Jaime's Flower Power Trip! NEW 7/05 CH. 62: The "Really" End **COMPLETED**

i love this picture! Jack really looks like he is surveying his precious jelly treasure

Philadisney -
I think Jack originally thought the jelly jars were casks of rum... :lmao:

OMG Jaime, you are soooo funny!:lmao: Although, when you said the show is at 7:15, just following a SW reference, I thought you were talking about the Shamu show:rolleyes: :rotfl2:

Missy in MN

Missy - :wave2:
MENTAL NOTE - No more Shamu references in the same posts as bathing suit pictures!

Although you haven't lived until you've seen my "beached whale" impression! :rotfl2:

But where's the RUM?

Sounds like you really had a nice b-fast.

Room service is DDs favorite part of staying in a hotel. Her first experience was at the Hyatt/MCO - now where ever we go she wants room service!!!!

Martha -
It's been a very long time since I've had room service - anywhere! It was truly great at AKL! :thumbsup2

Jaime quote:
Nope. They were back within 2 hours. Uh oh. I don’t do Vicodin as well as some other trip reporters… I stumble around… and I speak "Gibberish". The words make perfect sense to me… but not to anyone else.

hey, I think I just might know who you're referring to. Admit it, it least the foot felt better. Remember my motto: No pain, no pain. And who cares about the gibberish? If you had given one to everybody, they would have understood you just fine. some other trip reporter

Steve -
Do you share your vics??? :sad2:

I am still enjoying your report. And I thought the same thing about the 7:15 show after your "SeaWorld" Picture!! :rotfl:

Thanks for sharing!

Michelle - :wave2:
Glad you're still hanging in here! We're hitting the home stretch - only 2 more days of vacation - should take about 2 weeks to tell the tale! :cool2:

Hi, Jaime. That breakfast looks wonderful. I never seem to take time for room service, but if I ever stay at AKL I definitely will! :thumbsup2

Pittypat -
We didn't so much make the time as to order early... huh, I guess we did make the time...

never mind...

:rolleyes1

 You could always spread a blanket out on the floor and have a picnic!

Kathy

Kathy - :wave2:
I read your idea - thought "what a fun idea" - then heard Ruth's voice in my head "Can we move the blanket..." :scared:

I'm still here Jaime!

Meg, I Love your sig and your avatar!
~Welcome to our world~

Jack looks he found gold in that Jelly :lmao:
can't wait to see what he gets in to next pirate:

CHAPTER 47: Keys to the Kingdom, Part I– Still DAY 7: FRIDAY, MAY 4, 2007

We need to catch the bus to the Magic Kingdom – today we take the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. I’m very excited, but a little leery, too. I took the Backstage Magic Tour a couple of years ago and it KILLED my feet! I popped 2 Midol (hey, it’s got Acedominiphen in it, and I hoped the diuretic in it might keep the swelling down on my foot!) and 2 ibuprofen before we left.

No problems with the busses this morning, yea!

:lmao: High-Jacking the bus!!!! :thumbsup2

We are scheduled for the 9:30 tour. We’re a little early, so – of course – we hit the bathroom.

Check-in is next to Guest Services – to the left. We gave our names, got our name badges, and were told to help ourselves to coffee or water while we waited. We were also shown a menu for the Columbia Harbour House and placed our orders for lunch.

We now had name badge pins, Guest Tour lanyards, and ear pieces to hear the tour guide. Add to that backpacks, camera bags, water bottle holders, and sunglasses – well, we look a little bit like puggymom with tons of crap around our necks! :rotfl2:

9:30 comes in no time and our guide comes out. Her name is Rae and she was fabulous! She called herself a Disney Girl, and her love and enthusiasm for the job and the parks just shined (shone?) through every word of the tour.

There were 17 of us on the tour today.

The saying is that a picture is worth a thousand words, but no pictures are allowed on the tours (the backstage part, anyway, and I just never pulled the camera out the whole time!), so I suppose this chapter will have to be at least 1,000 words…

Bwaa-haa-haa!!!!!!!!!! :lmao:

(Is that 1 word or 3?)

So, outside of Town Hall, Rae introduces herself, makes sure everyone can hear through the microphone, and tells us a little bit about the tour we are about to take. She is wearing the traditional tour guide costume – plaid skort (thought those were skirts, did ya???), vest, riding hat and crop. The crop is great because Rae is tiny and she would hold the crop up in the air – it had a Mickey head on it (NOT lime green) – and would wiggle it as she walked, so we’d know where she was in the crowd.

We have to take a pledge NOT to take pictures backstage, and another pledge that we know it’s a walking tour and will not whine about our feet. Lady, I’ve been wearing an Ace bandage for a week – there WILL be whining!

Actually, I did not whine. I may have moaned a little later in the tour, but I did not whine. I took a pledge.

She also tells us about the 4 Keys to working at Disney – Safety, Courtesy, Show, and Efficiency. We are to find examples of these on our way to our next stop.

She leads us across Main Street to the little alcove on the right side of the street – have you ever paid any attention to this area? We’ve been down there before – it’s a dead end, but it’s Walt’s theming of Main Street, USA, at it’s finest. There’s a window upstairs that reads something like "Piano and Dance Lessons". Depending on the time of day, you can hear piano or tap lessons going on up there. Singing lessons, too, maybe… hazy… you check it out and let me know!

There’s a bunch of tables and chairs sitting there and we all sat down while Rae spoke. She asked a lot of trivia questions and was giving out stickers as prizes. Well – have I ever mentioned how competitive I am? And we had to list the examples of the 4 Keys we found walking down Main Street.

Any guesses? :teacher:

"And that's why she's called..... CLIFFHANGER!"
Okay, so you may not watch Between the Lions, but that song was playing loudly in my K teacher brain when I finally finished reading your TR up to this point.

I have been busy finishing school up and MOVING :)

I was worried about those piggies all along and now I am hearing my worrying was not in vain.

Whew.. glad I got caught up... now on with the show :)

xo

Yay! I want to do this tour SO BAD! I love when people report on it. I hope I get to do it on my next trip. Can't wait to read more about it. (:

Jaime, I am loving this report. I think you and my mom (MeMom) would do well together on a trip. You both love Disney, are about the same age and you both have a bum foot. You would need a chaperone though. Someone about half your age and maybe a small baby size tag along.;)

Glad to hear things are going well! For a while, Meg and I considered moving from a 3 bedroom to a 2 bedroom apt now that Steph has moved out... just the thought of it sent us both off to take naps! :rotfl2:
