My vote went to the Live/Countdown option. CB moves too fast. "JAMBO!....." would be falling off page 1 daily and, to me, there's nothing worse than trying to read a thread where every 2nd or 3rd post is "bump" or "subscribing".

This is such a great thread.....every potential AKL/AKV resort guest NEEDS to see this.....I think it would get the most traffic somewhere on the resorts thread!
Besides, aren't we all counting down to our next trip all the time>! lol

Whether its 1 mth, 1 week, 1 year or 2 years...thats why we are all here Oh...and to chat!! lol

I voted for Countdown, too. I am not sure which thread is supposed to move where, but as long there is one thread around for all the AKL-fans to hang out at a proper place, I am happy!! I am still continuing my project, I hope I will update the links during the weekend, so if anyone has already seen everything , you will soon get more!

Hi Everyone, I just got back on 11/14.......Oh Boy were you guys right about that hotel, it was wonderful. It was so relaxing, the pool was great. nice atmosphere. everything was wonderful.

We had a pool view on the 4th floor it was in a great location, the weather was picture perfect everyday.

i will be returning to this hotel. Thanks for all the gret info you guys supplied in this thread, it was very helpful. Thanks again!

Hello all. Strange request. Does anyone have a photo of the headboard on the master bed in the DVC showroom for the Animal Kingdom rooms?

I am putting together a Jungle Nursury for baby boy due in a few months, and would love to either frame or use photo for "inspiration" for painting on the wall....

Any other ideas for a Jungle room, baby simba clip art links, any of that would be so appreciated!

I know that we should have them add it to our reservation, but I know sometimes they read the requests and some times they dont. At least with me asking them I know for sure that they hear me.

The room assigners WILL read your requests - I believe 4 to 5 days prior to your check-in date. (it's faxed requests that may or may not get read.) I'd go ahead and have the request added to the reservation; you'll have a much better chance of getting the area you want. When you check-in, you can ask again!

I agree! I think having it noted on your reservation beforehand and repeating it when you check in is the beyt make to be sure that someone will notice it! Good luck for getting your request!

If you look on a map of AKL (or AKV Jambo house in your case, which is the same ) you will see that there are three savannahs: one in the middle of the U and one on each side. The middle one (Arusha Savannah) does not have prominent people pens while the other two have them. So your best bet would be to ask the person you are renting from to request a view of Arusha Savannah. If you want to be close to the pool and the restaurants, you should request Zebra Trail, Arusha Savannah view. As this seems to be the most popular location, I am not sure how good your chances are. But then I have read many reports from people who were at first very dissapointed with their "people pen" view, but then realized that they actually looked out to a very active area of the savannah where there were lots of animals to see. I guess the animals do not always choose the prettiest part of the savannah as their favourite hang out!

We are going in January for our honeymoon and the only request I made was for a King bed. However we plan to TRY for a little pixie dust upon arrival. We are booked in a standard view because that was the only thing available when I applied the January discount code, however upon check-in we plan to ask if there are any savannah rooms in Zebra Trail available. MAYBE we'll be lucky enough for an upgrade since we are going in the "off-season" and will be arriving on the 6th before the marathon begins.
