I will be leaving tommorrow morning and checked the news and weather. Fires raging close to epcot and tons of rain coming from the tropical depression. This figures. I booked my trip six months ago and mother nature waits until this week to release her fury.

I am leaving tomorrow morning as well. I am only going for 4 days so it looks like it could be rainy for most of them. At least I know now so I can pack appropriately.

Pixie dust to you both. Florida can really use the rain right now to control the fires. You will still have a wonderful trip. Don't worry. :goodvibes

Maybe crowds will be lighter and we can run around the parks in ponchos and get to do more. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Sending some pixie dust pixiedust: your way. I hope it works out for you. This is what all vacations should be like. :sunny: :cool1: :sunny:

That is what I am hoping for too. I am bring my brother with me so I was hoping that he would get the full experience. The last time he was there he was in a stroller and now he is in college so it is basically his first trip. Oh well, he is a good sport. Off to pack those ponchos..... :)

I know you don't want to hear this, but they are saying the Orlando area could get 2 to 3 inches of rain. We really need it!

I'm at the world right now. There is a lot less smoke in the air this morning and it looks pretty clear. Yesterday it was very smokey from fires. One was west of AK and the other was near Epcot. Epcot closed down early in the evening and buses could not get in. Everyone had to take the monorail to TTK to get a bus the their hotels. The rain only lasted for a little while, but it DUMPED! Too bad it wasn't raining on the fires!

We've been to WDW & USF many many times in the pouring rain & in all honesty, we enjoy the parks more in the rain.

It cools off.....

The crowds clear out a bit......

It gives you an excuse for a bad hair day......

Bring It On!!!! :thumbsup2

Rain isn't such a bad thing in the summer at Disney. It's not hot and less people. And you don't get cold from being wet!

pixiedust: coming your way. Don't worry, things will be okay. We were there last October for hurricane Wilma and then left for the Disney cruise as another storm was crossing the Atlantic. It all turned out okay though, just a little rocky. Have a great trip.

Last Feb My DD and I went to DL and it rain'd every day we had a wonderfull time ,it cleard up our last nighy so we could see fantasmic and the electrical parade .the longest line that we waited in was 20 min .

Look at it this way. The rain will counteract both the local fires and THE HEAT :sunny: it will be a welcome cool off period.

Dress accordingly if rain is planned. When I was little I would wear my bathing suit under my clothes when I knew I was getting wet.

:wizard: Don't let the rain get you down! But bring a smallish umbrella if you are concerned with getting your ahir/face wet. Umbrellas at disney are a little overpriced. ;)

I'm here in New England (Massachusetts) where it's been raining almost non-stop for WEEKS! I would so much rather be at WDW in the rain lol. I know you'll still have a wonderful time and you both seem to have positive attitudes in spite of the weather forecasts. Good for you!! You know there are some people out there that would let this ruin their vacation. I bet you'll have the parks to yourselves, and no lines for the characters or rides. WooHoo!! Have a magical time pixiedust:

pixiedust: sending pixie dust your way!! pixiedust:

Don't worry... all will be great, just make sure you have your ponchos and a great attitude :thumbsup2

Run to the Dollar Store, Wal-Mart, or Target and pick up some real cheap ponchos and HEAD OUT!!!! You will have a great time!! The smoke is supposed to be lifting so, GO ENJOY!!!!!!! A little pixiedust: just in case!!!!!!

I dunno, it's going to be hot and muggy once the TS rolls through:

Perhaps make the first day a shopping/dining day or hit whatever park has the most indoor attractions. :)

Wow thanks for the link to the weather. I arrive on WEdnesday to the World and I am very glad I took the time to dig out the old ponchos and pack them away in our backpack. I knew there would be a chance of rain but I did not think it would be that biga a chance that many days in a row.

I will look on the bright side and hope for smaller crowds, shorter lines and perhaps a little cool down in the temps. Watch out Mickey here we come!!!
