Thanks for all the new info. Have you heard anything about the restaurants in the Animal Kingdom Villas? Since I'm not a DVC member, will I be able to use the facilities (by that, I mean all the facilities) at the new villas while staying at the Jambo House?

The new restaurant will be called Saana (means "work of art" in Swahili) and will be a family sit down place serving breakfast and dinner. It'll will be open to ALL guests of WDW, not just DVC patrons. From what I've read and heard from our guide, it's going to have a HUGE picture window overlooking the savannah.

The other amenities are the big question....or rather, one of them is. I THINK you'll (as an AKL guest) be able to use all of them, but we've gotten conflicting reports from our guide. You'll certainly be able to use the courts, stores, fitness club, etc. The one big question is the pool and water play area....and whether AKL cash guests will be allowed to "pool hop" to Kidani village. I think, ultimately, they probably will allow it...but I've not gotten a firm acknowledgement of that as yet.

Okay - my DS - who just turned 5, still occasionally wets the bed......Will AKL have preventative measures on the bunk beds to deal with this? Or do I have to ask?

I LOVED the pool view and I think it's the best location...some of those savanah rooms are waaaayyyy out in the Lodge.

Shhhhhh - Me tooo - I actually have a week booked, just still trying to talk DH into it. I have a feeling he knows it is actually booked since I've said things like - when we check in on Sept 30th!

And it was pretty cool to look out and see the MGM Water Tower...never did figure out if that was TOT as the tall bldg in the picture.

...couple??!?!? Couple??!?! COUPLE???!?!? MY 'tude changed after a few MINUTES......

We were at AKL for four nights and it literally took me three of them to stop pouting about having left the WL and moved to AKL - BUT now I just want to go back!!!! (SHAMELESS PLUG TIME) More details are in the trip report in my signature below.

Paying the balance of my trip on my Disney Visa tomorrow (got to get those points in, you know!)! My TA asked me where I want to move, IF they should happen to have my name on "the list." Told her POLY!!! Our friends we're going with are staying there, so it would work really well, if AKL doesn't. I'll let you guys know what AKL says tomorrow when she calls to check on my booking (I'm due to arrive at AKL Sept 7).
