My teens want to skip this trip, so it's only 3 of us. :confused3

I am kind of sad and happy all in one. I miss those days when they were all little and loved vacations, now it's so much more complicated. But I am happy I can bring DH to AKL!!

In 2007, it was me DD6 and DD14 and her friend at AKL. I guess in 2008 it will be me, DH and DD7. In 2006 it was all of us and it really wasn't much fun because the teens just don't get along and complain ALOT. They just want to go on our beach trip, so grandma will come stay with them and I can live with that!! :grouphug:

I did the same thing! I first booked POP and then changed to AKL.
It's so weird that your teens would want to skip going to Disney! My upcoming trip was supposed to be just me ( age 24) and my sister (age 20), but my little brother (age 18) begged to come with us. So now it's a siblings trip minus mom and dad.

I was one of those who had a great view of the people pen :rotfl2:

and was very disappointed--at first! We saw SO many animals and before long we didn't even notice that people pen--there was too much going on out in the savannah and we just loved it. So, don't despair if you end up on a Savannah other than Arusha. The Uzima savannah in September was VERY active and we were thrilled with the numbers of animals we saw!

As you see, I have found AKLGoofy's story, it was fun to reread!

One thing I noticed was how often there were pages after pages without any pictures! So, please, if anyone has any pictures, please post them. And all of you with upcoming trips: take many pictures and post them for future readers!

We stayed savannah view in 2004. I never knew that our view included a "people pen" until I came here and then looked back at our pictures! We loved our view! It was awesome! Don't fear the people pen. We never even noticed it!

I am looking forward to those days. To quote my DD16 "mom, i have some great memories of wdw, and i see myself bringing my kids there someday, but i want to go other places where there is less little kids" :confused:

Sunrise Safari??? Does anyone know where they are holding the breakfast these days? Tusker house is a character meal now so that is not it. Trying to plan the morning and would love to know what part of the park we will be in for breakfast. Thanks

I am quite sure that I have read a report from someone that the breakfast is now at Pizzafari. Which would put you in a very central location to start your touring :goodvibes

Well, I called this morning and changed my May ressie from 2 rooms at POP, to AKL standard view AAA rate. My 2 teens decided to skip this trip and because of the savings, I upgraded us to AKL. Can't wait for DH to try this resort. DD7 can't wait to show him her slide!!! We also missed out on expolring the resort this past June, so I am looking forward to doing that. I have worked in 2 off days to be used for shopping, water park or resort time, so I am hoping at least one morning could be reserved for resort time. I will try to upgrade us if a code comes out for savanna view, but i was happy with our Standard view room this past June. Do you think construction to the main building will be done when we are there? Can't wait to go back!!!!

Have a great trip! And good luck with getting a code. The construction in the main building is supposed to be completed in January 2008.

I remember when he was "planning" that trip, and some of us oldies were giving him tips and ideas!!!! It turned out to be an amazing trip! We all thought Susan was a very lucky girl indeed!!! It's a great
story to read.
