JAMBO Everybody...An August 2011 TR (Completed May 13)

Awww, that sucks that you feel sick when riding ST. It was very sweet of your niece to offer to sit with you. My nephew got to be the spy and he was so excited about! haha. I enjoyed the ride.

I also got to take my other nephew on RnR for the first time and he absolutely loved it. It made my heart feel really good to hear him screaming and smiling on the ride.

Hope you and Jasmine are having a good Thanksgiving weekend.

:woohoo: on DHS having low crowds! I'm glad you did not have to deal with the TSMM mad dash.

Oh no Star Tours does not sound good - I have to admit we never made it here but after your description of it I'm happy about that!

Aaw that is sweet that MM wanted to ride RnRC with you :cutie: Can't wait to hear her thoughts on this as well as all about your lunch at Sci Fi :goodvibes

Y'all ever tried the outlet mall about 15-20 min east on I4? Can't remember the name of the mall but there's a Disney outlet store in there. I was in there one time and found a DCL shirt that was really cute. It was pink (okay.. so it was only mostly cute since pink just ain't me) and it simply had the DCL logo in like rhinestones or something on the front. And it was only $4!!!!

We haven't because we never have a car...but I think next trip we'll have to do it just once!

Whew!!! I was worried I may have totally misread how you would treat the poor child. I do hope she continues doing well in school and grows up and gets a great job because she's gonna need the $$ for the therapy sessions.

I keep telling Jasmine that's what my stock options are for....future therapy for her:lmao:
And about ST.... at least now you can say you've done it and you never have to do it again.
Never again....ever, ever ever....I'll just hang out while they all ride!
Can't wait to hear about Sci-Fi and see pics. I've not been there so I'm going to live vicariously through you.

I'll have that one up tomorrow my friend!

I finally had a chance to get all caught up again, and I hope you guys are having an awesome thanksgiving weekend.

I never got a chance to respond to your comment, but our trip was awesome, just unfortunately this is my last year of university and it's been a really busy and tough semester so no time to do a trip report. As such i don't really even have time to follow along on all the tr's I wanted to so I just picked a couple and of course your's was one of them.

That's so sweet how MM always picks you to ride with, you guys seem to have such a special relationship.

Im glad she was finally tall enough for rock n roller coaster, and I can't wait to hear what the girls and Jeff think of sci-fi

We are having a great Thanksgiving Dinner....althought we are spread all over the place. Geodoc is at the Jets home opener, Jasmine and Jeff are out celebrating their one year anniversary and Peg and the girls are visiting with a friend who is in from out of town! Hope you're having a great long weekend!

University comes before a TR....(did I really just say that:lmao:) I am so glad you choose ours to be one that you would continue to follow, it just wouldn't be the same with you.

She's my pal that's for sure...but if Jasmine is around, forget it! She is stuck to her like glue!:lovestruc

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Well the Habs do like to help new teams get a good start in their new homes. It would be pretty rude to beat them on the first day.

That's what I think....and we just scored so it's 2-1 for the Habs as I type this!! I just heard what the 50/50 draw winnings will be so I sent Geodoc a text asking if he wins if we can go back to WDW and he said yes....twice!!!!:woohoo:

The entree from Sci Fi that I loved and had been dreaming about since I had it in March was the Beef and Blue Salad. I asked the waitress if the kitchen would do it any way and she said "No, we don't even have lettuce anymore."
:confused3 There are a couple of other salads on the menu so I'm sure they have lettuce. Not to mention I had lettuce on my burger. I was a little peeved about being lied to. I mean just tell me the kitchen won't do it and that's fine, I used to wait tables and I know how cooks can be, but to say "we have no lettuce" was ridiculous. :rotfl: Sorry about my little rant. It was just such a disappointment. I don't think I'll eat there again unless they were to bring it back. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Oh yum, that does sound delicious! We have no lettuce...what's up with that....I hate when people think we're complete morons and lie to us:rolleyes1

UGH! The humidity in that first picture looks awful! My family was just like yours and had to ride ST first and then twice in a row :)

The picture from Writer's Stop is so cute! I love how much you love being an aunt. I feel the same way :goodvibes

Ugh is right....every morning, that's how my first few pictures looked:scared1:

Being an aunt really is amazing isn't it?

