I'm sorry because I know this has undoubtedly been answered a number of times, but I can't seem to find it. I preordered photopass for my June trip today and received my confirmation email, but I am just wondering what I do with this now when I get down to the parks? How do we activate it or let the photographers know we've preordered?

TIA! :goodvibes

Good question................and also..........how do you preorder the photopass? I was wondering this myself!

We pre-ordered one for our June trip as well. You just go to the photopass website http://www.disneyphotopass.com/ and order it. It is $99.00 instead of $129.00 for the CD if you pre-order. They then give you a code to use for when you come home and order the photos that you want on the CD. The code zeros out the balance in your shopping cart since you have already paid for it and they ship you the CD. If you decide later that you do not want to order the CD you can get a refund. At least I believe this is how it works, as this will be our first time using it.

Yes, that is how it works. When you get home from your trip, you can edit your photos. You can add borders and signatures to them. Be sure to do this before placing your order for the CD to be mailed to you.

You don't need to do anything with the photographers. Just go down and get your pictures taken, you can get multiple photopass cards and enter them all in for the single CD (sometimes DH and I split up, so we had separate cards. We were able to load them all on the same CD).

When you get home, you'll log on to the photopass site and log-in the codes from all of your photopass cards to load the photos into your account. You can crop them, add borders, etc. You will be able to get them all on your CD. As the previous poster mentioned, your account should zero out when you go to order the CD since you already paid for it.

Just a hint - write down the code numbers for your photopass cards and put it somewhere you won't lose it (front cover of your guidebook, etc.). That way, if you lose a photopass card, you will still have the code and still be able to enter it into the web site, therefore still have those pictures. You can just then get a new photopass card and continue taking pictures of your vacation!

From our last trip, we ended up with 4 different photopass cards, and were able to enter them all into our account and put all of the photos on our CD. It was SO worth it!

Save the email with the code in it. You will need it when you get home. When you get to the parks, go up to the first photopass photographer you see --for example in Main Street at MK and ask to have your picture taken. They will ask if you have a photopass card. When you say no they will give you a card. They will swipe the card and take your photos--we also ask them to take several shots. Keep this card and give it to the next photographer you see. Make a note of the number in case you lose the card since this is how you will find your photos later. If your family splits up or you forget your card just get another one. We had over 100 photos when we got home.
At home go to the photopass site and enter your card(s) number(s). This will pull up all your photos. This is when you will crop photos, add borders, signatures. With our original 100 photos I ended up with 300 total after adding these extras.
When you are ready to order your CD, you will need to put your email code in to zero out the charge. The photos are only in the system for so many days so be sure to order your CD soon after you return. The CD will come with a photo release so you can have your photos printed at Walgreens, etc.
Hope this helps!

You don't need to let the photographers know and I wouldn't even bring the email print out along. Just go to the 1st photographer you see and they will take wonderful photos and give you a card. Then give that same card or get a new one from other photographers. When you get home you load all your card numbers into the website and do all your edits then order the CD. It will ask if you have a coupon code and then it will subtract the amount. My advice is to write down your card numbers just in case you lose them. We also got a new card for each day and left the previous ones in the hotel room.

I just did the photopass cd pre-order. I actually ordered it after we came back and I looked at the picts. Once you get the code via email you put a new cd in your cart and it loads the pictures on it. When you go to check out you put the code into the coupon/discount area. It zero's out the balance including the shipping. As for when you are at the park just mention to the photographer that you pre-ordered. Sometimes they take more pict for you.
Hope this helps. I can clarilfy if needed.
Have fun!

The photographers won't know or care that you've pre-ordered. Using Photopass is the same for everyone. Simply enter a park, find a Photopass photographer and have your picture made. The first time say, "We need a card," and he/she will pull one out of a pocket, scan it, and hand it to you. Keep that card and write down the number (or take a legible digital photo of it) so if you lose it, you won't lose your photos. You can have multiple cards if you lose one, leave it in your room, or if your party splits up.

When you get home, go to the disneyphotopass.com website and enter all your card numbers. It will find your photos and put them into your account. You can now edit them, add borders/signatures, zoom/crop, etc. You have 30 days. When you are done, you will use the code given to you in your confirmation email to order the CD. When you get it, it will have a release on it so you can print the photos at any printing place.

For now you do absolutely nothing. When you go on your vacation, you will encounter PhotoPass photographers throughout the theme park, water parks, etc. Just approach and have your picture taken. The first one you encounter will give you a photpass card. You keep this. You can reuse this throughout your trip or you can get new photopass cards as you tour through your vacation. Each Photopass card will have a 16 digit code on it. When you get back home, you''ll enter this code(s) on your photopass site and all your photopass photos will be there together. As I mentioned, you can re-use you photopass card or get new ones along the way. We ended up with a few, The water park ones aree given to you at rides end - small ones on a bungee bracelet. If you split up, then different groups might want a photo taken - just take a new photopass card. It is all very simple. Just don't loose your photpass card as the 16 digit code is how you'll retrieve your photos whe you get back home.

HTH.

are there a lot of photo pass guys in the parks? or do I need to search them out? how many pics can one get for this service? thanks

one more question, can I use the cd to post pics on line ( trip reports ) or do I have to have them developed some where and not be able to put them in my computer and add to my photobucket account?

If I pre-order the CD, can I pick up in the park if I want to? I like having my pictures as soon as I get home. I'm not the patient type.

One more tip...Take a pen or sharpie & write your initials or something on you Photopass card. This will help you be certain that it's really your card that's being handed back to you.

There were always plenty of photogs in the parks. You can have as many picts as you want. We only had about 50 but my kids were not into posing. I think the CD's only hold 1000 but you could always order a second.

My understanding is that once you have the CD you can put them on your computer.

You can pick up at the parks. If you want to add any borders like the park logo or tinker-bell I think you can do it but it may take while to go thru the options with the photo people. I always feel pressured with someone watching over me so I like to decide borders at home.

Actually each CD holds 300 photos. There is no need to order a second disc. If you have over 300(which we did on our last trip) you will just get as many CD's as it takes for 1 price. We ended up with 3 discs for the pre order price. Then when I got the disc put it into my computer and made a copy for my sister no problem at all.

There are plenty of photogs around. You will find it quite easy and convenient to find them. Not a problem. There is no limit, but I think a cd 'only' holds 300 pics. You can always get additional Cds. That's an awful lot, plus your own candids yuo would be taking (assuming). Once you have the Cd, it is yours to do as you wish. Share online, take locally to develop, enlarge, poster - whatever. Copyright is yours.

I think you can pick it up. There is also the ability to edit, add borders, etc. as another pooster mentioned. This editing feature, I heard is being or has been discontinued at the parks and will become an at home, on your PC only feature. Well worth the time at home and other options, such as photobooks, etc.

Another question...

We are going twice this year 10/25-11/2 and 11/26-12/3, would I be able to "save" the first trips photopass cards until after the second trip and have all the photos together on one CD or are they just too far apart?

I saw some cute pics, one person holding tinkerbell? is this on the photo pass? and is there other poses with caracters ? this looks sooooo cute!!

Yes, these are set up and added by photopass, not by guest.

Craddling baby Simba in arms - AK
Stitch ripping thru the pavement - HS
Ghost placed driving the horse hearse outside HM - MK
