Honeymoon, Day 2, Part 2
I forgot to mention: I'm on Spring Break this week! I finished all of my responsibilities, and so I have time to do fun things like work on my trip report. I'm going to head to Michael's later today and buy some scrapbooking materials so I can finally get to work on my wedding day scrapbook: I'm definitely looking forward to it.
Anywho, so we headed to the MK. I'm looking over my notes, and we must have gotten lunch at some point, somewhere. Your guess is as good as mine.
The Christmas Tree was still up, so we stopped for a picture.
And yes, I went to the MK in full bridal portrait hair and makeup. This is also the tank top that matches the sweatshirt I bought earlier in the trip.
We headed over to POTC (Chris's favorite ride) and walked on. As a side note, we're definitely repeat riders: we try to do both HM and POTC at least five times per trip.
After POTC, I was standing around the glass stand across the way and I saw this little beauty, and I just HAD to take a picture for Bethie!
From there, we headed over to Tommorrowland and did Monster's Inc and Stitch. I'm fairly certain Chris is one of the only people in the world who actually enjoys Stitch. I tell him that means he's a bad Disney fan, but he doesn't seem to mind.
From there, we headed over the bridge to go to the Hall of Presidents.
A HOP show had just started, so the wait was around 20 minutes. We sat down, and then the tireds hit me. I looked at Chris, and asked him if we could pretty please go: and he more than willingly agreed. We stopped in the stores on Main Street first so he could buy some art books. Chris collects Disney artbooks: I think on this stop he picked up The Art of Epic Mickey and a book on backgrounds and set design. We are not fun people! We walked back to BLT because I just didn't have it in me to wait for the monorail...
... and, as soon as we got back to the room, I promptly fell asleep. I am not a napper, not by a long shot, but I just don't think I had ever been that tired in WDW before. The wedding stress was completely gone, and we had already been in WDW for 5 days at that point, so I just kind of hit that blissfully happy, but SO sleepy, wall. I slept for a good four hours--- Chris woke me up just a half hour before our Cali Grill ressie! Thankfully, my makeup was still perfectly in place and my hair just needed some teasing. I took the tiara out too, because I didn't feel it was appropriate for the CG. I put on the dress I bought that matched my wedding shoes, and away we were.
We were taken up the fancy schmany elevator, checked in, and were seated quite promptly. Unfortunately, we didn't have a window seat with the view of the fireworks, but that's okay. We were, however, seated next to another honeymoon couple, so that was sweet. I ordered a sangria, Chris ordered a lemonade, and we both ordered flatbreads for appetizers.
Chris's cheese and pesto flatbread:
My chicken and fig flatbread:
That flatbread was the best thing I ate all week. It was sweet, but not too sweet for a dinner appetizer. Unfortunately, after just two pieces it was time to go outside to view the fireworks. I contemplated bringing the flatbread with me, but I didn't think that would be too classy.
Just before the fireworks, we saw a proposal. I had actually seen them beforehand and noticed their great view of the castle, and I had a feeling they were going to be engaged by the end of the night: and I was right!
We went outside for Wishes: I'd say more, but it was the same as per usual. I will say the view from up there is certainly a different experience, but I will always prefer watching from Main Street. There is nothing like being surrounded by its music.
Something I do want to say though: Chris and I were quite surprised by the way people were dressed at the CA Grill. I know it's allowed, but so many people were wearing jeans and t-shirt. We even saw some people in baseball caps. Why bother going to a nice restaurant if you're not going to dress the part?
Shortly after the fireworks, our entrees came. I ordered chicken with cheese polenta.
I had never tried polenta before, but I was determined to try new things on my honeymoon. The texture was surprising, but it was overall quite good: cheesy, but not too heavy.
Chris ordered the bison with the truffle macaroni and cheese:
And, I am fairly certain if, given the opportunity, he would have divorced me in order to marry this bison and raise a little family with it. He talked about this bison for the rest of the week: I don't like beef, so I didn't try it, and I didn't want to take it away from him. The truffle mac, however, was amazing! We're going back in May in hopes of them having his bison again.
I finished the night with a piece of cheesecake.
It was light and fluffy, and the strawberry sauce wasn't that fake stuff you see so often.
We left the CA Grill very happy, and very full. We stumbled back to our room, I unpacked, and then Chris and I snuggled under the cozy comforters. I was looking forward to tomorrow morning: we were doing the Undiscovered Future World tour!