How cool that he got to be the spy:thumbsup2 I'm glad you enjoyed the ride...I'm trying to figure out when I stopped being able to do these rides...I think when I turned 40ish!!!

MM didn't say a word...that's why I eventually put my hand over to make sure she was still there:lmao: She was speechless I guess:banana:

We are thanks so much!

Low crowds just make my day...I feel so much more laid back when I don't feel like I have to rush for everything! I loved riding RnRC with her...I was singing the whole time!

Joining in! It sound and looks like you guys had such a great trip! So many fabulous pictures of smiling faces and, of course, thumbs up too!

Can't wait for more!

Not looking good for you new Jets fan tonight, 4 to 1 Habs as I type.

Queen, how much was the 50/50? Did Geodoc win? Can we come too? I promise that I won't gloat. :lmao:

Hollywood Studios! Woot woot! Definitely looks to me like a good park for a birthday, especially with all the rides she enjoys :thumbsup2

Oooooo... Star Tours! Probably one of the only rides at DHS I have yet to do. I never got to ride the original and have yet to ride the new one. It sounds really cool. Big :thumbsup2 to you for braving through it for MM (:

I need to make note of Writer's Stop. I've heard about some of their desserts being very good, but I never knew they had books for you to read! Oh, that's my place, completely. Hopefully I'll be able to find it though :/

That's great to hear MM liked RnRC. She's much braver than me. I haven't even come within 10 feet of the entrance to the queue (huge ride wimp right here) Another reason why I really need to get myself on it. Next trip (:

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Yep tough loss for the Jets....but just being in the building for this game was worth it!!!. The 50:50 was $74,000 !!!!!!!!!.........sorry Queen and Darcy, they didn't pick my number......maybe next game!!

Great HS pictures! it's my least favortie park but I do love taking pictures there!

Great update. I can't wait to ride Star Tours in December. I'm not going to ask if you liked it since your eyes were closed the whole time. :rotfl: Did everyone else like/love it?

I love the writer's stop. So cool in there.

Yeah :cool1: for MM's fearless ride on RnR!

Your pictures are lovely.

We haven't because we never have a car...but I think next trip we'll have to do it just once!

Hmmmmmmm...... I wonder if I know anyone that lives in the area that might be willing to drive you over to the mall. I'll have to put on my thinking cap before y'all come back and see if I can come up with any options.

PS -- tell Geodoc I smiled and thought of him last Friday when I was driving into Celebration for a festival thing we were going to. I recognized the entrance and even remembered where we parked for our first geocaching adventure.

:faint:

Wow, that is a big 50/50.

I bet it was amazing being there. It was something to watch on TV and it was great that everyone was cheering at the end of the game.

Love your trip report! Thanks for the pics of Orlando International, they make me super excited for some reason!! :)

I'm so excited to try SW new ride, but at the same time I am very nervous, I can handle any thrill ride, but some like this one makes me a little motion sick...hope I can handle it!!

:wave:Welcome!! Now as the weather is changing here, I wish we were going again soon!! Sometimes I think I'm never happy:lmao: I always want to be there!

No...but I can honestly say, I'm just so darn happy to have our team back that I didn't care! Wouldn't that have been great for us all to go again!!! $74000 I almost fell off my chair when he sent me a text with the amount!
Just saying hi!
Hello my friend:hug:

Hollywood Studios! Woot woot! Definitely looks to me like a good park for a birthday, especially with all the rides she enjoys :thumbsup2

I agree, great park for a birthday celebration! I'm still not sure if I was being brave or just stupid:lmao:

Jasmine loves reading and would rather do that than watch tv or be on the computer so that's why she decided to come with us when she knew where we were going! Hon, if I can find it, you'll have no problem!

