iTunes update questions

Does anyone know if when I'm updating iTunes or my iTouch if I have to download the Mobileme Control Panel and/or the newest version of Safari.

Is the Safari they're talking about ONLY for the iTouch because I don't want a different browser on my computer. LOL

I don't do updates very often just because it is all so confusing.

You do not have to download/install the extra stuff. Just ITunes & your all set.

I also hate QuickTime and decline to install it.

Thank you both!! I've avoided downloading anything extra all this time but really started to wonder if I was shooting myself in the foot by doing that.
