Jackie and Chris's Wishes Wedding 1/6/12: SBP/Attic/SCP 5/11 Final Post- PJ Finished

We don't have a time yet! Sometime after dinner. Chris and I have a 5:45 ressie at Via Napoli and I think he would divorce me if I told him we had to skip it. Also, I do LOVE the Peace on Earth tag!! It was amazing. I cried.

[/url]

Yay! Definitely count me in then! And I loved reading your blogginess (ok, not a word but you know what I mean!) And I'm keeping your grandfather in my thoughts!

Ok, a bit behind again! But I'm still reading and loving it all!

•First off, I won't yell…but you have to have some SUSHI! At least try veggie sushi first and you can branch out from there.
•I really wanna try a tour sometime!
•I'm laughing so hard at the picture of you gasping over the IASW hand, bahahahhaha.
•When we were taken backstage for our dessert party we went under that backstage loop of Test Track. All of our guests were like, "we are under some ride, it think?" and I was like, "OMG, it's the other side of Test Track!" I think that's so cool, since your mind doesn't even register that when you are on the ride itself.
•Love the Beverly pictures!
•I love The Land ride too! I always take picture of that nine-pound lemon! :)
•Aww, the wedding shrine in your room is super cute!
•I'm salivating, I want to try that grapefruit cake so badly!
•Your wedding scrapbook turned out so well--you are giving me ideas for my own.
•Wow, a $17 cheeseburger! That's so crazy. Speaking of pricey food, last night on the radio I heard that they were going to start to sell some crazy hot dog at the baseball games here in Boston and that they were going to $26 EACH. FOR A HOT DOG. OMG.
•I'M SO JEALOUS OF CHRIS--I wanna be in the Phineas and Ferb Backyard Beach show, hahaha!
•That's funny--I think I'm the only person that likes the HS hat. I guess I need a big icon slapped in the middle of each park!
•Mmmmm, I still have to try Le Cellier! I need to taste this beer cheese soup.
•Sending good thoughts to your grandfather!
•And yayyyyy, for the blog spotlights!!!

Yay, I'm all caught up in text now. :)

Danielle you are not alone I love the Hat as well. It is my 2nd favorite park icon!

Jackie,
Being blogged is a wonderful feeling I am so happy for you!

I hope your grandfather gets better! My thoughts and prayers are with you

Gorgeous photos on The Disney Wedding Blog -- I was so excited to see them. (I left a comment there, too, but I have no idea if it will show up, had a hard time submitting it, which usually isn't an issue.) I loved the cake - that has to be the best cake of the year, and I feel totally comfortable saying that even though it's only March. Congratulations on the post!!!

Jackie sweetie!!
Many congratulations on the blog!!!
I will keep your Grandad in my prayers and hop he gets well soon!!!
Much love sweetie

First of all your Grandpa are in my thoughts. I lost mine almost 6 years ago but he's still very close in my heart.

I have not yet been able to get into Le Cellier yet! I'm so wanting to try that soup.

Just so you also know I LOVE THE MUPPETS! In fact I have a Kermit shirt on as I type this LOL.

I love Epcot too. I love walking through the countries. Some day I hope to visit the "real" countries but for now I have Disney.

Your blog post was AWESOME! :thumbsup2 The cake was so unique :lovestruc

Thank you!!

Yes, I have plans to try sushi, I promise. And I totally agree about the Test Track thing. Did you see the track move a little too? It was a litttttle scary. And a $26 hot dog?!?! I assume this is at Fenway, right??? Geez louise. And hot dogs are GROSS! (I'm kind of craving one from Casey's right now though.)

As for the hat, I really liked it when the Earful Tower was the icon. I think they should just move the hat to Sunset Blvd by the entrance to Fantasmic. But no one asked me.

Danielle you are not alone I love the Hat as well. It is my 2nd favorite park icon!

