James and Jeffrey PJ - 05/10/11 - SBP/Attic/UK DP/Wedding Day 2 Arrival

we said "we'd like to look at wedding rings, please" and the standard response was "which one of you is engaged?"

We got a sort of weird, "okay, which of you would like the "woman's ring" and which would like the "man's ring."" It wasn't actually said that way, but, it was clear that they expected one of us to buy a girly looking ring and one to buy a manly looking ring.

We gave up on looking for rings in the stores and just started talking about what we wanted. Once we'd figured out what we wanted we went looking for someone willing to make it -- we also ended up ordering online.

GM -- I'm glad you had a better experience than we did and that you found the right rings so quickly.

It has been to long since I have posted. We are off today to fly down to Florida. It is rain, rain, rain here. Hopefully once we get to Disney World the sun will start to shine. I will try to update and take pictures. I will let everyone know how everything turns out. I am hoping we will finally nail down a vison of our wedding and get some things FINALLY planned.

Wishing you a safe trip and lots of pixie dust for your planning session! Oh - and hopefully some sunshine!! :wizard:

We are back from our panning session... it was so much fun. Lets just say I dreamed David Teutera style on an escape budget. We got our BEO from Elizabeth (florist) today. I am waiting for Jeff to come home and open it. I do believe it is going to take a couple glasses of wine to deal with it. I have a feeling we are going to cutting, cutting, cutting. I will update tomorrow after we dare to open. I still have to post about our planning session. It will come this week.

Update......... we are at 3,000. We have to see the rest of the budget, but not bad so far.

I have been hoarding soda bottles for the last year. I think it is about time to retun themtoday. I have a huge collection sitting in my garage... barely can walk through it. Jeff has been trying to throw them out because I have not returned them. I know he has slipped some past me, but, anytime I see one he has thrown out, I go into rescue misson and retrieve it from the garbage and store it in the garage. Every nickel helps!

It looks like there might be a few nickels here. My grand total came to $18.45. Maybe enough for one wedding favor...except I would have to decide on them.

P.S. The mess is in the garage and the rest of my house is much cleaner ( I swear)

I agree that every nickel counts, especially since you have the wedding in Vermont, the Disney ceremony, and something at home. :) Can't wait to hear how much you saved by holding onto the bottles. :goodvibes

I am thinking of doing something sassy with my hair. Here it is now.

I am thinking some of these might work.

Do you think I can grow it out in time?

images3.jpg

To much like Marge Simpson?

To Drag Queen?

I am not certain if any of these will work but I am keeping my options open.:lmao:

I like the third one!!! :rotfl2:
I really enjoy your posts!!! They really cheer me up.
What time is your ceremony at SBP? As I said earlier in your PJ, I will still be in WDW for your ceremony and would love to come and be nosey (perhaps meet you both). I will look out for the man with the drag queen hairstyle!!!:lmao:

I just discovered your PJ today. I've been reading it at work (very bad, I know) and trying hard not to giggle out loud and give myself away. I am excited about following along with your plans. :yay:

PS, definitely go with the Marge Simpson hair. That's totally fabulous. ;)

Love the Marge do. Are you planning on going the whole hog and adding the face bling too?!!:rotfl:

So here are the save the dates created by Shelley at Impressions We met during our planning session and let me just say we love her and can not wait for the invitations. Shelley listened to both mine and Jeff's ideas and I think she is going to create something great.

The Save the dates are simple but I think they are perfect, plus my sister reads these reports so now I don't have to spend the money to send her one. She can just read it and save us the cost of postage. Every penny counts!

OMG! I love your sense of humor! :lmao:

I'm voting for the Marge Simpson. :thumbsup2

One of my boys could give Bart a run for his money... if I go with the Marge updue I hope that means Jeff does not turn out to be like Homer.

I like the third one!!! :rotfl2:

I am glad you are enjoying them. I have not been updating as much as I should. Stop on by and be nosey. Ceremony is at 10. I was actually thinking of your ceremony during our planning session and we stopped at the Swan. Your ceremony is going to be gorgeous. I did not think I would like the Swan as much as I did... Drag is forbidden for me though LOL it is not pretty. I will have to find the picture. It is scarey!!!!

The Marge do seems to be winning.... if I go with the face bling don't you think it would be the perfect place to add a hidden Mickey.:wizard:

It is a cold rainy day today and I figure today is just as good of a day to start writing about the planning session/ honeymoon. You may be asking what is a planning session/honeymoon? A planning session/honeymoon is what happens when you and your future husband get a once in a lifetime chance to be away from thier children for four days in Disney World. When we get married we obviously will have the kids and since no one has offered to take the kids for the rest of the time we are at Disney( hint, hint) we combined our planning session and honeymoon into one. As I said from the start we are a non-traditional couple. We first sarted with the house, then the kids, the marriage. We just don't seem to like to do things in a typical "straight" linear fashion so I figure why break from tradition now.

We left for Disney September 30th and flew out of Albany, on a cold rainy day. Similar to today.

It was typical running around, dropping of dogs, finish packing, trying to pick up the house... all those last minute things that need to be done before a trip. We arrived at the airport in plenty of time and had a non-eventul fligt (except for some turbulence). The only problem was our flight was an afternoon flight and we arrived in Florida late in the evening.
By the time we located our luggage, Mickeys magical express (which is not clearly marked in Orlando airport) and got to Saratoga Resort it was past eight. At this point in time I was tired, hungry and deaf.Deaf???? Both Jeff and I were just getting over head colds (gifts from the boys) and the pressure from the flight had left both mine and Jeffs ears completly plugged. We were like my father without his hearing aid. We could hear nothing. I looked like a total lunatic trying everything to unplug my ears. A trick that normally works is either yawning or cracking my jaw (nothing worked) So there I am from the airport to the resort moving my lower jaw up and down, side to side... and random yawning. I know I looked deranged.

All of this led up to what was about to happen when we checked in at Saratoga Resort.... more to come later.

Editor Note. As has been established I do not do things in a straight linear fashion I will be adding picture, checking spelling and editing this and future post as we go along.

The STD's are awesome. Such a great idea. I can't wait to see what she does for your invites.

I may just have to join Tinkerbelle 766 and stand around in the background as a groupie. :rotfl: (I live not too far away from Disney).
