Jamie's Journal (comments welcome please!)

Hi everyone!!!!

Well at much as I love Christmas, I am so glad that it is almost over. Things have finally calmed down at work but with the holidays I am just as busy if not more.

Well I got back on track and things have been wonderful!!!! I weighted in yesterday and I lost another pound!!!! YAY for me! I am really proud of myself for this. In the past if I feel off, I would never have gotten back on. Not this time! I made it and that told me that I really can do it this time. Wow....that is great!!!!!!

We are going to my in laws Sunday for Christmas dinner. That will be nice. We don't get to my parents for Christmas any more. Since they moved it is too hard to get out to see them during the holidays. We have to worry about snow and all, so we just stay here. My sister is no longer living with her in laws here in Colorado. I guess she has some friends that she is staying with in Nebraska. She is only two hours away from my parents so that is nice. I know my mom said that they were going to spend Christmas with my sister. The husband is still not in America. Last I heard, he was kicked out of El Salavador and was living in Houndras. He was told that if he came back to El Salavador that he would be arrested. Not that he cares....but that is what he was told. I just wish that he would be a man and face what he did. He may be innocent, no one knows, but the justice system said that he was guilty. If he would just do his time, all would be good. He is setting such a bad example for all of his kids. Oh well, I don't worry about him. I worry more about my sister and the kids. I am just glad that they are closer to my parents. She really needs to be there. They will really help here. Thanks to all of you that sent P&PD. I really appreicate it!

I have to get some last minute shopping done today for the puppies. I always wait until the very last minute. I don't know why. I can't wrap them and put them under the tree until Christmas morning. If I do the puppies will open only theirs. I have gifts under the tree now, but they don't mess with those. The minute I put theirs under the tree, they open them. Then I have to re-wrap them! Crazy puppies.

Well I better get my day going. Have a wonderful Friday!

Congrats on the loss! That is awesome that you managed to lose a lb during the holiday food fest!!!

I'm glad to hear things are settling down with your sister, even though your BIL sounds like a real piece of work... Hopefully she can provide a stable environment for those kids and they will turn out just fine!

How funny about the puppies and their presents! Our puppy wants to eat the bows off everything that is currently under the tree. He is only getting some goodies in a stocking and I think he is totally clueless (this is his first Christmas after all!)

Have a great time at your in-laws and yay for you for sticking to your plan! You are an inspiration to all of us!! :cheer2:

Hi Jamie!

I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and Happy New Year! :goodvibes Take care! :goodvibes

Merry Christmas to you!!! I hope you have a great holiday!

HI All,

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and that each of you is surrounded by the ones that you love.

Friday turned out to be a pretty good day. I went shopping with my MIL and my two DN. OMG how cute they are! They are 5 & 6 and they are two of the most well behaved girls I know. We went to lunch, and then did more shopping. I was able to get a few things for the dogs. I will wrap those tonight and get then under the tree in the morning. I know if I do it tonight, the presents will be opened by morning!!!! So they go under their tomorrow.

We are not too sure what time we are going to go over to my inlaws tomorrow. I know that DH has to stop in at work, so I don't know if we are going to go one our way or if he is going to make a trip to work on his own. Who knows with him!!!!!!

I am really thinking of starting to follow the Biggest Loser weight loss. I got the book for Christmas from my boss (she knew that I wanted it) and I have been reading through it. It does not seem to be too hard. My only problem is that they suggest that one eats 4 servings of fruits and vegetables. Well I am good on the fruits but not on the veggies. I just can't seem to bring myself to eat some of those veggies. They give a list, and I found that I eat about 4-5 out of a list of about 20 or so. But I guess 4-5 is better than none. I am really going to give this a try and see if this will help. I know what I am doing is working, but not as fast as I would like. We will see. I won't be able to buy some of the things that are listed in the book until next month when I do my grocery shopping. I do have a few things in the house now that I can start with. We will see how it goes.

Well I better get going. I have a puppie sitting here waiting to get on my lap. I probably won't be on tomorrow, so I hope everyone has a wonderful day

Merry Christmas to all!!!!

