Jack Sparrow character on the Fantasy

We are just off the Fantasy and our first Disney cruise. There were many highlights during the week - but my twin daughters (age 7) particularly enjoyed meeting "Captain Jack Sparrow".

Since this was our first cruise with DCL - I do not have a comparison vs. the other ships in the fleet - but I was very impressed with the CM portraying Jack Sparrow. Not only did he have a striking resemblance to Johnny Depp's version (see picture below) - but he had the voice down as well.

Humorous anecdote: I had convinced my daughter Lindsay to ask the CM if he was Jack Sparrow in an effort to bait him into saying "I'm CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow". When we finished our photo, my daughter inquired and right on cue - the CM responded with: "Of course I'm Jack Sparrow. But you are forgetting one thing, darling. I'm CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow, savvy?". It was awesome and a moment my daughter still talks about today.

Anyway - I highly recommend you meet Captain Jack Sparrow if you have the opportunity while onboard the Fantasy.

On our first cruise last year on the Dream, Captain Jack was a little miffed that my husband was wearing his hat.

That's one thing that I like about the characters: they actually are the character!

I couldn't agree more! Oh, Cap'n Jack Sparrow! I am smiling because he was THE Character highlight of our trip when we cruised in April (Dream). I wonder if you had the same Jack Sparrow?? I literally got a bit tongue tied /shy meeting ours. It was like meeting THE Jack Sparrow- He was totally in the character and looked JUST like Johnny Depp!! swoon.. Even my (critical) husband was like WOW..that was just like meeting the real deal.

Here is a pic of us when we got to meet him at Castaway Cay (with almost NO wait in line!!) was pretty awesome!!

Was he on the Dream for you too? He looked JUST LIKE Johhny Depp Jack Sparrow didn't he? and I loved how he was totally in character when he spoke with us about things..he was witty and sarcastic , but yet,..charming

While on the Fantasy in April, we were in line waiting to disembark to Castaway Cay when a CM starting saying loudly " Please make way for Jack Sparrow". I turned around and Captain Jack was right there and said " Thank you, Lass". My DH thought that was the funniest thing ever and I swear I thought it was the real Jack Sparrow! He was awesome!

I turned around and Captain Jack was right there and said " Thank you, Lass". My DH thought that was the funniest thing ever and I swear I thought it was the real Jack Sparrow! He was awesome!

We had a wonderful Jack Sparrow experience. My son was just turning 3 on our last cruise and he LOVES captain Jack. Well he walked up to Cpt Jack and said to him "I am Captain Jack" since his name is Jack as well. Well this threw the REAL Capt Jack for a loop and they ended up having quite the length conversation much to the chagrin of the people waiting in line. My son seems to have that effect on characters - Jasmine spent a good 10 minutes with him in WDW.
I did not even hear most of it because they were whispering to each other like they were in some sort of boy's club.

I did hear at one point when my son said something to Cpt Jack, Captain Jack looked at me, winked, and said okay we won't tell Mama - haha ! And then he stole some gold coins from his "set" and gave them to my Jack as a souvenir.

We also met Captain Jack while on Castaway Cay. We were the last ones to take photos before ending his session. There were no other passengers - so we were fortunate to have a brief one-on-one conversation with him as he was leaving.

I didn't have my video camera quite ready and so I was unable to capture the entire interaction with my daughters - but you can see and hear how authentic the CM was in terms of the Jack Sparrow character.

hehe. love it I think that is the same Jack Sparrow we had on april 22nd 4 night Dream ?? Looks that way to me (you can see him in my photo above)

Wish I had taken video as well, he asked us where we were from and when we told him , he said, Uhh yeah I have NO idea where that is but it sounds lovely lol