Hey girls! Just a quickie update on my family. My grandfather was in critical care over the weekend, but he's been moved back to a normal room and is improving, but he still has the infection and is still quarantined. My grandmother, however, (mostly due to worry) also landed herself in the hospital. They're across the hall from each other, at least. It's times like these where I really hate living 1,000 miles away from everyone! So, please just continue to keep them in your thoughts--- I really appreciate it!

Honeymoon Day 5

...We are on Day 5, right?!

We woke up early and walked to the MK for rope drop. The walk was relatively quick and easy (especially as it wasn't at the end of the day), and we arrived at MK roughly a half hour before it opened.

DSCN0484.jpg

We saw the cutesy little opening show...

DSCN0485.jpg

DSCN0487.jpg

And I wish I could tell you that this show doesn't make me cry, but it most certainly does. Every time! It's so cheesy, but it just tugs at my heartstrings. It just makes me realize (and remember) just how magical WDW is and how lucky I am to share it with someone I love so much.

Even though we were at the park well before rope drop, we broke all Disney Veterans rules and headed to the Haunted Mansion first. (I needed some mansion in my life.) The HM maid asked us if it was our first time here, and we burst into giggles. :lmao: We ended up being the only people in the stretching room, which was absolutely amazing for me. I was able to talk along with the Ghost Host without ruining anyone else's fun! When we got off the ride, we asked if we were the first people on for the day... and we were the second. Darnit!

We then headed over to Pirates, where the people in our boat were model citizens and didn't take flash pictures. I was so proud of them. Then we took these pictures, modeling Jon Hamm's character on 30 Rock:

DSCN0488.jpg

DSCN0489.jpg

We also met up with a certain Duck.

31856900139.jpg

and, just playing along, I asked him where Daisey was, and decided she was most likely out shopping. The character handler butt in and started telling me where I could meet Daisy! I was just playing along, lady.

(On a side note, the dress I'm wearing looks much better with a belt, but I forgot the belt at home! Grr.)

Then we headed over to Fantasyland, and Peter Pan's Flight was only a 5 minute wait!!! This was my favorite ride when I was little, but I don't get to do it that much because the line is always so gosh darn long and crazy. We definitely lucked out. From there, we were off to Winnie the Pooh and we played in the Interactive Queue for the first time. I definitely liked the changes.

Naturally, I had to take a picture of the Beast's Castle under construction. I realllly hope Be Our Guest is open for New Year's.

DSCN0491.jpg

Now, it doesn't say we did Philharmagic in my notes, but I remember doing it and I found this picture:

DSCN0493.jpg

So we either saw Philharmagic or we just stole the 3D glasses so they could never be washed again. I'll let you be the judge.

Then we wondered around in the shops for awhile, and Chris bought Tale as Old as Time, the Beauty and the Beast art book. We gazed at all of the overpriced Disney art we would buy if we won the lottery, and I visited the Dooney purses some more.

By then, it was just about time for lunch, so we headed over to the GF. We were meeting up with my grandparents for lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe, a restaurant they thought I was making up. They tried to tell me many, many times that it was a counter service place. Oh grandparents.

Lunch with my grandparents was mostly uneventful. We talked about the wedding and how pretty of a day it had been, and they told us about how they ran into Chris's GM James the day after the wedding and had a nice, long chat with him in Epcot. We caught up with them and told them what we had been doing on our honeymoon so far. My grandmother and I both ordered the Grand Sandwich--- this meaty, open faced goodness that I forgot to take a picture of--- and I don't remember what Chris ordered. $10 says it was a burger though.

A-ha! I found a picture of my sandwich. Doesn't it look delicious? (Thanks, AllEars)

I also want to take this time to demonstrate my grandparents' wonderful camera abilities.

The picture of them Chris took:

The picture of us my grandfather took:

DSCN0497.jpg

Need I say more?

After lunch, we said goodbye to my grandparents and promised to call them when we were home. We headed up to the monorail to BLT so we could drop our purchases off at the room. We also had to stop at the concierge desk to get our Hoop de Doo tickets and get our 20% TiW discount for Hoop de Doo credited to our account; thankfully, neither was a problem to complete.

