We are planning to stay at AK Jambo June 2010 in a standard view 1 bedroom. (can not do a value beacuse we will have 5). What are the viewing areas like to view the animals. Are they outside or do they have indoor viewing areas? I have never visited this resort. I was hoping they would have some indoor areas where I could enjoy a early cup of coffee before the kids wake up. Anyone have pictures of the viewing spots?

thanks, Tracy

The inside area is near the lobby, but you don't see many animals when you sit inside, that has standing room only on a deck area. It's on the Sunset savannah. There are plenty of outside view areas that have rocking chairs on the Arusha savannah. There is one on either side of the lobby, then there are others along the walkways to the room, I think those are on the second floor.

Kidani may have more areas inside to view the animals. It seems to me there were lots of glass walls on the savannah side, but I didn't pay that much attention. Kidani would have 2 bathrooms in a 1 bedroom for the same amount of points. Is there a reason you picked Jambo to stay in?

Although this isn't really a viewing area, I could see the animals. When you said "morning coffee", I immediately thought of this. It was right across the hall from my standard view villa, and evey morning, I'd sit here in my PJs and robe, while everyone else still slept. I loved this little spot and never saw anyone else around (except a few walking by).

I was leaning towards Jambo because of the quick service dining at Mara's.
Our family make up is dh, dd15, dd8, dd5, and me. dd5 is my little "scaried cat" she is very afraid of loud noises and fireworks plus she does not go on many rides. What usually happens is we tour the parks together until about 3:00 then return to the hotel for swimming. Dh, dd15, and dd8 then head back to the parks for a quick service meal and more rides, parade, fireworks etc. Dd5 and I usally stay at the hotel and do things and eat a quick service meal.

Does Kidani have a Community Hall? And is the swimming area better at Kidani?

Thanks, for all your help, Tracy
