yes, I did!! you'd think ONE dress off eBay would be enough - but oh no, not for me!
I had written awhile back about my gown dilemma and even though you all thought it was lovely (it is) - something just didn't sit right. I kept reading how many of you "knew" when it was THE ONE. to be honest, I was just not getting that feeling. And I knew, because I spent HOURS each day surfing eBay for another gown!
Funny as it sounds, I am old enough to be many of your Moms - my oldest son just turned 30! and even with being a "blushing bride" in many, many ways ( he is absolutely wonderful) - wearing that traditional type gown just didn't feel right.
From the beginning, I had wanted something with lace especially since we are getting married at a Victorian Inn on the Jersey shore - so anyway, long story short - I found THE ONE!!!!! It's a Jessica McClintock ivory completely covered in lace sheath style gown. I took it to my seamstress tonight to have a couple of minor adjustments made so I don't have any photos yet
so sorry! but I promise as soon as I do - I will share! I just feel so elegant and feminie in it - and the seamstress and my daughter thought it was just beautiful.I am planning on donating the original gown so someone who cannot afford one has this as an option. Also I now need to figure out the blue I was planning on adding in my stepson's memory. the gown is so detailed, we feel a sash would not do it justice. I am thinking of maybe a blue Swarovski pin?
any ideas ?
anyways, thanks so much for listening but especially thanks to all of you for being so warm and generous with yourselves - sharing hopes, dreams and realities..
much love, Michelle

Anyways, I'm glad you found your dress and maybe I'll look on ebay myself
you guys are the BEST !!!
As you know I too am a 2 dress bride, but it's so worth it in the end. I can't wait to see the pics, it sounds beautiful!!!
I love your idea of the pin. eBay, here I come!! the blue flower is also lovely but my silk bouquet is already made and sitting in a box in my room so that won't work. As for donating the gown, I guess it's my form of "paying it forward" - I'm a firm believer in "you get what you give" . oh yes, and last night I joined weightwatchers to help lose those pesky 20 pounds that love me so much!