Hi Jamie!

I want to WISH you and your family a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year! ::yes:: Here's to 2006! :drinking:

Good afternoon, Jamie!! I hope that the new year brings you so much success with your weight loss!! I am with you on the veggies...I eat corn, spinich, and some kinds of lettuce. I can tolerate broccolli and green beans, if neccessary. I did make green bean casserole for Christmas, but I used the 99% fat free soup and about 1/3 of the fried onions that it called for...still delicious! I have found that I have to get creative with the veggies that I like!

Good luck with the "Biggest Loser" plan. I hope that you do great!! :sunny:

Happy new year everyone!!!!!

I know I am a little late, but things have been so crazy here. On top of that I have been so sick. I don't know what I came down with, but I don't want it again! My DH got sick, the 24 hour bug and about a week later I got the same thing. Once that was done, I got a nasty cold. My throat hurt and I just felt like....well yuck! I can't believe that I have missed so much that is going on here.

Being sick, I have not done any exercise, so I am hopeing that on Monday I can get back to that. I had no energy what so ever. I am starting to feel better and I should have my energy back by Monday. I am not going to push myself too hard, but I am going to get going again!

I have lost a few more pounds but I am not going to count that as a loss really. I know it is because I have been sick. So I will get back to weighting myself every Thursday starting this week. I should be able to get a better idea of how I am doing then.

We had a friend go to Spain for 4 months and he just got home the week of Christmas, so it was nice to see him again. We all got together on NYE and that was fun. We didn't stay too long, as I was not feeling that hot, but it was nice to get together with him and see him. NYE was pretty nice here, we usually stay home but not this year!

I hope all is well with everyone. I am going to try and get caught up on everyone's journal tonight. Take care!!!

I am sorry to hear you are  . I hope you are feeling better soon! Don't rush back into working out until you are sure your body is fully recovered! And be sure to ease back into it slowly.

I hope those lbs are still off when you do your official weigh in on Thursday! Keep up all your good work! :cool1:

 Jamie,

I hope you are feeling much better. ::yes:: Don't forget to take it easy while you ease back into the exercise routine. I know you can do it, Jamie! :cheer2:

Have a great Sunday! :sunny:

I know exactly what you mean about feeling yuck that was me last week as well. At least we can take it easy and ease back into our workouts this week. I hope you are feeling a ton better now!

Good Morning All,

Well I am definitly feeling better. I have started to ease my way back to exercising. I didn't want to do too much too soon. So I am back to about 20 minutes or so a day.....not the best but it is better than nothing.

Things at work have been totally crazy. Being out for a while on sick leave really stinks!!!! Slowly things are coming together!!!

I have been able to keep real food down and that is great so my eating has been much better. Yesterday I had manacotti and a small salad...boy that was good!!!! My water is really good as well. We are having a breakfast potluck this Friday to celebrate a co-workers 33rd anniversary with the company, so that should be fun. Not sure yet what I am going to bring. Something that is good for me that is for sure!!!!!

I really need to get back in the grove of journaling what I ate for the days. So starting today, that is what is going to happen. I am going to take time each morning, (that seems to be a good time to do that) and journal what I eat. Then at lunch that leaves me time to get to others journals. I know I can do it! So here we go!

Monday:
B @ 5:15 1/3 cup cereal with 1/3 cup milk
S @ 8:30 1 cup yogurt
L @ 12:00 turkey and cheese sandwich with mustard and 1/2 serving gold fish
S @ 3:00 1/2 cup lf cottage cheese
D @ 5:45 2 turkey hot dogs. DMIL got me an old fashioned hot dog cooker....and YUM!
Water intake was 96 oz. Not too bad!

Tuesday:
B @ 5:15 1/3 cup cereal with 1/3 cup milk
S @ 9:00 1 cup yogurt
L @ 11:45 manacotti, small salad with carrots and lf motzerlla cheese, light Itialian dressing
S @ 3:00 skipped- was not hungry
D @ 6:15 2 turkey hot dogs - YUM!
Water was less than Mondays - 72 oz. Still not too bad though.

