran some errands and then came home and started some yard work. We have not yet finished our back yard...too lazy and we decided this year we were going to. No matter what. So we were out there moving rock and laying paper. Digging up the neighbors tree that grows in our back yard. Man that thing drives me nuts. I don't know what to do with it. The man next door has two Aspens (I think) and the roots keep growing in our yard and then little trees spawn off of that. So we are out there once a month cutting the roots so we don't have little trees everywhere. I don't kow what to do to keep it from happening. I think I should call a landscape company and see what they say.

Food wise, this weekend could have been better, but not a total loss.

Friday:
B @ 5:15 1/2 cup cereal with 1 banana
S @ 8:30 1 banana
L @ 12:00 peanut butter and jelly sandwich
S skipped
D @ 6:00 Sonic - breakfast burrito and small fries
Water was really good, 100 oz for the whole day.

Saturday:
B @ 7:00 1/2 cup cereal
S skipped
L @ 1:15 1/2 turkey and cheese sandwich
S skipped
D @ 6:15 1 corn dog
Water was good - 100 oz again

Sunday:
B skipped
S skipped
L @ 11:35 turkey and cheese sandwich
S skipped
D @ 6:00 two slices of frozen pizza
Water was good -100oz
I was not hungry at all Sunday, but I knew I had to eat something.

Have agreat day everyone!!!

Hi Jamie
lucky you for getting some good weather!
My DH is out gritting the roads right now & could be out all night!!!
We are on a severe weather warning...again... arctic blasts & blizzards forcast all week, think of me when your soaking in that sunshine!
Hope your dad got to go home today.
Have a great week :)

Jamie, we have had that same problem with Aspens before too. We moved and never did figure it out beforehand. Definitely call a tree farm or a landscaping company to see what they say. Apsens are lovely but can be a PITA too! So glad your dad is doing better. This has got to be hard on your mom too. Keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers. And hoping our nice weather lasts! Keep up the good work, I thought your weekend looked great foodwise!

You are doing a great job, Jamie!:goodvibes

We are continuing to keep your dad in our thoughts and prayers.

My dad is a landscaper.... I'll ask him about the Aspens and see what he has to say.

I sent you a PM...

Have a great day!:cool1:

Sounds like you are doing a great job getting/staying on track. Way to go getting the walks in and drinking water even with your busy schedule and not so good weather. I'm glad spring is really here finally.

I hope your dad is home and recovering now. P & PD for you and your family.

Hello everyone.

Well last week was horrible. Not so much with food or water but with everything else going on. I was at work on Monday and then I would the rest of the week for training. It was very unexpected so I could not prepare for the things that I would miss here at work. I was in training from 8:30 - 5:00pm Tuesday - Friday and then I had to work this weekend and at nights so that I could stay caught up and not fall so far behind. So I am finally caught up, but man that was tough. I know I am going to have to do it again here within the next few weeks/months, but at least I can prepare for that! We are getting a new accounting system so we have to go to training for it.

Food wise last week was pretty good, considering I eat out for lunch Tuesday - Friday. I asked if the training facility had a fridge so that I could bring my lunch and I was looked at like I had two heads then told no. We had mexican one day and then we went to some sort of a pub one other day. I made good choices and both places. The mexican place I had a chicken burrito, didn't eat all of it and very few chips and salsa. The pub I had a chicken wrap with nothing in it but the chicken. It was okay. The other days I had a grilled cheese and a few fries. Never ate everyting on the plate though.

I didn't get much exercise in last week, only about 20 minutes a day, but that is better than nothing I guess. Way too tired after sitting in class for 8 hours and then working for another 4-5 at least during the night. But I am back on track this week and I am going to work really hard to make the March challenge. I don't know if I will make it, but I am going to push.

My dad was finally released from the hospital last Thursday, not Monday which is what he was hoping for. I talked to my mom and he seems to be doing better, he hasn't had any fluid show up like last time, so hopefully they fixed whatever was causing that. My mom is glad to have him home....she didn't do anything while he was in the hospital but sit there with him, but she was there so that is all that matters! I guess he has to go back to the doctor just for a follow up this week. Thanks for all the well wishes for him, I really appreicate it.

The weather here again has been great....I could do this year round....forget the snow!!!!

Have a great day and thanks for reading :)

It sounds like you had a super busy week last week. I hope this one is more relaxing for you!:goodvibes

That's great that your dad is home and feeling better.:goodvibes We'll keep him in our thoughts and prayers.:grouphug:

I got your PM this morning.... Thanks!:goodvibes I'm going to be out of town the next two days, so feel free to send me a PM with the info when you have a chance.

Have a great day!:cool1:

I'm glad your dad is out of the hospital, that has to be very stressful, especially with all the training you have to do! I hope that ends soon so you can get back into a routine. :wizard:

Wow Jamie, what a week. That is so great you stayed on track and did so well with food and still managed to exercise (and 20 minutes is actually a good amount to exercise timewise). I used to do temp work years ago and hated it when places didn't have a place to put my lunch forcing me to eat out! Keep up the good work, you are doing great! And I am so glad for both your parent's sake and yours too for that matter, that your dad is back home. I hope he continues to do well, I'll sure keep him and your mom in my prayers. Good Job!:cool1:

Good Morning!!!