We got on a bus for Downtown Disney. Chris and I actually hadn't been there in a year and a half, so we were looking forward to going again. We only stayed in World of Disney for about a minute because that store gives me a major headache. It's always so loud and so busy!!! The people who work there must have nerves of steel.

I was excited to go to World of Disney because I wanted to play with the My Little Ponies... but they took out the My Little Pony stuff with all of the pretty outfits. Here is my "Where did all the ponies go?!?!" look

DSCN0499.jpg

I was really quite broken up about it!

I managed to heal the broken bits with some retail therapy in Trend-D. I got a pair of Mickey earrings and a very pretty Cinderella long sleeved shirt. I would love to show you a picture of it but it's in the wash right now! It's pretty, take my word on it!

Ooooh lots of updates whilst I've been away!

First, just want to send best wishes to your grandparents, I hope they both have a speedy recovery.

I love your scrapbook. I havent scrapped in so many years! Yay at being on Randy's blog. It is soooo long since he updated it, he must be really busy at the moment.

We cant wait to meet Phineas and Ferb the first time we saw them was on the Disney Channel when we stayed at POR. Our DD has all the DVDs that are available here in the UK.

How big was Chris' steak at Le Cellier OMG it was MASSIVE!

Definitely keeping your grandparents in my thoughts! It's so hard being away from family.

-It's been ten years since I've been to MK at rope drop. I think this is going to have to be fixed!

-Wow. NO ONE TOOK PICTURES? Holy flying monkeys, that's amazing! I don't think I've ever witnessed that! Did you thank them?

-I wonder how many people take the 3D glasses home as souvenirs?

-:lmao: at the photo-taking differences.

-Totally agree on World of Disney. It's just too much on the senses. And then I get lost and can't figure out to get out there. (How Doug puts up with me sometimes is really amazing.)

Okay, I just have to say that you crack me up! (esp about your grandparents' photo taking abilities!)

Thank you so much! And, no lie, Chris and I watch Phineas and Ferb all the time, even though we're childless. We usually don't like the Disney Channel stuff (although, I did have a soft spot for High School Musical, but that may or not have been because Zac Efron is dreamy...), but I think it's just a really good, well-rounded show with some subtle adult humor thrown in too!

And his steak was... somewhere between 12-14 ounces. He brought half of it back to the room!

Definitely keeping your grandparents in my thoughts! It's so hard being away from family.

Oohh you need to go to MK and see the rope drop show. I think it makes me cry now too because I saw it RIGHT before Chris proposed. And, yes, I wanted to pat all of them on the head and give them cookies.

As a side note, I was just being silly. No 3D glasses were stolen on this honeymoon! (I've tried before, but Chris glares at me and makes me return them.)

Okay, I just have to say that you crack me up! (esp about your grandparents' photo taking abilities!)

Haha! Thanks, I try! :D

Update: Both of my grandparents are home from the hospital! (A day sooner than we expected.) They're not 100% better yet, but they're healing. Thank you all for your thoughts and kind words.

Honeymoon Day 5, Part 2

After my mini-shopping spree, we went over to Ghiradelli for some ice cream. (And now I can't wait to go back with some of my amazing Disbrides in May.) Again, I forgot to take a picture, but ice cream is nothing without at least a stock picture.

Ghirardelli-Gold-Rush-sundae.jpg

There we go. Peanut butter and ice creamy goodness.

At Ghiradelli, Chris got his first Husband Scolding. Chris is definitely not used to wearing jewelry of any kind, and so he had been playing with his wedding ring all week. It was pretty cold in the shop, so his ring was looser than he expected. He started playing with it, and then it went flying three feet across the floor. He then got a Look and said, sheepishly, "Okay, I'll stop playing with it now!" Men. (I told one of my male friends this story and his first response was "I did that too! Did he get yelled at? I got yelled at." :lmao:)

After sundaes, we tried to buy some ornaments at the Christmas shop, but the line was just so long (and I was starting to get cranky) that we decided to come back later. Actually, we forgot to buy a Just Married ornament at all--- we'll have to pick one up in May. I also ran into Little Miss Matched and bought some Cinderella socks because, well, it's not exactly easy to find princess socks for adults in the real world.

