Before we get on with it, Randy blogged us!! http://chapmanphotography.typepad.c...eeze-point-and-attic-for-there-reception.html
He edited a LOT of pictures, and I am happy. At some point, I will go revise his review to reflect that. (Although, I hope he didn't edit my pictures because of anything I said on the boards; that would make me feel terribly awkward.)
Honeymoon, Day 4: Part 1
Our plan for today had been to arrive at DHS for rope drop so we could get right on to TSMM, but that just didn't happen. For whatever reason, I never have a problem getting to rope drop for the MK or Epcot, but I guess I just don't get as excited to go to DHS. We had also been in Walt Disney World for a full week at this point, and I think the Disney Exhaustion feeling had started to sink in. I also remember starting to feel sad around this time, and I think it was because we usually leave after a week. I think my body thought we had to go home!
We arrived at DHS probably only fifteen minutes after rope drop, so really not all that bad. We fastpassed TSMM, although the line said it was only about a half hour. I am pretty sure the line was lying though.
We had 20ish minute waits for both Rockin' Roller Coaster and TOT. We had the cutest interaction with a little girl on TOT. She was talking with someone who had run the half marathon, and her mom asked her if she knew who it was on the medal. She said in her oh-so-cute-little-girl-voice "Pluto?!?!" (It was obviously Donald.) We all laughed. A few minutes later, she asked the little girl if she knew who was on Chris's t-shirt (he was wearing his Perry the Platypus shirt). She said "How about... PLUTO?!?!" Needless to say, Chris and I said "How about... Pluto?!" to each other allllll week.
After TOT, we headed over to Star Tours. I think we had the ewok scene? Regardless, I have been on that ride four times since the changeover and have only had two scenes. I must have bad luck. From there, we headed over to the Muppets, where I was happy to see there was an actual line! I think the success of the new movie really helped with this attraction's popularity, but I do hope they never change it. It has SO many good quotables: "Did someone say CHEAP 3-D TRIIICKS?!?!" and "You've got a minute and a half." "GHEEYYY?!?!?!" Sorry. I love quoting Disney attractions.
I love Miss Piggy! I tell Chris we're like Piggy and Kermit. He's quiet and unassuming; I'm chubby and I know what I want!
After the Muppets we were pretty hungry, and so we decided to see if we could get into SciFi. I know a lot of people dislike SciFi, but we've always liked it and we usually do it once a trip. They got us in without a problem, and we were hitchhikers in the basket to an older couple and their adult daughter. We talked with them a bit, and found out they were from Wisconsin too! The daughter was a Milwaukee Public Schools staff member, which is the district I'll be working for next year. Small world, right?!
Chris ordered a double cheeseburger that cost $17 and I am fairly certain is the priciest burger on property; I ordered a Reuben sandwich. Both were really good and much better than the quick service options offered in DHS. Unfortunately, I am a bad Disbride and forgot to take pics of our food! We had excellent Oreo milkshakes too.
I also forgot to take pictures of the Cat Who Hated People! That's my favorite cartoon at SciFi, in case you were curious.
After lunch, we headed over to meet Phineas and Ferb!!! I was SO excited, and Chris wore his Perry shirt just for the occasion. The line was long, but manageable, and we had done almost everything else we had wanted to do in DHS anyway. So we were waiting and waiting, and the director of the show starts choosing people to participate. And then his said those fateful words:
"I'm looking for a guy in a Perry shirt who just got married!!!!"
And that's how Chris was chosen to be King of the Backyard Beach.
Now, my husband is not an outgoing fella. He's pretty shy and gets really nervous in front of people. However, he was an amazing King of the Backyard Beach! I took some pictures, but we had the PhotoPass pictures put onto our card, and those definitely tell the story more effectively.
Just look at his face!
I'm cracking up over here.
Kids, you dance like THIS!
At some point, he also gave me a Look:
I think this is his YAYYY I'm all done! pose.
