Hi all,

If I get to pull this trip off in Sept/Oct (booked - DH has yet to agree though) to the AKL I've stated we could actually "relax" this trip and have lots of lodge and pool time. Now I'm starting to freak as I'm worried about the construction noise outside if we are indeed spending most days lounging at the most awesome pool.....anyone there lately and how noisy was it.

I too am waiting to hear some kind of updated report on the situation. We are 43 days out banana, and I'm hoping that no news is good news! Anybody just back from AKL with news?

I always hated the "WL is better than AKL" or "AKL is better than WL" battle! What was the point? Some people took their resort choices way to personal.....

Just finished booking AKL for a Christmas trip in December!!! I have seen a few pictures here of AKL decorated for Christmas but does anyone have a trip report or something during that time? What started out as an innocent joke has turned into a Grand Gathering's sized event from Dec 19 to 23rd

I can't believe it but I am nervous again. I guess there is more guarantee that Concierge Standard rooms won't be moved. I emailed the IPO and they said I probably won't be moved. I am thinking of calling the hotel and speaking the concierge directly.

I am getting excited! This trip will be different! We are ending out trip with AKL, just to relax and not go the parks!
I remember our last trip, we just relaxed in their lobby for a few hours before our Jiko reservation, and it was sooo nice and comfortable.

This is our first AKL reservation, so I am so happy. I plan on getting breakfast every morning (after sleeping in) and eating out on the balconly. How peaceful!

I am hopeing that the Christmas rush will be heading to the parks onmy last days, so the resort will be quiet!

Should I be worried about construction for our December trip? Also, I know they stopped booking rooms for now for December, so should I assume that I won't get a discount code? I booked a Savannah View room and was banking on a discount. We'll probably still stay at ALK anyway, unless we can get a good discount on another deluxe (but there is not one I'd rather stay at). It's our last trip for a long time (DH wants to explore other vacation destinations, the horror!) and I've always dreamed of staying at AKL, so my heart is really set on it.

I just booked a trip for December 19th at AKL, 3 rooms... The CM told me that there will be construction outside that you may be able to see. Fine by me...

32 days till my ASMu/AKL/WL trip!!! Oh my gosh, I have SO much to do!!! And I can't ask the kids to help, b/c they don't know we're going!

WOW a surprise trip! We were not able to pull that off. However, we do have a little sneaky sneaky up our sleeves as well. After our first 8 nights at AKL the boys think we are going home...however, we will be heading over to the GF for another week. I don't know how you are holding the whole trip inside. I am dying that I cannot talk to them about the second part of ours!

What do you have left to do? Have fun on your trip!!