One thing I do have to bemoan: before the sundaes, we tried to get those huge oreo cookies dipped in candy from Goofy's Candy Co. They don't make them anymore!!! Where did the cookies go, Disney?!?!

We headed back to the hotel room, and rested for a few hours. Around 7:00 or so, we headed towards the Contemporary's dock (which was a fairly short walk from our room--- our room really was terribly convenient) to take the boat over. I hadn't realized that the boat from CR to FW existed until we checked in, and its existence made our lives so much easier. We arrived at FW entirely too early because we're always early for everything, so we decided to grab a drink and then sit outside on the porch. We played checkers, and Chris beat me.

When the time came to line up for Hoop De Doo, Chris's drink had started kicking in. Prior to our honeymoon, I think he had only had five alcoholic drinks in his lifetime, so he's something of a lightweight. He started hiding behind his ticket, and telling me I couldn't see him.

DSCN0500.jpg

I also noticed that the people behind us had Disney's Fairytale Honeymoons lanyards! Apparently they were free gifts with the registry 10 years ago. I was quite jealous.

We were seated in the second row off to the left, sort of near the kitchen entrance--- and I really don't think those seats should be considered Category 1 IMO! When we went to HDD last time, we were the center seat in the very front row, and I truly think that experience just spoiled us. But, see, we had this beam almost blocking some of our view:

DSCN0503.jpg

Chris and I ordered more drinks (sangria for me, beer for him)...

and that's where it all started to go downhill for Chris. He finished his beer rather quickly, asked for another, and somehow wound up with two!

DSCN0501.jpg

I tried to keep up but, alas, I just couldn't drink that fast.

DSCN0502.jpg

The show started, and it was same ol', same ol' Hoop. Our food arrived, and I think you can see the alcohol setting in for poor Chris.

DSCN0506.jpg

The food at HDD is decent for what it is, but I really like their salad dressing. It's creamy, but light, and probably my favorite thing there.

During "intermission" they asked who was celebrating stuff, and they had all of the couples get up and dance. Chris jumped up right away (highly unlike him; he's so shy!!!), and our server took our picture.

DSCN0507.jpg

Shortly after the dance though, Chris got... well... annoying. (And I can say this, but I have told him many times how annoying he was!) At this point, he had had one mixed drink and three beers in the span of an hour and a half, and then he ordered his fourth beer. He started talking during the show, but he just kept saying "What's going ON?!?!?!" "I have NO idea what's happening!!!" and then he would giggle to himself. :lmao: I was angry with him at the time (HDD tickets are SO expensive, and he ruined my enjoyment of the show), but now it's funny to think about. You would think the unlimited food supply would have sobered him up, but he couldn't exactly figure out how to eat his food. He kept trying to cut a bony chicken breast with his knife: surprisingly, this did not work!

I cut him off after four drinks (I think the server did too, TBH!), but he kept whining "Can I have another? Why can't I have another?" Needless to say, I learned that Chris is a rather annoying drunk! When we were on the bus to go back to the hotel, he finally realized that I was angry with him and he just kept saying "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to... I'm really sorry... please don't be mad... I'm sorry..." :lmao: Again, annoying at the time, but I teased him about it the next morning.

When we arrived at the Contemporary, I bought myself a Pluto stuffed animal to cheer me up. (It worked!) I forgave Chris pretty quickly, and we both agreed that he probably shouldn't get drunk anytime soon--- but he was glad he checked it off of his list. I think I'm going to take a few years off from HDD, because I don't think it's as magical or funny as the first time you see it.

