I'm positive I've seen this discussed here, but I can't find it after searching for 10 minutes so I'm asking again (apologies - need to have a second cup of Joe).

Can someone tell me, or point me to, info about various room configurations at Jambo vs. Kidani?

We stayed in a SV 1BR at Kidani this year (myself, DH, DS11 and my parents). It was a split stay and so we were using a lot of points for the other half of the trip and just had enough left to try out Kidani for a few days. We put the points toward view rather than room size.

So everyone loved the resort and we want to go back, probably for the whole stay next time. I'm looking at those point charts and weighing options.

What I'm wondering is whether it would be better to sacrifice view to have the 2 bedroom, or if there are Value 2 bedrooms at Jambo (and are any Savannah view). Do all 1 bedrooms have the second bathroom, or only those at Kidani?

We didn't find the 1BR uncomfortable for 5, but only because we had the second bath.

Jambo 1BR's only have 1 bathroom, and Jambo 2BR only have 2 bathrooms
The value rooms in Jambo are smaller (living area and bedrooms are 3' shorter) and may have parking lot, pool or savanah view. Value rooms do not have a sleeper chair.

Kidani 1 and 2 BRs have 1 more full bath than Jambo.

2 bdrm Kidani's have 3 full baths!
I would def give up the view for the second bedroom if we were a family of 5.
When we had savannah view, it was certainly nice, but it seemed that so often when I had time to sit on my balcony, it was feeding time for the animals (they are taken inside for feeding, so the savannah empties out). And seeing the animals is just a walk down the hall to the public viewing area. Having a 2 bedroom, however, gives you a full trip's worth of benefit....

I'm with you, Lauren. But my parents looooooved the savannah view this last trip and they did spend a lot of their time sitting out there. Like, a LOT. There were several times when they did that while the three of us went to the pool, or when we went back into the park for a couple hours in the evening, etc.

So I'm sort of torn. :confused3

There's public areas they can sit at in order to view the animals as well. :)

I would pick the extra bathroom! Imagine the extra time savings not having to wait for one bathroom...

I think I am in the minority. For me personally, view trumps size. I love having the great view from my own private space. I'm willing to be a little squished if need be. It is really a personal choice that comes down to your gut feeling about the compromise.

I have a split stay booked. Partially due to availability and partially for points savings, we will have part savannah, part standard.

I love spending time on the balcony. I think by spending enough time I somewhat changed from animal spotting to behavior observation. While the hallway areas are fine for spotting, I think outside would be best for observation. It may or may not be so bad if you are close to the lobby.

I also have a question about this. We have stayed in Jambo studios. We have a dedicated 2 bedroom in Kidani for February. I know the master bedroom has a king; in the second bedroom the picture shows 2 queen beds instead of 1 queen and the sofa sleeper. Is that correct? I am hoping it is because we really don't want the sofa sleeper in the 2nd bedroom.

Thanks!

All dedicated 2BRs at Kidani have two queens in second bedroom.
