I loved our location! No elevator to wait for and right off the lobby and the last room in the first sections. After coming home at midnight, our room seemed far enough away. I can't imagine having to walk ALL the way to the last section of rooms. I don't think my legs could have carried me much further! Good luck planning!

Thanks a lot for the pictures! I think I'll choose the Savannah Rooms. They look nice (I also looked on allearsnet) and I'll save $405 by choosing that instead of the Deluxe Savannah Room.......oh shoot, now I'm all excited again....what am I gonna do until May?

brookelizabeth - are you getting the pre-wedding jitters yet? I hope you have a wonderful trip and wedding and wish you the happiest days and years ahead. My DH and I celebrate 20 years on the 17th.

meloneyb21 - Glad the photos helped. I think you'll find the savannah view just fine for only the 3 of you. Since your DD is a toddler, you may want put some consideration into the bunk beds - she's probably going to want to climb to the top bunk. Happy planning!

...thank you for thinking of me...I spoke to my mom on Saturday, and the 'finality' of it all is finally hitting her....she had been staying with cousins [about an hour away] while they were doing the 9-day Novena (the rosary is said every night around 7PM for nine days straight, followed by a light meal)...now, it's just her and the 4 walls.....

However, there is a Marriott that is being built nearby, right near the Aguadilla Airport. Since she speaks English and Spanish fluently, I suggested that she try to get a part-time job there (just 3 or 4 hours a day) to get her out of the house, meet new people, and make a couple of bucks on the side...we are looking into getting airfare for her so that she can spend Thanksgiving with us.....

tink-loved the pictures of your son in the parade-is this the one at night that leaves from the Zawadi Marketplace??? (My Son would love it...how long does it take....?

Also, please someone must have had experience with Simba's club...please...I'm feeling a little dejected...I know I haven't been here in a little while, but since I've been back I'm having a hard time getting answers to my questions.... ...trying to break back in... :

Thank you!!! So far, no serious jitters. I'm still mostly concentrated on getting everything done. We don't have a ton to do yet, but still plenty to keep us busy!

Congratulations on the 20 years as well! That's a beautiful thing to hear!!!

Hi All! Just getting back into the swing of things after 6 days at AKL! I promise, I will do a trip report... and let you know where it is.

A quick word on the DVC @ AKL (AKV)-- we were looking to do the DVC presentation while we were there, but on Wed, we were walking around the parks and the hotel and couldn't find anyone! All the DVC stations were closed! Finally, as we were leaving a wine seminar to head over to Le Cellier for dinner, we saw a couple of people hanging around the DVC stand. After talking a bit, we learned that they had *just released* the new press release about AKV! They only told us because we were in FL, and the press release was due in the FL/CA papers the next morning.

Here's the scoop:
They are beginning with renovating the 5th and 6th floors of the Kudo trail. (I think this may include the Ostrich Trail as well.) These villas should be ready by late 2007. Then, they will build a new building (with a second pool) on that side of the hotel/savannah. (I wonder what will happen to all the people pens on that side?) This will come in two phases, one to be completed by the end of 2008 and completely done by the end of 2009. I also learned that Saratoga Springs is 80+% full already.

It was really cool to be one of the first people "in the know"! Too bad I couldn't run over to a computer and post on the DIS!

We tried to find someone at the AKL DVC desk the following day, but no one came all morning, and we had to get on the ME back to the airport. So, I guess we'll save the DVC presentation until the next trip in Dec. Maybe by then they'll know even more!

Gosh... I wish vacation would never end! Once I've started the trip report, I'll post the link here and give you all a quick summary.

Right now, I have mixed feelings about AKL... but, that may have to do with the fact that I don't think we stayed long enough! I'll have to sort it all out in the trip report, I guess.

To those of you going soon-- make sure you set up your trip to feel relaxed and spend time in the hotel! AKL is no place to go commando!

(Hey... if I spelled my middle name with a "K" instead of "C" I would be AKL instead of ACL!)
