Good to know! I know I need to get pepper spray to carry for my daily runs because of 'stray dogs' and mace (it's said) doesn't work for dogs.

Wow, I didn't know about Jack Hanna's encouter with a bear. I saw this posted on his facebook account last night, but didn't know the full story.

After our recent grizzly encounter, the news out of Cooke City, MT today is sobering. We are devastated to hear about the man who has died from a bear attack overnight, and the other two campers that have been hospitalized.

I walk on a trail that Black Bears frequent. I always have my dog so I haven't carried Pepper Spray, but I might start. Two years ago in the fall we had a Black Bear visit us every night where I live looking for food in the dumpster. We were able to get a Bear Proof Dumpster in less than a week, but he came back every night for 3 weeks checking to see if there was food.
