Jaclyn & Chris’ Engagement Trip Report ~ Updated 01/03

Your TR is great! :goodvibes Congratulations on the engagement! You two are adorable! I totally agree that the low crowds during Sept are wonderful! I loved being able to practically walk on everything!

Looking forward to more!

I wanted to wish Chris a Happy 27th Birthday!

Picture146.jpg

In honor of his birthday I thought it would be the perfect time to post an installment almost entirely of Star Wars activities. :darth: Chris is a huge star wars fan and prior to my relationship with him I knew absolutely nothing about Star Wars and actually hated the movies. When the first star wars movie (or 4th to you Star Wars fans) was re-released in theatres I actually fell asleep, blasphemous I know. Over the past 6 years I have tried to learn more about Star Wars and I have actually gained an appreciation of the movies. You may even catch me making a Star Wars joke every once in awhile. Only Chris’ friends get the jokes. I actually made a Star Wars joke when I was out with my friends last week and they just looked at me weird.:lmao:

STARS WARS MANIA!!!

After our second ride on Toy Story Mania, our next stop was STAR TOURS! It only had a 10 minute wait. I usually don’t ride Star Tours because I get motion sickness on simulator rides. But I figured since the ride was going down for refurb soon I should ride it one last time before it changed.

Turns out riding Star Tours one last time was a bad idea. I felt so sick afterwards. At least I knew it wouldn’t last long because we had lunch reservations at Mama Melrose. I find with my motion sickness as soon as I eat my stomach starts to settle.

After our ride we spent a great deal of time at Tatooine Traders (Previous know as Endor Vendors)

Chris in his happy place…:cloud9:

I think Yoda is so cute! I just want to pick him up and swish him. :yoda: ;)

After browsing though Tatooine Traders it was time for lunch at Mama Melrose. This was both Chris and I’s first time dining at Mama Melrose. We’ve both to WDW so many times that we looking forward to trying something new.

This bread was so nice and warm. You could tell it just came out of the oven.

I ordered the Grilled Pepperoni Flatbread ~ with Sun-dried Tomato Pesto, Pancetta and Asiago Cheese and fresh chives and a coke.

Chris ordered the Grilled Chicken Flatbread ~ with Bell Peppers and sweet Onions and a Sprite.

Chris and I were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed our meals here. We’ll definitely be back again.

After we finished lunch it was time for…Jedi Training Academy. We weren’t planning on watching this it just happened to be starting when we walked by. I’d had seen the show once before while I was waiting for Chris to ride Star Tour and I thought it was really funny. I knew Chris would enjoy it so we stayed to watch it.

WARNING: I took lots of pictures of the Jedi Training Academy.

Before we left DHS we wanted to ride the Great Movie Ride as it had been a few years since we’d last be on it.

We past the Hall of Fame on our way.

How’s it going, Walt?

We were lucky enough to score front row seats on the tram. I was seated right next to the tour guide. He was so funny and kept making sarcastic jokes to me when the microphone was turned off. I was giggling through the whole ride.

And of course more….Star Wars. :lmao:

Up Next: DHS, CSR and a SURPRISE!

Happy Birthday, Chris!

My DH is also a big Star Wars fan...I've never gotten into it though much to his dismay. And I didn't know Star Tours was going down for refurb.

You guys are such a cute couple! I am enjoying your TR!

I just caught up on your TR!! :goodvibes Congratulations on your engagement!! I got engaged at the Poly too (am no longer with the guy) and it is such a nice, secluded, beautiful spot to get engaged :lovestruc.

You are so pretty and you guys make such a cute couple! Can't wait to read more!! :yay:

Chris says thank you. :goodvibes

Yeah, it’s closing down in 2010. Here’s a link to an article about the refurb.

Thank you. :) I’m glad you’re enjoying it.

You guys should take a trip to WDW sometime during SWW, Chris would love it. :thumbsup2

We actually went during SWW in May 2005 by accident. :rolleyes1 His parents booked the trip for the middle of May and we didn’t realize until a few days before we went down that it was Star Wars Weekend. We weren’t as informed about all Disney as we are now so we didn’t get to participate in a lot of the SWW festivities. We definitely want to go down one year and spend more time enjoying all the SWW events. :)

The poly was the perfect place for Chris to propose. I’m an emotional person and if he proposed somewhere public I would have been so embarrassed. :rolleyes1 It was nice that we were the only two people on the private beach. :cloud9:

Thank you, you’re so sweet.

Your lunch at Mama Melrose looked really good!

I hope Star Tours is still running next week. I've never ridden it, and would like to do it before the refurb.

Happy Birthday Chris, hope you had a great day :)

Great update, Chris looks like the cat that got the cream in Tattooine Traders :)

This is one of the best trip reports I have ever read! Thank You!
I am so happy for you both, you a very cute couple. Can't wait to read more of your TR!
Have a great night!
Molly :goodvibes
