I've been checking with interest about the poll on the different restaurants at the resorts, seems that Jake's get high marks. I'll be staying at RPR this June, but after looking at the menu at Jake's, it looks a little ....oh I don't know, hum drum (for lack of a better word), just mostly burgers, sandwiches and ribs I'm not much of a burger or sandwich person (but I do like ribs on occasion), but I was wondering why so many fans of this place? Is the food that good? What foods do you like here? I would like to eat here because it would be so convient for us. Food is a big issue for us on vacation, we are planning on eating at Tchoup Chop, Mama Della's, Mythos, Bubba Gumps (this is for my son, he loves the movie!). I'd be very willing to try Jakes, but please tell me what you like about this place. Thanks!

Jakes is your standard American food restaurant. Food is good but nothing you won't find anywhere else. I'd go to Margaritaville instead for a bit of a different experience.

I like it because of the location especially after a day at the parks and the Citywalk restraunts have big wait times. The food is good and its normally not real busy. Yes, its there is better choices in Citywalk but its nice to relax right down stairs from your room.:cool1:

Reason 1: If you're staying at the RPR, it's convenient.
Reason 2: The Jake's Wings are very good if you like chicken wings.
Reason 3: Entertainment on select nights throughout the week.
Reason 4: Laid back atmosphere.
Reason 5: Nice selection on alcoholic drinks.
Reason 6: Usually not packed, so no problem getting seated at arrival.

Negatives: Doesn't open until 4PM!

We used to eat here on arrival day for lunch, when staying at RPR. Unfortunately, when they changed their open time to 4PM, we stopped doing that. If you're not staying at RPR, I'm not sure that its worth the walk. However, if you are at RPR during dinner time, its definitely a viable dinner option.

We always eat at Jakes when at the RPR , food is good and we would usually eat there when there is some entertainment on, for a relaxing night.
If there is nothing on the menu you would want, i can personally recommend Islands, service and food is excellent

I haven't eaten here but hope to try it on my upcoming trip. It's just so hard when the RPR has so many good eats. Between Tchoup Chop, the sushi at Orchid Court Lounge, and Bula Bar & Grille, I have so many good choices.

Yes, I agree there are a lot of good choices at RPR. Maybe we will get to eat at Jakes while there, if so I'll tell you what we thought of the place. As usual, Thanks for the replies! :thumbsup2

Oh I forgot to ask something else! Since this is a bar that serves food, do they allow kids in to eat? And I didn't know about entertainment, what is it? i'm guessing bands? :confused3
