I can't believe how bare the house looks now that I've taken all the Christmas decorations down. I know I should wait till Thursday, but as DH is still off work, it's easier with his help (as helpful as HE can be !!!??). So its only another 46 weeks on Saturday till I put them all up again (I put mine up at the end of November)

I must say it's been lots of fun on the 'Disboards' this Christmas with the Secret Santa and Christmas Card Exchange, hopefully we will do it all again this year

Now all that is needed is for DD (madmouse91) to put my Captain Mickey avater back on for me, then Crimbo will be over

ROLL ON NEXT CHRISTMAS !!!

I took mine down today too. Everything back to normal.

Did you pick up any new Christmas decorations at The Christmas Shop on your trip Mandy?

Yes Kaylee

I bought a Tinkerbell, Lilo kissing Stitch tree ornaments and also a Ty Jingle Beanie that I hadn't seen before

When I go back I've seen a box of 10 mini Mickey Ear shaped ornaments with the stars and stripes on (I just didn't have enough room in my case this time)

I took mine down Dec. 26th, I have it up after Thanksgiving, and it just was time to have it be put away. Also, Christmas was always that "point" to get too that meant Disney wasnt far off, and getting everything put away was exciting for me!! We leave next month for WDW!!

Mandy my friend sent me that 'Lilo kissing Stitch' tree ornament - isn't it cute. I also had a lovely Mickey style Bauble from Susan Ellen :) and a Cinderella Ornament. I am definately going to buy some more in April :teeth:

DisDarling - I know what you mean I do get bored with the tree soon after Christmas.

DMIL took hers down yesterday and ohh my does it look neked I don't like it she does such a lovely job with all the xmas ornamets. Rhys and I have our own tree with ornaments which is still up but will be coming down soon :( then we get to plant the tree in the garden for next year and put up nice lights.

we took our tree down today and the house looks so different!!! we have packed our christmas baubles one with the wdw castle and one with the DLRP castle away safely. my mum managed to break one of the turrets off the DLRP one last year and then lost it so we didn't even get to glue it back on!!!!

DH bought me the Lilo and Stitch one as a surprise for a pressie but when i unwrapped it it was broken! :guilty: i was so upset - DH says that he will try and glue Lilo and Stitch back to the bauble but I don't think it will work.

i'm leaving mine up as long as possible!

don't want to have to take the pretty lights down

Mine stays up till 6th January!! I'm a traditionalist....

Ours came down yesterday together with all the cards and lights :(

Back at work today :(

We took ours down on Sunday and the house looks so bare!!! I hate the way it's all over so quick!!!!

Yeah, took ours down yesterday too...and back to work today *sigh*

We took our LIVE tree down today...and brought it to the University for recycling efforts (They place the whole trees in area Lakes and Ponds for fish/waterlife to use). I'll miss the heavenly scent of the PINES which this little noble fir emitted. I'll also miss the glow of the colored lights and ornaments. :guilty:

The GREAT NEWS...is we still have the FORMAL DISNEY/HALLMARK tree up! It is decorated with White lights, and remains through March!! :teeth: We used to keep it up for Epiphany, then extended it into Feb...and finally MARCH. We LOVE CHRISTMAS...and all the festive things associated with it! WE still have all the yard/house lights up *(many neighbors too) through the 6th!

With so much excitement and hype associated with this holiday...it's no wonder I feel a bit BLUE when it's all over. :(

Hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas! We enjoyed our time in London more than I can describe.

We took ours down on monday afternoon, and the house looks bear :guilty: i'm like mandy too i start counting the weeks down too :Pinkbounc Were off to Disney in june so i will be getting some things from the christmas shop for this year :cheer2:

Although I LOVE the tree, lights and decorations, I must admit I was quite glad to get back to normal. My house is VERY uncluttered and minimalist and having all the Christmas decorations etc made it look somewhat untidy. It was nice to be able to give everything a really good dust!

We took our tree down today. To be honest, since DS had fallen into the tree around a dozen times since it was put up it was beginning to look like a dogs dinner - glas it's all tidied away in the attic now..............now I can concentrate on all the planning for going to WDW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

DF 99 Glad you had a great time in London. Will you be doing a trip report?

Tracy
