My husband, dd 13 and her best friend 13 did this yesterday. They loved it!! They were the only ones signed up so it was the girls versus dad. They each had a jeep and driver had to answer clues and then complete the tasks. They all raved about it once back onboard!

Did everyone have to complete all of the tasks? Would you mind telling me what the tasks were? If you don't want to spoil it for others you could PM me. The reason I ask is my son really wants to do this but he has a heart disease. We have to get all physical activities approved by his cardiologist.

:yay: That is great news
I am surprise they were only ones on it.
As I said it was sold out and then I got 2 on on.
I would like to get three more of us on but can't get it.

They had to build a birdfeeder, collect 16 coconuts, peel and eat sugar cain, one from each team had to kayak, all did zip line... They did say it was a lot of running and they were hot and tired afterwards but loved it.

Thank you- only thing that we would have to get approved would be zip lining. I wonder if they would let me and him wait in the jeep for a while if he gets tired?

I've been on this excursion and I would likely not recommend it for someone with a heart condition. Not sure what the condition entails - he doesn't have to run with the group if he doesn't want to but he will be behind if that's the case.

The jeeps run off-road and the route was VERY bumpy because they did not drive slowly.

OMGosh. This sounds so fun. I also see there is one in Cozumel. Has anyone done both for comparison? The Cozumel one is for any age, but the Jamaica one is for 12+. I think the Jamaica one sounds better on paper, but my 5yr old would love to do it.

We did the AR/Cozumel in 2012, booked privately. Took our 9 year old twins and we all loved it. If they haven't changed it, it does not require any land vehicles. You do have to walk (run) several miles around town to a museum, various landmarks, etc. For one clue, you take a small motor boat out into the bay and one member of the team has to dive down into the water to read a clue.

It is very fun, especially if you are a fan of the tv show. Our kids were the youngest team members out of the 4 teams, but we let them do a lot of the clue deciphering. It slowed us down, but we didn't care.

they both look good
the one in Jamica has more thrill things like kayaking and zip lining

I have pictures from the amazing race on my picture website. Not sure I am allowed to post it? If you pm me I will see about sending some.
