I'm sorry, I was not trying to embarass you :goodvibes

 I am very embarrassed that I did that...I even proof read it, I guess when you know what you are trying to say you read it as you mean it. I am a nurse remember so body parts come second nature. I am glad I was good for a laugh.

I would call everyday to check, even once you arrive. Someone might cancel, good luck :wizard:

Since I can't get ressies for dinner at Boma during our stay (darn free dining!) I'll have to rely on the culinary tour for a sampling.

(I did manage to get breakfast ressies for one morning during our stay)

I am positive the culinary tour is free, although I haven't been on it. I must have been at that darn pool bar sucking down drinks during tour time! :)

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you all the way through the end of Day 2:

www.susanandbob.com

Remember, soft chair, cold drink, phone off the hook, etc...

It's not pretty, but you can read it (I hope). I'll have a place for feedback there up sometime this evening if I can figure out all of Yahoo's cut-and-pasting of code.

Hope you all enjoy, and thank you again for all the help and support you've given throughout this project. Susan wants to get on and do a little thanking herself so expect to see a post from her using this account here in the near future.

Anyways the culinary tour is complimentary you start at Jiko and then go to Boma. The tour is suppose to be an hour or so but ours lasted almost 1.5 hrs.

It was very funny and I laughed and smiled, so no need to be embarassed, you made me laugh and smile!!!! That's always good!!!

Thanks about the culinary tour, do you think it would be interesting to a 6 yr old?? I'd really like to do it, but, I wouldn't want him to be bored. Thanks!!

Oh, I love how you have it in little sections so I can read a bit at a time! I have been so impressed with all your preplanning and teasers, and I am looking forward to reading all the details of your trip.

Thanks about the culinary tour, do you think it would be interesting to a 6 yr old?? I'd really like to do it, but, I wouldn't want him to be bored. Thanks!!

The really embarrassing thing was when I first re-read the quote I didn't catch it at first...I was never very good at spelling that is why they have spell check right??? Oh well such is life...

As for a 6 yr old being bored he might be but the taste testing may keep his attention. Now personally the Boma portion was more interesting than the Jiko b/c David walked us from station to station and explained all the dishes. Then we got to taste our choice of soup...I chose the Carrot Ginger YUMMY!!!! Very much like my favorite Butternut Squash. But at Jiko my attention was kept by eating the different flat breads and hummus.

The other interesting thing I found out was after you eat at Boma you can ask for a recipe card from the hostess or wait staff and you write down your name, address, and what dish you want the recipe for and they will send it to you. Now I know that on allearsnet.com you can get the recipes but the Butternut Squash Soup one is NOT the Boma recipe. I had tried making it at home and it was horrible and nothing like Boma's. I spoke to David about it we compared ingredients and they were not correct ones. Of course stupid me forgot to fill out a card.

If you have any other questions let me know.

I predict this thread will become very quiet this afternoon as we all head over to bob's website to live vicariously through Mr. & Mrs. Aklgoofy!!

Bob, thank you for giving me something ENJOYABLE to do on this Friday night! :wave2:

Thanks for the info. I think we might try it, I'd love it, I'm just not sure he'd be interested for an hour or longer!! Kids......... :confused3 LOL

This does sound interesting, do you need to make reservations for this or is there a set time everyday?

Bob, sorry but I have to register a complaint. You sir have cheated all of us.
When reading the first installment of your report, I found myself thinking, why is Bob not a writer. I couldn't help but feel that you have cheated the world by not sharing your talent. Can't wait for day 3!

...yo, BOB, ol' buddy, ol' pal, compadre, bro', you are my brother from another mother.....all I can say is: Do your fingers have trouble catching up with all the thoughts in your brain as you furiously pound that keyboard??? :teeth: Please say that you will have this amazing journey printed and bound sometime in the near future....

(BTW ~ I can just picture those RUDE folks looking at you taking pix of your FOOD...ya gotta admit, watching a person taking photographs of their meal has GOT to look a bit weird :confused3 - I, for one, applaud those who take the time to do just that, to share with the rest of us DIZnuts!)

...can't wait for the NEXT installment.....
[PS ~ I gotta ask (later) about the particulars of that Segway tour ~ my DFam would LOVE to do that! :thumbsup2 ]
