Your Safari pics are amazing! Loved hearing about jeff's reaction to the safari. Also cute story about how he kept saying "Jambo Everyone" to everyone. The little things really do make the best trip stories.

jeff's reaction to dinosaur was hillarious as well! I would react the same way but then again i'm not a teenage boy so this doesn't mean much.

The pool pictures look great! Oh how i miss the warm weather! I'm super excited because I will be in Disney in 6 DAYS!!!! Halleluah to non-chicago/ midwest weather

It's okay to go slowly with the trip report, you have until 2013, right??? (But I do hope you run into some money to make it in 2012 (maybe in the summer at the same time as us...)

When Emma was 6 on our first trip, she wasn't worried about Dinosaur. I told her it was loud and scary...no worries from her. Then, in the preshow, the guy said, hopefully we can bring you back... And Emma got really nervous. "Mommy, are we going back in time?" I assured her that not for real. (But then I probably joked with her... bad mom.)

We haven't eaten at RFC yet. Maybe this trip since we won't be on the dining plan. (I can't spend $100 a day for two ten-year olds who eat more snacks than food...)

Jasmine is getting ready to go to work and I thought if I don't sit down right now and get another post done it probably won't happen!

Last fall I was at the Walmart at Unicity looking for something. Couldn't find it so checked a couple of other places. Popped into Winners and remembered, "Hey, maybe this is the one." Didn't spot her. But I would've said hi.

My goal today is to get the tree down and all the decorations put away...I don't particularly love this part of the holidays....I love having my tree up as I'm sure you all realized when I put it up near the beginning/middle of November

I put mine up at the beginning of December... but I can't make myself take it down quite yet. Probably mid to late January, I'm guessing.

he was jumping around in the line waiting to board! It was like having two 6 year olds on the trip....except MM was a bit more mature....he'll kill me for that one!

Ummm... did you see that boy's muscles in the last picture? Queen, I'm afraid you might want to pick on somebody a little less six-packish.

we all know how warm AK can be in August!

I found this guy a bit un-nerving being so close! We all kept telling Jeff he was our good luck charm because we had never had a safari like this before...he replied with "Your welcome I do my best" BOYS!!!

And modest, too!

From FOTLK, we headed to Dinosaur! Jeff kept asking what kind of a ride it was so I did what every good person would do with someone new to DIsney....I lied to him I told him it was a quite ride kinda like a documentary of dinosaurs...he was very excited......

I would've been bitterly disapointed in you if you had done otherwise.

....this picture makes me howl everytime I look at it! Jasmine's big brave man....NOT!!! We created quite a stir in the gift shop laughing at Jeff's reaction!

Okay, nevermind the muscles comment. You could take him!

I will upload some more pictures and hopefully get another update done...I really need to get moving on this TR!!!!

What an amazing safari trip! And to have a first timer experience it that way is a great treat.

I agree with you, FOTLK is the best! I always find myself wishing it lasted longer, because I just get so caught up in the songs and performances.

Oh man, I laughed out loud at the Dinosaur picture. So many different reactions, and you know Jeff is thinking, "This is NOT a documentary!!!!"

Uh, seeing the AKL pool while I'm shivering with the heater on just makes me miss summer and warmer weather.

Hello Queen! Sorry I haven't been commenting lately. Ever since the end of October and Halloween, I think everything caught up with me and I haven't had the chance to be on the DIS as much as I used to. But... I did catch up and I thoroughly enjoyed all the updates
I completely understand and am very happy you're back!

Oh my gosh, the whole birds thing with Jeff, I'm anxious to see that picture. Ever since someone mentioned Sheldon from Big Bang Theory and his Ornithophobia (I think that's how it spelled/It's fear of birds btw), I'm dying here with the thoughts of possible images And I'm so glad to know my friends and I are not the only people doing the crazy heel-clicking thing all over creation lol

I took my tree and decorations down on the 27th as it's been pretty quiet around here since DD left on boxing day to visit with DS who is living in Copenhagen. That only leaves one son at home and the other is married.
DH had to work new years eve so I thought it would just be nice to have the tree down and decorations put away!!

I'm looking forward to seeing photos of your new furniture!!