Thanks Tracy, Amy and Amy. I appreciate your kind words!!!

Yesterday was a pretty good day. Busy here at work and it's only going to get busier but that is okay. Food, water and exercise wise I did great. Left work early yesterday because we were going to have someone come out and give us an estimate on some concrete at the house, but five minutes before he was suppose to be there he called and had to cancel. Had a family emergency and was leaving town. So his partner is going to call and set something up for Saturday I hope. I was not mad, family emergencies are unavoidable and I just hope everything works out okay for him.

My DH broke my helmet two weeks ago, he was trying to show me how to change the visor on it as they are NEW helmets, and he broke it. So I had to order the part and I have been waiting not so paitentally for it. It finally came in yesterday so we went to pick it up. The sales manager was showing us how to change the visors, and when he was doing it, it looked pretty easy. We get home and we decided to try it again, well this time I broke the darn thing. Luckly when you buy the part you get a left and a right side part. DH broke the right side and I broke the left side. So I decided that I was not ever changing my visor again...if it's dark out, then I don't ride or I wait. Man what a pain in the butt!!!

Tuesday:
B @ 5:15 1/2 cup cheerios with 1/2 cup milk
S @ 8:30 1 cup fat free yogurt
L @ 12:30 Healthy Choice turkey and potatoes with corn - these come with veggies now, but they are not that good. I usually pick out the yucky ones, but I ate the corn yesterday!
S skipped, was not hungry
D @ 6:00 3 small (very small, equal to the size of 2 really) slices of pizza. It was two for Tuesday at Dominio's and DH loves that deal.....so we ordered it!
Water was good, I had 96 oz yesterday, so close to 100, but I missed it. Exercise was good too, 32 minute walk and a 20 minutes on the ellipitical.

Well I am off to other journals, thanks for reading and stopping by!

Have a great day :)

Great job with staying on track with your busy schedule Jamie! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Your food is looking really good - even a vegetable :rotfl2: .

Have a great day!:cool1:

Hi Jamie, great day yesterday! Awesome on the exercise and food and your water was very good too. I hope the concrete guy's family thing works out okay. And I hope your helmet is fixed for good! Sounds like that is not so easy to change out after all! Keep up your good work, you are really on a roll!

Good Morning,

Yesterday was a great day with the exception of two chocolate chip cookies :( Not really sure what I was thinking, maybe I wasn't. But I was craving them so I had two. But I am proud that I limited myself to two....I could have eaten the whole package.

Talked to my mom and my dad went back to the doctor yesterday had his stiches out and he is healing very well. They have released him to go back to work on April 9. Seems like that is a little soon, but the doctor says that he is doing great. So he is heading back to work in about a week and a half or so. My mom didn't sound concerened either, but I just think it's too soon. But I don't know! I think she is ready for him to go back to work...she won't say anything like that but I know when he takes vacation and sits at home he tends to drive her nuts some days. Thanks everyone for your prayers and pixie dust for him.

We are having a learning breakfast today. I have to try and be good. They are brining in Lamar's donuts...my favorite. They are also bringing in fruit and other pastrys, so I am going to try and stay away from the donuts and just have some fruit. The food will be here right at snack time for me, so that works out. I just need to keep telling myself, FRUIT, FRUIT...no donut!!! On the fruit subject, our grocery store has strawberries buy one get one free, so I am going to go pick some up, and I am going to get plain fat free yogurt to put them in. Something new I want to try!

Wednesday:
B @ 5:15 2 Waffles with little butter and 1/4 cup syrup - I think this may be too much syrup. That is a serving, but I may cut it down next time
S @ 8:30 1 cp yogurt
L @ 11:30 Healthy Choice Chicken and Rice with corn and an apple
S @ 2:30 1 pear
S @ 4:15 2 chocolate chip cookies :(
D @ 6:00 2 slices of leftover pizza
Water was good, 96 oz again, so close.
Exercise was good too, 30 minutes on the elliptical and 20 minutes weights. Need to add that time to my challenage time!

Well I am off to visit other jounals.....Have a great day

Good job with getting in more fruit & veggies:cool1: . The strawberries are so sweet here right now. Try with FF Vanilla flavored yogurt. Really good. Also I had my pancakes last weekend with vanilla yogurt & fruit instead of butter and syrup. It was suprisingly good.

Excellent job getting your exercise in.

:wizard: on resisting the donuts. That is definitely a weakness for me :sad2:

Morning Jamie,

I hope this finds you and your family doing well. I saw on the news last night that there were some tornadoes out your way.... Is everyone okay?

How did the learning breakfast go? Were you able to stick to fruit?

Hope all is well.... Have a great weekend!:cool1:
