I've got to make a confession.....

As to Starbucks, I've only been once. Told them, "just give me a coffee I don't know how to order latte venti unos or whatever you call them." They probably spit in it before putting the lid on. It was just okay.

Well, "Just a regular coffee, please" probably would have been sufficient ;)

Kids. pixiedust: It was 1984.
I was 4. If makes you feel any better, my husband was in 8th grade. :lmao:
I have never seen E.T. either. My husband says I need to. It is a classic. Looks like I'm not seeing it! :rotfl:
TVGuy: If you are ever up on 80 towards Auburn, Daily Grind in New Castle is 10X better than Dutch Bros, and we love Dutch Bros in my house. :goodvibes

I don't even like the taste of coffee (though I like the smell). I've never been in a Starbucks that wasn't in Target or Barnes and Noble, but I have had tea from both of those.

I can't remember ever watching the Academy Awards in full, and my husband and I went through the list of Best Picture winners today and realized that we'd seen fewer than a handful.

I have never had a Facebook or Twitter account. I have snapchat but have no idea how to use it. I am not at all a fan of Starbucks, I am not really big into coffee anyway.

I don't watch the award shows because I feel like half the time I don't know who or what they are talking about.

ET scared the bejesus out of me and I was so hysterical when he was sick my mom and I had to go out to the lobby so I could get myself together, I was only 5. I have only watched it once to this day. Medical matters still scare me to death and I'm almost 40.

I have never watched Game of Thrones, the Bachelor, Amazing Race or Survivor. I have a strange fascination with Hallmark movies. I don't like Lord of the Rings and can give or take Harry Potter, the only Star Wars I've ever seen is the first one and don't really feel the need to see any more.

I've never drunk coffee even though I was a Starbucks barista in college. The smell never appealed to me and I never liked coffee flavored stuff. I've never drunk beer either. I do like other forms of alcohol though. When I was a kid we used to go skiing in Colorado. A lot of t-shirt shops had shirts that said "Rocky Mountain Brew" and showed a cartoon of a bear peeing in a stream. Whenever I see beer I think of that.

I don't like coffee either, but love the smell! It reminds me of home (childhood home). My 16 yr old got a great laugh at my expense at Starbucks in MK. We had plenty of snack credits and he was loving using them there. We are both too cheap to buy drinks at home. I ordered him a tall something or other knowing that we could get any size on the same credit, only to find out that tall was a small. He had to instantly text his friend and share at my expense.

I can't remember if I watch a certain movie, I always have to ask my husband... my followup question is usually "did I enjoy it?" I guess I just don't pay attention or something because I have a great memory.

I think you should be proud OP!! It's like avoiding the ghosts in PacMan, there's one on every corner and now in Disney, to have never gone in is a major triumph!!
I imbibe the Starbucks a couple times a month, and every time I find myself in one I am in incomplete awe of what the company has pulled off. Somehow I am totally satisfied with forking over 4/5/6 bucks for a coffee beverage...and so are millions of others...genius!! Just pure entrepreneurship and marketing made into billions. I've watched a couple documentaries/tv shows about the original owners and the subsequent selling to Howard Schultz, totally fascinating!

:scared1: How do you communicate with people? :rotfl:

Most people have forgotten that cellphone has the word "phone" in it. Texting is just of no interest to me, I don't see the point. If you need me, call. Even then, I'm a very short conversation person. My phone plan is unlimited minutes, like they all are now, but if I still had a 100 minute/month plan like years ago, I'd never hit it.

Even my Dad texts and he's the most technically incompetent person I know. (Seriously we're over there "fixing" something constantly. It's usually he pushed the wrong button type of thing.)

When texting became a "thing" I wanted nothing to do with it. (I didn't want anything to do with CDs when they came out either :rotfl2:) Then I got my first iPhone and realized I didn't have to TALK to people. That sealed the deal for me.

:D

He'll get there. When his kids become teens, they will drag him along kicking and screaming. I already texted the 16 year old upstairs to make sure she's up and to remind her to give herself time to scrape the windshield. And it's a Godsend for parents of students away at college.

Nope. DD12 will be a teen in a few weeks, and my 9 year old twins all text...especially my daughter. They all know that if they need me, call. And if I call them, they are expected to answer.

I very much understand and realize that my mindset is a long forgotten one, and that's OK. I'm not at all criticizing everyone for texting, it's the way most people communicate now. Not me. I would never text someone who's upstairs in my own house. I'd walk up the stairs and speak to them. Again, I'm not at all making a personal comment on you, I get it, it's just not me. I'm just a very "old school" mentality when it comes to modern communications...don't text, don't do social media, etc... pretty much the lone exception is message boards.

I'll check back with you in a few years.

And if you want to climb the stairs to ask "are you up", have at it.

I'm just playing with you.