Looks like a fun day at AK and the Pool!!! Did you see that RFC is now included in the DDP!?! I haven't eaten there since last year and it was good but overpriced IMO compared to other dining locations!

It looks like everyone was having such a great time at Ak, and what awesome luck to have seen the animals so close.

I love the picture of Jasmine and Jeff before your safari left, it really shows just how much fun they were having, and how funny about Jeff adapting Jambo as his own personal saying.

The RFC is one of our favorites, and your meal looks delicious. It's always also a nice break from the heat at AK.

It was a great end to our day there! Those two are beyond funny....I told Jeff last night how I posted his Dinosaur picture and he gave me the look....I then told him he's very popular on the boards and that made him happy that he was keeping everyone entertained!

I think I have been guilty of mostly lurking on your report. Just wanted to come out of lurkdom to say happy new year and thank you for sharing your trip with us. I'm having a great time following along. I'm getting a kick out of all of it but mostly Jeff's reactions to things.
I am so happy you posted! I am so happy you're enjoying it! We still laugh at Jeff My two nieces were reminiscing last night about all the crazy things he did on our trip and they can't wait for 2013 to do it all over again!
How could you tell him Dinosaur was like a documentary?? The first time I rode I was not yet a DISer and hadn't done any homework. I figured the ride was something like the Universe of Energy in Epcot. If my ride photo could ever be recovered I am sure it would be hysterical!
Anyone who knows me well will tell you I have a very sick sense of humour Did it without cracking a smile!! I would have loved to see your pic!

YAY THE SAFARI! I really wish you took a video of some of these moments, Queen. I would've loved to have seen Jeff jumping along while you were waiting in line- the youngest of the group at heart lol But glad to see he really enjoyed it and that's awesome how he adopted the phrase the ride begins with. Total DISer It still shocks me though how people always yell about how some animals get so close on the safari or missing out on some animals and it seems both times I've been on the safari, they are just drawn to the trucks. Seriously, an Ostrich was within arm reach of me, it was insane! I wonder if its just us guys who are good luck charms. That's right I said it!

FotLK, another show I must see and the way you talk about it Queen, the better it sounds. Top of my list next trip, top of the list (if I had one lol)! And that is such a great picture of you guys on DINOSAUR! I must say out of all of you, Jeff seems the most terrified. You look like "WOW, THAT IS ONE HECKUVA DINOSAUR!" then Jasmine is like "Not looking, it will be over" and then Jeff is "OMG, I'M GOING TO DIE! I'M GOING TO DIE! JASMINE SAVE ME!" We are all about our pool afternoons....unless it's raining we're usually at the pool in the afternoon! We love love love it!

wow, the animals did get really close to you on the safari! One time when I was on it a rhino almost backed up into the side of our vehicle, it was pretty scary. haha that pic of Jeff on Dinosaur is great, thats how I usually look! How was your meal at RFC? When I went to the DTD location, the food was just so-so.

Such a fun time! I have to say the meal was just ok there....I probably wouldn't rush back again unless we were staying for the day at AK and we needed an hour or so out of the heat....but didn't love it!

Joining in late. I am loving your report (thanks for the links). The pool at Jambo looks wonderful, we need to get a trip in there soon. We are actually staying at SSR, which you like better? I would love to hear why.

I actually prefer SSR believe it or not! I love how bright and cheerful the rooms are, we were in The Grandstand so the pool was around one corner and the bus stop the other! I loved how we were first pick up and first drop off at our location! I found it quiet and the balcony's were peaceful! I found a lot of guests that weren't guests of AKL would use the pool everyday so could become very crowded.

Thank you for your kind words....December was tough to get thru that's for sure but we tried to stay upbeat for the girls and I think we did pretty good! Thank you again

Thanks Debby! Yes 2013...but Jasmine and I have tickets to the Jet's game on January 21 and the 50/50 draws have been averaging about $45000 so if we win not only will we be there when you are, we'll be buying DVC when we're there....wishful thinking but hey, ya gotta dream

That is a Lug Bag, I also have the puddle jumper which proved to be a great carry on....saw them on Oprah's Favorite Things and just had to check them out!

Can you believe the other day there we hit a high of +7....we've lived in Manitoba since 1969 and never remember temps like that! We haven't have -40 yet this year....hope I didn't just jinx it!
