I shopped at Penny's a few weeks ago. We had a $10 off $25. I had been to Penny's on other occasions, but this was a nice extra. I found a nice excerise shirt for $10 and bought a blouse for $16. At Kohls these would be twice as much, but right on the tag was $10.
I ended up ordering 3 more of the $10 shirts and got 2 $12 tank tops that were made of the same material. The plus size section was a little picked over so I was happy to order online. I picked them up this past Saturday in store and also while there bought a pair of shorts. I had seem online, but was worried about which size to get. They were $16, but they rang up $28. The lady fixed them for me, I didn't think anything of it.
Last night I saw I had a 20% off coupon so I thought I would get a few more of the tanks. They are really nice. But they were $22. I thought I was looking at the wrong thing, so I went from my order that I had in my email and yep that was them. My $10 shirts are now $14. Even with 20% off my $12 shirt is $17.60.
I wish people would have given the store a chance. I found a lot of nice things there last summer and fall. I am sad I will again have to play the coupon game.
It is so sad that the coupon mentality won out. I do shop at Kohls, but only when I have a 30% off and even then I only shop the clearance racks. If I get less than that I don't go. I can't stand playing the Kohls game. Over the summer we went in with a 30% off and planned to spend $50 to get $10 back. My husband found a pair of shoes that the scanner said were $22. we shopped some more and bought a few more things. We ended up with $100 to the dot, except the shoes rang up $60?!?! I guess that had been part of an early bird sale, but we'd shopped too long and they weren't on sale anymore. In the end they had us buy them at the kiosk and let us combine the receipts.
