Is there any way to find out the times of the activities for the kids at the lodge? We are planning our day there before the XMas party that night. We are planning to eat at Chef Mickeys for Brunch. I just don't want to miss anything by leaving the lodge, but we've got to do CM that day!!!

jaycns...that's perfeact! We are eating at both Boma and Jiko while we are there! We are going to take full advantage of the lodge!:thumbsup2

I plan on ordering the cake too! YUMMO!:)

I have been reading your trip report from Sept...I love it! My DD has a crush on your youngest...she says, "Mommy, isn't he handsome...":rotfl: Your trip report is great! I am really enjoying it, and so is DD!:cutie:
:flower3: How sweet!! That little stinker boy!! ;) He is always making friends that are girls who "mom, she wanted to hug me...ICK" HA HA HA:lmao: I am dreading the day when he changes his mind!!:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

Thanks for reading my trip report. I do so love writing them! It helps me relive all of the wonderful moments we were lucky enough to share as a family at the happiest place on earth. :cloud9:

Another thought I had was the arcade or letting your DD spend some time at Simba's Clubhouse if she would enjoy some "kid only" fun.

OH and I almost forgot...my boys are planning on doing Bush Camp at AKL. It's a kid's only program that has a character visit, teaches them about Africa and the animals and I think they have snacks as well. My boys are really excited about that. I am not sure if they run it every day but I do know they run it on Saturdays.

HAVE FUN on your trip and thanks again for saying the sweetest things and making me smile!!:cloud9:

When we were there, many of the kids activities were in the afternoon run by the lifegaurds near the pool over by the door to Simba's Clubhouse. They post a list so you can decide what you would like to do. We were there near Halloween and they made trick or treat bags one day and Smores ghosts another.

I'm assuming some of the activities cost something (Bush Camp??) Is that correct?
Here is a description I "borrowed" from Magical Moutain.net

"Starting on March 24th, 2007 Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge has opened its kid's program, Bush Camp to all guests. Bush Camp, a 3 hour experience for kids ages 6-14, will teach kids about African Culture through games, activities, food and crafts. The children will also get to explore animals on the savannah, and "play along" with a character from "The Lion King".

The cost for Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Bush Camp is $70 plus tax per child and hours are from 1:00pm to 4:00pm every Saturday. You must guarantee your reservation with a credit card. You must cancel more than 24 hours in advance for a refund. $20 of the cost is donated to the Wildlife Conservation Fund. DVC members receive a 10% discount.

The program can be booked by calling 407-WDW-PLAY."

So, yes, you are correct, for that program there is a charge.

Does anyone know for sure the $ of the 1 bedroom villa? And if I could even book with CRO for June 2008?

Pilferk thought it was about $425? Not sure about what season that is?

Thanks

...here ya go.....HAPPY READING!

OMG! I've been reading for over an hour now, and I'm up to day seven. Hysterical, so funny. I'm enjoying it more than you know, but I must say I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandmother's passing. So sad, losing those we love. But I truly believe they are in a better place and are still with us....you just have to listen and feel their presence...
That being said, I have to go and get my shower for work in the morning, but I will be back to finish reading before bed! Oh, and I have yet to find day #2.....but I'm assuming it's there somewhere......

Disney Vacation Club to Build Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas

Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas will be part of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, which Travel & Leisure Family magazine recently honored with the No. 4 spot on its list of the 50 greatest family resorts in the United States and Canada.
The new, home-like accommodations are scheduled to open in phases beginning in fall 2007, with completion scheduled for April 2009. The project's first phase will include 134 remodeled accommodations on the fifth and sixth floors of the existing Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, and subsequent phases will include construction of 324 Vacation Homes in a new village of buildings, for a total of 458 Vacation Homes. The project also calls for construction of an expanded animal savannah along with a new table-service restaurant, a themed pool and water-play island, a merchandise shop, sports-and-recreation facilities and more.

Disney Vacation Club, now celebrating its 15th anniversary, offers flexibility and savings on decades of future vacations at Disney destinations and more than 500 other vacation hotspots around the world. Membership has doubled since 2000 to include more than 100,000 families, which represents more than 300,000 individuals from more than 100 countries and every U.S. state.

"I am delighted to announce that our Members will have yet another place to call home with Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas," said Jim Lewis, president of Disney Vacation Club. "This begins another exciting new era for Disney Vacation Club as we continue to explore future destination possibilities both domestically and internationally."

Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas will be the eighth Disney Vacation Club Resort, joining five others at the Walt Disney World Resort, one in Vero Beach, Florida, and one on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Memberships have sold out at the first six Disney Vacation Club Resorts, and sales remain ahead of schedule at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, which opened in May
2004.

Kim,

Thanks for all the new info. Have you heard anything about the restaurants in the Animal Kingdom Villas? Since I'm not a DVC member, will I be able to use the facilities (by that, I mean all the facilities:lmao:) at the new villas while staying at the Jambo House?
