Jack Sparrow in POTC attraction

My family and I were just debating whether adding a current popular character to an already existing ride is a good idea. For those who have seen it, how is Jack Sparrow incorporated in the attraction? At what point in the ride does he appear? Does he "stand out" apart from the existing attraction? What things does he say, if any? Just curious. Thanks.

He makes 3 appearances, and no, he does not take over the ride. I was concerned about this myself, but he blends in beautifully.
All in all, Disney just enhanced the ride. They kept what was important, fixed what needed fixing. The sound is so much better, the fortress looks revamped, and the lighting is better too.
They did a great job!

Forgot to add that the Davy Jone's part was amazing...my favorite new addition!

He's very well and easily integrated. Actually, he's so realistic it's almost creepy (but in a good way).

And yes, the Davy Jones image on the "steam" waterfall is incredible. Awesone new technology.

I also enjoyed the Davy Jones scene and think they did a great job of incorporating Jack Sparrow. As far as how realistic he was I swear he was real. I know he was looking right at me. If I didn't know better I would have thought that Mr. Depp was there himself and ran to the 3 scenes before I got there.

Davy Jones was COOL! I thought the same with Jack, he was so real it was creepy... Disney did a good job and did not ruin or really take away from the original..

I will be at WDW in September and plan to ride POC first thing. I am so excited to see it; especially after seeing the movie and reading the posts here.

Actually the Sparrow inclusinon was incredible. It does not destroy the classic(ness) of the attraction at all.

In fact, if you had not seen the movie, you'd never notice anything out of the ordinary (except the steam effect).

That is true. He was much more lifelike than any of the other characters, both from a realistic facial standpoint and from a movement standpoint. But I don't think it was distracting because of those points. Breaths a little life into the ride, actually.

New air cannons + subwoofers have been implemented into the battle scene in order to amplify the effect. Nice!

That is a great addition, the scene needed a boost, and I can't wait to do the ride. We missed the opening by one day, wanted to add one day to the trip, but just couldn't change the airplane tickets at the last minute. Will just have to wait until Dec.

The first time I rode the new ride I sat on the far right side, maybe in the third row. At the seen with the ship firing on the fort, I could actually feel the wind from one of the cannon blasts whistle past my right ear. When I rode the second time I sat on the far left two rows back and got a little wet from one of the cannon blasts.