I have to go to Walmart sometime before Friday. WE were told that we get to wear jeans, (in the 4 years that I have been here, we have been able to wear jeans 1) and Broncos attire. The only bad thing is that I don't have any Broncos attire. So I am going to go to Walmart and grab a shirt for $10.00. One of the ladies that I work with said that she got a jersey there for $10.00 so that works. There is no way that I am passing up the opportunity to wear jeans!!!! Maybe if the Broncos win on Saturday we will be able to wear our jeans again the next time they play! We can only hope huh!!!!

Well I better get back to work. I will try and get to journals now, if not I will be checking in at lunch.

Have a great day!

Your meals look really good! I'm glad to see you are feeling better and that you got a hot dog cooker!

We have Hawaiian shirt day on Fridays. I was harrassed until I FINALLY broke down and bought the least ugly shirt I could find. I am just not thrilled with them! I told my boss if the company would pay me to go to Hawaii, I would gladly pick up a couple shirts!!

Keep up your hard work!

Hello,

Good Thursday morning to everyone!!! So I didn't make it to journals yesterday at lunch.....got a little crazy around here. Things are much better today so I know I will have time to get to them at lunch.

Wednesday was a pretty good day until I got home. I don't know what my issue was but I wanted to eat everything in site. I didn't, but I could have started in the fridge and gone all the way to the pantry without a care in the world. It was bad. So I sat on the couch and watched my soaps!!!!! That helped but I still wanted to eat everything I could. Then it came time for dinner and I had no idea what to cook. DH had to have a quick dinner and then get up to the computer so that he could start class. I cooked him corndogs and that was good for him. I didn't have any though. I finally decided that I was going to cook something about 6 or so.

Wednesday:
B @ 5:15 1/3 cup cereal with 1/3 cup milk
S @ 8:30 1 string cheese
L @ 12:30 HC turkey and mashed potatoes with a small salad
S @ 3:00 1/2 cup cottage cheese
D @ 6:30 pasta
Water was good, had about 72 oz. Didn't make the goal yesterday, but that is okay. Today is a new day, a better day. I will do it today!

I got an email from my DM yesterday, my sister is no longer in Colorado. She moved out to Nebraska right after Thanksgiving. She is living 2 hours west of my parents. My parents saw her at Christmas and she told my DH and DF that she was thinking of putting the kids in school. This would be great being that the kids have never been in school and the oldest is 13. We really didn't think that she was telling the truth about the schools, but my DM said that as of the Jan 4 the kids have been in school. So that is great news. I just hope that she is not blowing smoke. She also told my mom and that she was going to stick it out here in the USA and when her husband decided to come home than they would see how things go. So at least, or I hope, that she has come to her senses. Who knows with her though!

We are starting to plan our WDW trip for next year. DH wants to include the water parks this time. I hate water, don't know how to swim, but I am learning. I was not really happy that he wanted to add the water parks, but the more that I think about it, the more I guess I don't really mind. Adding them would give me the incentive to lose the extra 30 pounds that I want. I won't get into a bathing suit until I lose the rest of this weight. I know I can do it, I just know it. So we will see how it all works out.

Well I have to get back to work.....have a great day! I will get to journals today at lunch!

Hi Jamie-

I think you did great Wednesday not to give in to the munchies. I have a really hard time with that myself. Good for you!

I'm so glad that things are looking more stable for your DS, and especially for her kids. It must be a relief for your whole family.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Jamie!

You did a great job by not letting your eating get out of control. ::yes:: I wish I could do that.

When are you going to WDW this year? We're trying to plan a trip for this December again. I love that time of year, but I do miss being able to swim everyday.

Speaking of swimming, I think you will really like Disney's water parks. ::yes:: They both have lazy rivers that are soooo relaxing. Plus, the wave pools have shallow areas where you can sit down and let the waves roll over you. The themeing is great in both parks! Which one does your DH want to go to?

Hope you have a great weekend, Jamie! :sunny:

Hi Jamie!

Hope you're having fun planning your next Disney trip!! Good job on not letting your eating get out of control the other day, go you!!!

