YEAH YEAH YEAH ---- I'm all done!!!! Whew........... got the new rates today like everyone else and got my reservations all fixed up and even made all my ADR's!!! Whoo Hoo

Now.................. the looooooooooooooong wait!!!! The CM was funny though, he said,

I have a question about the new rates for 2008 at the AKL ...
If you goto the disney site and look up rates for 2008 they have a studio in value season for 110 per night but when I put in dates for that (aug. 3-10 which is value season) it just comes up with a standard at 225 per night.

Any ideas

I can't find the studio for 110, but if you are planning on getting a studio, you would need to check under Animal Kingdom Villas, not Animal Kingdom Lodge. Even though at the moment this is all the same building, Disney considers it two different resorts for booking purposes.

Under the deluxe resorts listed I do see the lodge but not the villias perhaps there is a goof up on the web page and the villias are showing up for 2008 but not the other room types ... still is a studio villia only 110 per night during value season ????

Okay all you who know more AKL info than I can fit into my brain.....I have a question that I need a pretty speedy answer to, and I hope one or more of you can help me! I have a bunk bed , pool view room booked, and I wonder if you can tell me if the bunk beds are all on one floor, or one trail? I want to make my room request, and I'm not sure what to request until I know the answer to this question. HELP!

The rates will not affect you. We go in December and I had the same question! I emailed my TA (from Magic For Less) and she said it would not affect our package - and it's not paid in full yet. Have fun at AKL - I wish we were at 48 days!!

I don't know the answer to your question, but I can tell you about the pool view bunk bed room we had in December. It was on the 3rd floor (lobby level), Zebra Trail, the last room in the first building off the lobby. The room # was 3422. We requested "near lobby" and that's just what we got! You couldn't beat the location for getting to the pool and the restaurants! HTH!

Temporary Partial Closure of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
Animal Kingdom Lodge at Walt Disney World will be mostly closed to guests from July 9 until September 1, 2007. (These dates are subject to change.)

The temporary near-closure is due to disruption caused by the construction of Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas units within the main structure of the Lodge. Apparently the disruption was greater than anticipated and Disney has decided to move guests rather than inconvenience them during their stays.

Disney is calling guests who are currently booked at the Lodge in chronological order to assist them with moving to another resort. Guests have been offered rooms at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and at various Disney Deluxe resorts for the same price they were paying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Each case is handled differently, based on the room type booked and availability at other resorts for the dates in question.

If you booked through a travel agency, your travel agent will receive the call and will contact you with options.

It appears a few rooms will remain in use, but not many. I have been told that the following room types probably will NOT be affected: Pool View Bunkbeds, Suites (except the Vice Presidential and Presidential Suites, which reportedly will be used as a temporary Concierge Lounge) and Kilimanjaro Club (Concierge) Standard rooms. Guests staying in those room types may request a move, but the decision to move them will be handled on a case by case basis.

Some of the new Disney Vacation Club units are open and will remain in use.

The restaurants are expected to remain open with regular hours.