You definitely need to try it...even if it's only once:thumbsup2

More coming up momentarily!!!popcorn::

Yep tough loss for the Jets....but just being in the building for this game was worth it!!!. The 50:50 was $74,000 !!!!!!!!!.........sorry Queen and Darcy, they didn't pick my number......maybe next game!!
Nerves got the better of them and having been at games in the 90's I know how crazy Wpg fans are and it had to be a little intimidating!! OUR BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN :woohoo:

Next game.....ok, we'll hold off until then! I just need enough time to get a plan together...maybe I should get one together in case you win:rolleyes1

Great HS pictures! it's my least favortie park but I do love taking pictures there!

Thanks:goodvibes It's my least favorite now too! I could spend half a day there and be happy....oh, but I would have to go back in the evening for Fantasmic, I do love that show!

Thanks Mary Ellen:goodvibes Jeff, Geodoc, SW, and Peg loved it!! Jeff and Geodoc would have ridden it over and over and over if we didn't have other things to do!:lmao: She is awesome and has no fear....her laid back attitude is such a great quality!

Awww thank you....that means so much to me!!

Hmmmmmmm...... I wonder if I know anyone that lives in the area that might be willing to drive you over to the mall. I'll have to put on my thinking cap before y'all come back and see if I can come up with any options.

Would that be the same person who may or may not make me hush puppies after we went shopping:rolleyes1
PS -- tell Geodoc I smiled and thought of him last Friday when I was driving into Celebration for a festival thing we were going to. I recognized the entrance and even remembered where we parked for our first geocaching adventure.

I sure will let him know!

Thanks you so much:goodvibes I feel the same way...it's those little things when you look back that I love!!! MCO is like coming home!

I'm so excited to try SW new ride, but at the same time I am very nervous, I can handle any thrill ride, but some like this one makes me a little motion sick...hope I can handle it!!

I got myself so worked up before we even got on that I think that was the majority of my problem. I'm sure you'll be fine:thumbsup2 Can't wait to hear what you think...you'll be there in no time!

.

PS -- tell Geodoc I smiled and thought of him last Friday when I was driving into Celebration for a festival thing we were going to. I recognized the entrance and even remembered where we parked for our first geocaching adventure.

That was fun that day showing you how to geocache! If I recall our first stop was by the lake and you apologized for not covering my back..."cause you have to assume there is a gator in every pond!!!!" and sure enough there was!! We need to geocache in Celebration again!!

I promised another update before our long weekend was over so here it is! I made a huge pot of turkey rice soup and the spaghetti sauce is simmering just waiting for Jeff and Jasmine to get home from work! I didn't see them but for a few minutes yesterday .... they were out celebrating their one year anniversary .... I'm not sure where that year went:confused3 He bought her the most beautiful amethyst earrings and she got him a Guess watch that he has had his eye on! They ended their special day with dinner at Tony Roma's...sounds like a pretty great day to me!!

On with the update....after we all rode RnRC and everyone but Peg and I rode again we made out way over to ToT for a couple of rides there too! I of course tormented poor SW in the library, like I always do, and she didn't want to sit with me on the ride, like always!:lmao: Poor thing...it really is sport for me!