Hope all is well & that you have a great week!
Mike

Good news about your sister-I hope it works out and that she stays.

I'm so excited for you on planning your next Disney trip. I am hoping that DH and I can plan a trip for next year as well but time will have to answer that one...........

Good Monday Morning!!!!

So my plan last week didn't really work out like I wanted it to. I was really hoping that I would be able to update my journal in the morning and then get to other journals during the day. I am really going to try and get to that this week. Things should.....nevermind, I am not even going to say slow. Each and everytime I do the week turns to mush and I don't have any time!

This weekend was pretty good. I didn't exercise each day, bad me, I know. But that is okay! I stayed on track for the most part. The only straying that I did was on Sunday. DH and I got up ate breakfast and then we decided to go shopping. We didn't find what we were looking for, so we came home. I fixed us taco's for lunch and those were yummy! I forgot to take my vitamin with breakfast so I decided to take it with lunch. About 2 hours later, I had a headache. So I had a few fritos.....bad bad bad. I knew as I was eating them that I should have had an apple or some other fruit, but I didn't. But that was the only thing that I really messed up on. I made a great dinner last night and have left overs for lunch today. I was pretty excited!!!!

I weighted myself on Thursday and I was finally back to 182.....I had lost about 5 pounds or so being sick and not eating. I knew that I would gain some of that back when I started eating real foods again. So that being said I didn't count that weight loss as real weight loss. Hope that makes sense. But I did get on the scale this morning, not really sure why, but I lost another pound. So I am now at 181!!! Yippie!!!

As far as Disney goes, not really sure why we plan this the way that we do, but we are planning on going August 27 - Sept 9. Right in the middle of hurricane season! Again, not really sure why, maybe we like this time of year. It is warm but the crowds are not all that bad. My DH wants to do both water parks. Not really sure why. If given the choice, I think he would pick Blizzard Beach (if that is the one with the Summit Plummit) but I really think he was hoping we could do both. we will see though.

Thursday:
B @ 5:15 Quaker weight control oatmeal
S @ 8:30 1 cup yogurt
L @ 12:00 turkey and cheese sandwich, with 1/2 serving of goldfish
D @ 6:00 1 1/2 hotdogs

Friday:
B @ 8:30 1 potatoes, egg and cheese burrito
L @ 12:30 turkey and cheese sandwich with 1/2 Bronco cup cake (Opps)
S -Skipped
D @ 6:15 bacon sandwich
This was the day that we had our breakfast potluck. OMG there was so much really good food. The desk next to mine is empty so that is what we used to put the food on. I so could have eaten everything that was there! Not sure if would have been any good, because a lot of it was meat, but it sure smelled good! We were celebrating a co-workers 33rd anniversary with the company and someone brought in cupcakes that were decorated for Broncos, but also said congratulations. So I had 1/2 the cup cake. Not the best, but I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings......if you know what I mean!

Saturday:
B @ 8:15 2 pieces of wheat toast
L @ 12:00 turkey and cheese sandwich
D @ 6:45 1 1/2 hotdogs

Sunday
B @ 8:00 2 waffles
L @ 11:30 2 tacos with fl cheese
S @ 1:45 less than 1/2 serving fritos
D @ 5:30 two pieces of chicken layed over 1/2 serving of brown rice covered with 1/2 serving lf cream of chicken soup! OMG this was sooooo good. I have some lunch today too.

Well I better get going. Thanks to all that visit my journal, I really appreciate it. Have a great day and keep up the great work!

You are doing great! Way to go resisting all the goodies. I sure wish I had that willpower! :worship:

That is a great incentive to lose your remaining weight. I love water parks! And the best thing I learned about it is to not be self conscious. I used to be petrified to be walking around all day in a swimsuit! Everyone is there to have a good time and if someone is taking time to observe how you look in a swimsuit, their opinions don't count. There are all different shapes and sizes and no one seems to care what anyone else looks like. So get those swimming lessons under your belt and prepare to buy a new suit because you'll need one once you lose that last 30lbs! You are halfway there, I bet you are SO proud of yourself!

Keep it up!
