Just dropping in to say HI to everyone! I have been super busy at work and.....Our DSIL (the one just back from Iraq) and our DD were here for a nice long visit. Between their visit, training new employees and Getting ready for our Thanksgiving/Christmas AKL and Poly vacation I have not been on the board for some time.

Kimmar, I am so sorry to learn about your grandmother. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I am sure you have many wonderful memories as well as your sweet family to help you through this difficult time. Remember, there is a huge group of people here to care about you.

I have a LOT of reading to do if I am going to catch up with you all. I hope I can get the time to catch up. There is only 7 weeks until we will be in WDW

Briar*rose - Congratulations on your engagment. I am looking forward to reading your trip report. What a wonderful place to get engaged. Besure to let us know when you add the pictures. You know how we all LOVE AKL pictures here on this thread.

A note on the room safes at AKL. I was surprised how much stuff I was able to fit into that small space. I don't know if it would hold a lap top. But it did hold our camera, wallets, mousekeeper envelopes and Disney Dollars. I hope they are big enough to hold a lap top. I now own one and plan on taking it to WDW. I am seriously considering doing a "Live from WDW thread". What do you think?

I have to run, but hope to be back later with a longer post about our upcoming SURPRISE trip.

Hmm something here makes me think you are going to the lodge sooooooooon!

Just got back from Disney Saturday!!

My stay at AKL was FANTASTIC as usual....I didn't want to leave.

I got engaged too!!!!!

I'm writing a trip report, I just put up the first part today ("I'M ENGAGED a.k.a. A Freak, A Closet Case and 2 Noobies Go to Disney!)....I hope to post some pictures by the end of the day!!

I took soooooooooooooooo many Lodge pictures!!!!!!

I was sorting through my pictures for 2001 for some to post in the photo threads, and I came across this one:

Does anyone know what would be on the other side of those windows? I'm guessing they aren't guest rooms, due to the safety factor, but I can't figure out what would be there!

I was sorting through my pictures for 2001 for some to post in the photo threads, and I came across this one:

Does anyone know what would be on the other side of those windows? I'm guessing they aren't guest rooms, due to the safety factor, but I can't figure out what would be there!

When we were in the laundry room, there were big windows with gates on them, just like that. At night they pull the blinds, but during the day, the blinds are open. I'm guessing that's it....Also, the kids club, Simba's, is right next to the laundry room, but I'm not sure if they have windows or not.

POOL BAR: We were there when it closed at 9:00 p.m. Our friend said he (the bartender) always closes promptly at 9:00. After that if you want a drink, you have to go inside to the bar.

We were there last week also....We hung out at the pool all day on Monday and I was proudly wearing my LGMH....

It's going to take me a while to read up!

We have been back from Disney for what seems like eons! (actually only 3 months), and already another trip has popped up for us next July to Disneyland! Never been there, I am sure it won't be the same, but am looking forward to it just the same. Any pointers???

Yes they do! They leave a packet of regular & decaf coffee with sugar packets(reg & splenda), creamer, & stir sticks.

Hey tinknme...not to be this into the ground but are they pods or filters...being the coffee madwoman that I am I'm thinking of bringing my special brew... lol...I like strong coffee...

There've been some great photos and I'm happy to see that there are such great views to be had from a pool view room.... (that's what I have...as I couldn't sell DH on the savannah view (at least not this time..

I definately plan on spending time exploring the fabulous AKLodge and we have some extra suprises in store for the kids like the Family Magic Tour and an Illuminations Cruise... oh and the MVMCP...

Hey having been away from over the boards for over a month, I don't know-do we ever still do ZDomes on Friday-I really could use a couple...it's been dicey recently....

I NEED MY TRIP BUT I HAVE TO WAIT 2 MORE MONTHS.... : :

When we went in Jan. we took our own Coffee & filters. Buy the smallest filters you can find. The coffee in the packets is not the best, but will do in a pinch. If you like strong coffee, definetly take your own.

...I do, I do....the laundromat is there - I know, cuz' I had been doing laundry one morning, and I decided to look out the window..... BTW ~ there IS a second laundromat on the third floor (in the Kudu Trail)...this one is located next to the Cub's Den...
