Well better late than never I suppose. I've been back almost 8 months and only just got round to finishing my trip report.
Pre Trip: 11/09/04 25/09/04

Sister Kylie Pringle 25/26
Sept 03: My sister and I begin to plan our trip to the world. This would be our second trip to WDW, the first was in September 2002 with our parents. The first time I was not convinced that a Disney holiday was appropriate for a 28 year old. Well despite my reservations I really enjoyed my first time and secretly longed to go back.
Well back to the summer of 2003 and a comment by my sister sowed the seed, would it be possible to afford a trip to the world next year. A brief check of www.virginholidays.co.uk showed that we could save almost £400 per person so we decided to splash out and book Port Orleans Riverside. At the time of booking the French Quarter was closed awaiting renovations and POR was supposed to be one of the quietest moderate resorts.
After weeks of trying to decide which resort to book we decided on POR due to the courtesy boat to Downtown Disney. After booking our holiday to WDW we realised that we couldnt wait a year for our next holiday so booked to go to New York in March 04, while this holiday was really good it proved that we couldnt contemplate an 8 hour flight to Orlando flying cattle class. So, the day after landing I was on the phone to Virgin upgrading our seats to premium economy.
All we had to do now was wait six months until our holiday, every weekend was spent reading the trip reports and planning our holiday. Based on our previous experience and The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World by Bob Sehlinger we planned an itinerary for our two week holiday. We almost stuck to it as well, I would recommend that first time Disney visitors spend the time to create a plan. Without a plan too much time in the world is spent trying to decide what to do, but dont make the plan too inflexible.
We watched in horror as hurricane Charley hit Florida in August and I have to say our selfishness made us worry about our holiday rather than the residents of Florida. A colleague of mine was affected by hurricane Frances and had to change to the west coast this made us seriously reconsider the holiday. After continuing to monitor the situation hour to hour we decided to go ahead with the holiday. An early start on 11/09/04 heralded the start to JAMES & KYLIE'S TRIP TO THE WORLD 2004.
