but could you say a prayer or pixie dust to my cousin? He's just been diagnosed as having Hepatitis C. He has a blood clot disease (his blood doesn't clot) and had a blood transfusion when he was a baby (1985) and thats how the drs. think he caught Hepatitis C. anyways...I would really appreciate any prayers or pd. thank you.

I'll definitely say a prayer. I lost my dad when I was 15 to Hepatitus C. He also contracted it through a blood transfusion. If you ever need someone to talk to who can relate, feel free to PM or email me.

Is the Hep C active? If it is, he can start on Interferon. It isn't the easiest drug to take, the side-effects can be pretty bad - but it's usually pretty effective.....
Someone very close to me had Hep B & C, Interferon worked against the C, but not the B. He also drinks alot of green tea. IN the fall & in the spring he does a liver cleanser tea that has bitter herbs in it, to help his liver clean out the fats it stores up over the winter. He does extra vitamins - can't remember which vitamins (they are the fat-soluable ones) or which herbs are in the cleanser..... If you would like, PM me & I'll find out exactly which ones. Something is working right because he was on the liver transplant list when I met him & he's been off it for 6 years now...

Prayers and Pd to your cousin. I know how you feel my cousin also has Hep C but has decided not to have treatment

Interferon/rebetron combination treatment has come a long way since it was first introduced 10 years or so ago. Today a good percentage of people have the ability to clear the virus after a year on this treatment. The meds come with huge side effects, but the end result is worth it.