Before we knew it, it was time for our ADR at Sci Fi! I was excited to see how the girls reacted to it and we all hadn't been there together since 1998 when Jasmine was six and neither of my nieces were even thought of so it was exciting! We only waited about 5 minutes until we were called and seated in our car!! The girls were both a little apprehensive about the "scary" trailers but they did great!
188-2.jpg

Doesn't everyone look so happy in this picture...the girls thought it was so cool in here and for Peg and I it sure brought back memories of our childhood....the drive in was a big outing for us! Putting on our pajamas and my mom would make popcorn and snacks to take with us....great great memories! As you can see, SW wouldn't even sit with me in the car:lmao:
189-3.jpg

A shot from where I was sitting..
191-2.jpg

I was a little concerned about what everyone would order here not remembering the menu that clearly! I decided on the BLT soup and I can't say enough great things about it! I'm sure I could feel my arteries constricting as I was wolfing it down.,..there was so much creamy goodness and bacon...what's not to love!!! Peg and SW had it too and they shared an order of onion rings!
192-2.jpg

The one thing I have always remembered about this TS restaurant was it's great onion rings...so I had to have some too, but I did share!
193-2.jpg

Geodoc, Jas, and Jeff all had the burger and fries and I believe there was a couple of milkshakes on the table too!! We really had a great lunch here but were a little bummed...you see Peg's friends from Winnipeg that we had dinner with the night before we left, their daughter is actually the manager at Sci Fi and ABC Commissary but unfortunately she was on the evening shift so we didn't get to see her! That would have to wait until a little later in the trip!
194-3.jpg

By the time we were through with our lunch everyone was ready to head back to the Lodge for a swim! Our view from our chairs on this particular afternoon, we were much closer to the bar!
195-2.jpg

The kids before they jumped into the pool...they really did love coming down here everyday! I knew Jasmine was all about spending her afternoons by thepool but I was concerned that Jeff would think it was a waste of time when we could be at the park....but have no fear....he started asking when we were going back for a swim!!
196-2.jpg

More fun times in the pool
197-3.jpg

It was so nice a relaxing, watching everyone have fun while I leisurely sipped on my pina colada:lovestruc
198-1.jpg

Our view when we got back up to our room....
199-2.jpg

Then there were more....MM was so cute, she said to her mom "I think Nana sent the zebras to us today" made me a little weepy when Peg told me! Nana was with us a lot on this trip! Our plans for this evening were the MK so we could attend the Wishes Dessert Party! Peg and family have done it before, but it was a first for Jas, Jeff and I and we were pretty excited! The park was a little on the busy side so we were all thankful that we would have a prime viewing spot!
200-2.jpg

We had a little time to spare before the party started so we did what we do best...shopped!! I told MM to try on this beautiful tiara so I could get a picture of it...I don't think the store manager was very happy with me at that particular moment, but I didn't care! Every little girl should get to try a tiara on once in her lifetime!
201-2.jpg

We finally made our way to line up and get our wristbands and before we knew it they were letting us into the seating area! I couldn't believe how crazy people were in here thus the lack of pictures! I don't know if people were afraid they were going to run out of desserts (and no they sure didn't) or what but I could hardly get in to get food, never mind pictures! People were yelling at each other and yelling at their kids...overall I did not enjoy this at all and wouldn't pay to go again!
This is Jasmine's plate, chocolate, chocolate covered strawberries...that's my girl!
202-3.jpg

My plate...not much different than Jasmine's except for the creme brulee which I must say was delicious!
203-2.jpg

Jeff's.....mostly fruit...he cracks me up!!
204-3.jpg

We all absolutely loved the new show on the castle...it brought tears to my eyes! Jeff couldn't believe how awesome it was...he ooooo'd and awwww'd all through it! He truly loved it! I love this picture of them!
205-2.jpg

And of course one of the castle! I put my camera away for Wishes, it is something I very rarely take pictures of because I really just want to take it all in! We had a wonderful evening but as I said, I probably wouldn't do the party again! I actually missed standing on Main Street with the throngs of people...weird I know:rotfl2:

First off, congrats to Jasmine and Jeff. They are such a cute couple! :)

I loved your childhood flashback. When I was a child we used to have a drive-in 5 minutes from our house and we'd go all the time. We'd wear our pj's and our mom would make popcorn too. :goodvibes

I am so sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the dessert party. We've been twice and loved it both times. It sounds like you ended up with a rude group that night.
