I just couldn't get out of bed. I could have stayed there all day. That was the most comfortable hotel bed I'd ever slept in. It rivals my sleep number bed, really! I can't believe we have to check out today and move to the Boardwalk.
However, I am at Disney World, therefore, I must get up. We don't have to check out till 11:00, so we wander over to the Dolphin and grab breakfast at Tubbi's. We love eating here for breakfast. I get the kids breakfast, just enough. And with our DVC discount, we can eat for less than $10!
We go back to the room, finish packing what little we got out, and lugged our luggage over to the Boardwalk (we couldn't get a definate answer on whether bell services would transfer our luggage since the Swan is not a WDW resort, so we just took it ourselves). Check in at the Boardwalk was a breeze, first being greeted with a "Welcome Home" from the friendly castmember. No waits, really no one in the lobby at all, we were the only people at the check in desk. We discussed the upcoming hurricane and the lack of people. The castmember told us that if the hurricane was definately going to hit Orlando, the resort would be full almost immediately. He said a WDW resort is one of the safest places to be during a hurricane because they are built to withstand winds up to 200 mph, and Orlando residents know that. They check in during bad weather for safety. Our room was ready, so we took our luggage up to the fourth floor and went to our room, 4066. We had a nice view of the pool and were very near the elevators, but a long way from the ice machine.
We decided to go to MGM today. I just love that walk. We really didn't do a lot here. RnR and ToT a few times. We watched Little Mermaid and wandered over by Muppets, but didn't go in. We were just enjoying the day.
We walked back to the our room for a short rest, where I realized I forgot my pillow at the Swan. I was so bummed. I called over there, but they hadn't found it yet. Maybe they hadn't cleaned the room yet, as it's only 2:00. Losing my pillow will haunt me the rest of the week.
We had lunch at Beaches and Cream. There my dear hubby discovered Raspberry cokes. We sat at the counter and his coke was refilled before he could even finish it. The waitress would put the syrup in first, then the coke, then ice. He said it was the best he's ever had. I had a hot dog, he had a hamburger. Quite yummy and filling.
We went to Epcot to finish the evening. I just love Epcot, at night, when it's so empty. Can you imagine WDW as being peaceful, inside the parks? Well, it was tonight. We strolled, talked to castmembers, shopped and watched Illuminations. On the way back we grabbed a couple white chocolate crepes on a stick (can you see a pattern?) and then off to bed.
How will the Boardwalk beds compare to the Swan? Well, no comparison, but more on that tomorrow.
Tune in next time for Ivan or no Ivan or You want to do what? Day 3