We ended the night watching the Water Pageant from our hotel room again (I never got sick of that thing because I found the music eerily catchy), and then headed off to sleep.

That sounds like a heck of a way to watch HDDR. I have never seen it and greg and I have talked about going during our honeymoon but we have not booked it. We only have a tour booked outside of ADRs.

I am glad that buying Pluto worked though. That would definitely be something I would do and I would use my new pluto as my protector from the annoying drunk.

I guess the good thing is that Greg and I do not drink so I won't have to worry about this if we go to HDDR but if we do I will think of this story.

You are making me more and more excited to stay at BLT.

Teresa

Oh, no no, I knew you wouldn't take any 3D glasses, I was just wondering aloud. (Does it count as 'aloud' when you're typing?)

I'm so glad your grandparents are home! :thumbsup2

I can totally envision that ring-playing event happening, down to the very conversation. *sigh* Men!

That picture of you with the sangria is adorable, I have to say. :cutie:

That is definitely a lot of alcohol in that amount of time! I did laugh at the Chris pictures, but if it was Doug, he would've been getting a lot of Death Glares at the time. But at least you have something to hold over his head for a while, if need be. ;)

•So, I have a really, REALLY bad habit of playing with my rings. There have been many times where my right-hand ring or engagement ring have gone flying across public spaces. :headache: I know exactly how Chris feels with the glares, haha!

•Yay, ice cream in May! :goodvibes

•I sat in the table in front of you the last time I went to HDDR. I agree with you--I was like, "I paid for good seats and this is what they give us?"

•Ohhhh, drunky-Chris. I'm sorry he was annoying, but that's so funny to me. :lmao:

~Yay! I'm so glad your granparents are home!
~And Yay for Disbrides ice cream meet up! Can you believe that of all the tons of times I've been at DTD (we eat at Earl all the time), I've only beein to Ghiradelli once??
~ Okay, and how did I not know about adult cinderella socks at Little Miss Matched???? So making a stop in next time! What other cute adult socks do they have?
~And oh, drunk Chris makes me laugh! Kory gets annoying when he's drunk too, but I'm used to it by now!

* Le Cellier looks delicious! I haven't been there but would love to try it someday - probably for lunch though since I'm also mostly interested in the pretzel breadsticks and soup and I don't want to pay super high prices!
* Sending prayers your way and hoping your grandparents have a speedy recovery - and so glad to hear they got out of the hospital earlier then expected!
* Love that your ran for Haunted Mansion! I can just picture you reciting along in the stretch room :rotfl:
* By the way, I love Chris's Bazinga shirt!
* Wow, what a short wait for Peter Pan! We never ended up doing it on the honeymoon because the wait was always so long. We finally decided to get a FP for it on our last day and they were all out! Boo. I haven't been on it since I was 8 years old.
* I hope the Be Our Guest Restaurant opens soon too! I want to go for our April 2013 trip. Can't wait to see a menu!
* Isn't the Tale as Old As Time art book stunning? I got it for my mom for Christmas this past year. But I actually took a picture of it in Disney World and found it on Amazon later so I could spend less $$! Haha.
* I've heard such good things about the GF Cafe. Maybe if I ever get to stay there someday I'll be able to try it!
* Oh, the husband ring! Let me tell you, Jason is constantly playing with his ring. He pulls it off and on all the time. It drives me crazy! And then sometimes he takes it off and just leaves it somewhere and I have to scold him as well :lmao:
* Hahaha your experience at HDD sounds hilarious! Though I can see how it would have been annoying at the time. Jason has never been drunk either, so I don't know how he would act. Probably just silly though.
* I feel like HDD is toward the bottom of my list because even though I'm interested in seeing the show, I don't really care for the food selections. Perhaps in a few decades after I've tried most of the other Disney restaurants - after all, I want to try them all eventually! ;)

Lol @ drunk Chris! Sounds like me when I get drunk & DF yells at me the same way =P I have a feeling Nyx will end up doing the same thing with the ring that Chris did :rotfl: boys..
