Ivan to be upgraded to CAT 4 tonight

Bad news-

Ivan looks like a Catagory 4 Hurricane sometime this evening, and will probably be a STRONG Catagory 5 before it reaches the Dominican by the middle of the week. Most computer models ar telling us now that a Southern path is VERY Unlikely. most Modles seem to indicate the storm heading towards the Keys, and up the westedrn Florida Coast. IF it does skim into th Gulf, it could be one of the strongest Hurricanes in the past century. So many things can happen between now and then. BUt the strength of this hurricane is VERY scary, even for those of us that are amature meterologists.

Prayer to everyone hit by Frances, I'll keep you posted on Ivan and what we find out...

Our local weather man in Orlando keeps saying it is to early to tell and he doesn't want to alarm anyone but keep an eye on it... We were hit with #3 Charley and #6 Frances so #9 Ivan would be a sign from someone else.

Governor Bush has told the reports at his press conference that it is $5 fine to even mention Ivan right now. Chairman Crotty (from Orlando) has said it is probably a good idea to keep the houses boarded up for a little longer, just in case. And I saw a photo today of someones house that was boarded and the boardes said ... Charley...Check, Frances...Check, Ivan...?

I tell you if Ivan does come this way I think my hubby is going to pack us up and move (just kidding but we have joked about it). This is a crazy hurricane season and we are not even to the peak yet (the peak of Hurricane season is Sept 10).

I'm going stir crazy here in Orlando. I'm not sure I can take yet another hit from a hurricane this season. What's worse is that (as you can tell by my counter) I'm booked on the 9/11 Western Magic. I think I'll be pushed over the edge if that cruise gets canceled. At this point I could really use a break from all of this doom and gloom!

Okay, enough whining from me...thanks for letting me vent! Fingers crossed, everyone!

Oh I cannot take this!! I am so ready for this vacation and am beginning to really stress out about us not getting to the port or even into Florida with the way things are looking. We are scheduled to fly in late Friday night (the 10th). I know that it is too soon to tell and that there are much bigger issues to be worried about then my vacation, I am just griping for my own sake to try and keep my sanity!!

Ivan has officially been upgraded to a Cat 4 Hurricane, should be a Cat 5 by Monday evening. Models showing it could hit the tip of Florida, headed toward the Gulf.

Just looked at the new 5 day on Ivan (11pm). I does not look like it is headed for the gulf anymore! Looks like a similar path that Francis took!

If it does take a similar path to Fances, just think of how long it will take to get CC up and running. I bet Disney holds off on starting repairs until they have a better sense of what Ivan is going to do. I

feel so badly for Disney, but even worse for the people of the Bahamas. They don't have the resources to go through a second major storm. Go away Ivan!
